First snow of the season + holiday weekend makes the perfect day for a holiday read! What are some of your favorite holiday books?
pickThe tagged book is not the one I read; it‘s last year‘s Christmas book. This year‘s is Holiday Hideaway — it‘s a short story sold by itself. It‘s a cute little holiday romance, but it‘s short on a holiday atmosphere. The story could be set at any other time as well. I continued with Looking for Jane on my #audiowalk at the beach. The weather was perfect for our short trip.
pickEvery winter the Toliver Family head to NYC from their tree farm in Tarburton, North Carolina to sell their beloved Fraser Fir trees in time for Christmas. The annual sojourn is usually made by Murphy and his father Jock in his rusting 1982 Ford F-150 with a vintage fifteen-foot travel trailer hooked up behind it. The 1962 Shasta trailer was fondly referred to as Spammy has made the trip for the past 40 years.
pickLow end of the pick scale. I think we‘re supposed to like Murphy, Kerry‘s brother, but he‘s mostly mean & grumpy for no reason. Kerry‘s a perfectly fine character. I liked MKA‘s last Christmas book, The Santa Suit, better. The narrator of this one has kind of a baby voice, which is irritating when the mc is a grown woman. #audiowalk
