pickAdore this series and this book didn't disappoint. I've never become so attached to a main character as I have with Lucas Davenport apart from Harlan Coben's, Myron Bolitar.
Davenport has just become a US marshal and his first mission is full throttle and very enjoyable.

pick2017 #91 Pulp Fiction Audio I don't know why I am keeping up with this series but it was fluffy and ok. Well read but the plot was just meh.
pickWhen I am in the mood for a book that reads like an action movie with some snarky dialogue, I pick up a Sandford novel. In the latest addition to the series, Davenport is now a US Marshal, so this one is not set in Minnesota. Fun read.
so-soI liked where this book took the character of Lucas Davenport. After 27 prey novels, I had begun to feel that we couldn't see anything more from his character that interested me. I was glad to see the author took him in a different direction. That being said I felt it still fell a bit short.
pickLucas Davenport has a new job that is perfect for his skills set. Chasing down Bad guys and Assholes is what he does best, and with his new position as a US Marshall, well, let's just say the Bad guys really don't stand a chance. What a way to keep a character fresh after so many books! ✨👍🏻✨📚📚❤️
pickJohn Sanford books are like M&Ms for me. I seek them out & keep going back 'til I'm finished. Essentially the 2 have the same nutritional value. But both are fun, too. Golden Prey not his best but still worth the time. Some real brutality accompanied by tongue in cheek humor. Could have been better edited & dropped 50 pages. And what other police thriller features Donald Judd & Marfa, TX? Lucas Davenport in his US Marshall debut. Go for it, fans.
Random thought for the evening: a Lucas Davenport/Harry Bosch book is something that I would definitely read.
Because when my library hold for the new Prey novel comes in, all other reading material is abandoned.....

pickThis may be my favorite of the entire series! Everything that made me fall in love with the series 20 years ago is here - great characters, thrilling hunt, and sass. So. Much. Snark and Humor. I cannot wait to meet Sandford on Tuesday. He really outdid himself with this one. So much fun. Best book I read this month.
#bestofApril April was not a stellar month for me in terms of quantity and I have three in-progress that may be indefinite DNFs because my migraine addled brain just can't deal with them, but we'll see what happens in May.
