This series is crazy over the top fun and I am here for it! And I totally love Finlay and Vero!

Sarahreadstoomuch I need to catch up on this series!! 2mo
OriginalCyn620 @Sarahreadstoomuch It‘s just pure fun! And this one ends in a way where there could be a 5th book. IDK if that‘s in the cards, but it seems possible. 2mo

Well, the good news is I followed this instalment MUCH better than the last one. The other good news is it‘s funny and ridiculous and entertaining. The other other good news is another body shows up at the end, setting us up for Book 5. Or… is a body supposed to be bad news? I think it‘s bad news for Finlay, good news for her fans.

Finlay and Vero go to Atlantic City and chaos ensues, Steven tags along because he won't let Finlay leave the state with the kids, and Finlay's mom goes too because she's afraid Finlay's taking a vacation with Steven and they'll end up back together.

Unfortunately I didn't enjoy this one as much as the previous three, and I'm not even really sure why.

Another fun installment in a series where you just have to buy into the craziness. Finlay and Vero end up in Atlantic City with most of the series side characters. I still wish they‘d toss her ex-husband off a bridge. He is so annoying to me.

The audiobooks are the way to go for this series!

These books are just so fun.

In what has to be a meta moment, Finlay‘s agent Sylvia remarks that the plots of her books are outlandish but that “the characters are just so real.” Both points are what make this series so charming for me — I cackle at the increasingly ludicrous situations, but I also feel like Finn and Vero are true friends of mine.

I‘m so glad to hear that a fifth novel is in the works.

This latest entry in the Finlay Donovan cozy mystery series is so fun full of non stop hi-jinks. I‘m not sure I have all the goings on straight. It starts off right where the last book ended. Finlay and Vero are off to Atlantic City ostensibly for a girls weekend. Some how everyone but Finlay‘s dad ends up there. Kevin Bacon makes an appearance sort of. Fast paced with a touch of romance- enjoyable escapism 👍👍💚🐉

This is an entertaining series, and I enjoyed this book. I did feel the plot was a little more convoluted that the previous books and it was hard to suspend my belief with much of this. I just hope that this story arc is over, and we can get to something else, where Finlay doesn't have to lie so much to Nick.

I just love this series! This one picks up immediately after the events of book 3 end, seeing our characters headed to Atlantic City. Great humor alongside some close calls ensue, of course. Can‘t wait for the next installment!

This was fun. The story and characters pick up where the last sentence ended in Book 3, and all characters good and bad have a reason to show up in Atlantic City. My only issue is I wish I hadn‘t read each of these books in the weeks after publishing because I think it would be so much fun to binge this series.

AudiobookingWithLeah I agree...it would be better to binge this series...I can't always remember what happened in the last and previous books. 7mo
marleed @AudiobookingWithLeah Neither can I. If I only read a handful of novels in a year I don‘t think it would be an issue, but I often read a handful of books in a week which negatively impacts my memory of the particulars of a book. 7mo
jewright The first one was the funniest. 7mo

#BookReport
Good reading week. Finished my commute book as well as the selection for the book club I moderate at work.

#WeeklyForecast
Goal this week is to make decent progress in my current reads. I'd like to get to the second story of TOaFK and about half way in GMatLP. I also need to start listening to my commute book again but it's a struggle because the narrator is not a vibe.

This was so much fun. And ridiculous in all the right ways 😂 Just what I needed after my last book, which was very heavy.

I‘d read the first three Finlay books last year on rec from a friend. While I liked the first book, I found myself liking the second and third book less and less.

This fourth book I found I liked more than the second and third. Maybe because it felt less like sequel bait? Maybe it leaned more into the nonsense? Less? I can‘t put my finger on it but it‘s worth one more dive in if you weren‘t thrilled with #3

This one was almost as good as the first one! The first one in this series was a 5 star. The middle two were 3 stars. This got so close to that love I have for the first book. I loved Vero and Finalays' dynamic again. Finlay seemed more sure of herself and a way more secure character. There were just a few things that made me say, really...? Other than that, it was a great book. 4/5

AvidReader25 I loved the first book, but the second never hooked me. Glad this one was better! 8mo

This was another fun installment. Very over the top in a way I‘ve come to expect from this series. I especially enjoyed the end of the epilogue.

The Finlay Donovan series is always a fun, quick listen. It‘s of course a ridiculous series of events but fun to listen to the adventures of Finlay & Vero. The series continues as they try to stay out of the way of the Russian mob, a corrupt cop, & now a NJ bookie. It looks like the series will continue. #bookspin

4⭐
I think my favorite scenes in this series involve her daughter…she‘s such a clever girl, and she has quite a few in this book. Finlay Donovan is up to her shenanigans again. This fourth book in the series takes things on the road and finds closure for many of the threads dangling, which I really liked. But of course…she also ends this with a cliffhanger…it makes me wonder how long she‘s going to milk this series for.

Is the plot ridiculous? Yes. Does it depend way too much on coincidence? Of course. But I don‘t read Finlay Donovan books for realistic plots. I read them for the chaos and fun, and this one delivers. In fact, I liked it better than the last one. I loved the very end. #audiowalk

These books are the exception to hating characters doing dumb stuff all the time as they are so chaotic and fun. Finlay, Vero, and, eventually, the whole gang including Nick and Stephen, are in Atlantic City with Finlay & Vero trying to hide their activities from everyone else. #audiowalk It was so pretty outside that I sat by the bay and read The Splendid and the Vile for a bit.

An improvement on book 3, this is a funny romp where Finlay and family cause pure chaos. Good times, but completely ridiculous. 4⭐️

Wowza! What a fun fourth installment to this fantastic series! Picking up right where the third one ended, a road trip to Atlantic City quickly comes together! Finlay and Vero must track down Javi—& the Aston Martin, without letting her ex-husband or mother know the real reason for the trip. With truly hilarious moments & plenty of excitement, I couldn‘t put it down! I absolutely can‘t wait to see what happens next in this wonderfully fun series!

I like that we get to travel to a new locale in this one. Of course trouble will follow Finlay and Vero wherever they go and oftentimes they're the ones following the trouble. That's not changed this time around. I feel like this one, more than the other books, ties up a bunch of loose ends, but leaves just enough that Elle Cosimano can continue the series onward. #mystery #romance #series #FinlayDonovanRollsTheDice

Read Veronica Ruiz Breaks the Bank 1st! It‘s Vero‘s origin story & SHORT. Finlay‘s book 3 ends on a cliff hanger & this story fills holes. Vero‘s brother, her love interest & why she‘s not in college.

This is a whirl wind trip to Atlantic City with Steven, Finlay‘s mom, her kids, her new boyfriend, her sister, her sister‘s GF, the FBI … this story made me LAUGH! You know everything will turn out but getting there is all the fun!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
