I never noticed the #FreeLittleLibrary that sits at the entrance of our local Y until today. The boys found 2 books to take home and we‘re looking forward to bringing some back to put in the collection. These books were WILD! Both love stories turned nightmares.

This book had humor, reality and learning lessons. I loved her collection of stories and how they weren‘t all a one after another. There was lots of variety and openness. She wasn‘t afraid to express and explain herself.

I‘m not usually a fantasy book person, but I really liked this book. The pacing is excellent, the characters are fleshed out well. I love that all the characters are POC and I love Zelie and Amari! And with faith and courage, you can do anything. #fantasy #ya #blacklitsy #blitsy #blackgirlmagic

This was a great read. It took me a while because of life distractions but it was overall a great read. I cried and laughed and I also longed for an opportunity to have my own Homegoing. This book delves into the slave trade and how it tore families apart leaving generation after generation with no knowledge of our ancestors and our past. Although the story is fictional; there are many truths to be told here. I give this book 5 stars!
