I don't usually read standalone books from the same author back to back, but sticking on theme for October, I did it. Her magical systems are tied to nature here as well but in a different way. It was atmospheric and enchanting. Iris had a similar stubbornness as Clara truthfully, but the love interests from book to book were very different.

Love that this was set in the PNW and that the fmc had animal magic. A 3⭐️for me because I was annoyed with the mmc the entire book. He was a jerk to the mfc and never really changed.

I wanted this to be a book i loved- A witch with ability to sense and communicate with animals, an enemies to lovers trope but the angst and poor decisions of the main character really irritated me quite a bit.

The story is both sad & hopeful, full of the magic & wonder of nature. Yes, there is witch magic, but it's so interconnected with the world. I found that simply beautiful. Having lived in the PNW, I could feel myself in that old growth forest, which does have a magic, turning her fear & anxiety into hope & even joy. Although I knew how the story would end, I loved seeing how things played out.

I absolutely loved this book. I was immersed in the story, and it was great how the author incorporated a love of nature with magic. If I had magical powers, it would definitely be Iris' ability to communicate with and heal animals. This was my first Rachel Griffin book but definitely not my last.

A good story about a teenage witch, a cursed owl, and a boy. It's very enemies to lovers, not my favorite trope, but it works for this one 🦉

I got 1/2 way through this & thought “this is very similar to Nature of Witches” got to THE END &realized it is the same author😂
A sweet story with an enemies to lovers vibe/forced proximity between a witch & her snarky nemesis who HATES witches. It‘s cute, it‘s a quick read. Nothing too deep & it may not be 1 I reflect back on, but entertaining. I like in this & Nature of Witches that it‘s more the connection to the Earth than being all powerful

I got this for $3 at Target! I‘m jealous of the bookish box cover I saw on FB, but I did enjoy the story. Iris is a witch working at a nature center, and accidentally curses a boy she works with for his negative attitude towards witches. Now she and the boy, Pike, have to try to find an owl (that actually carries the curse) without Pike finding out the real reason why - before the injured owl dies and the curse is released. Enemies to lovers!

It‘s not #bookmail this time but a present. My wonderful daughter @Ciara_Rosey came yesterday with gelato to help soothe my sore mouth & this book I‘ve been dying to read! Having children really pays off sometimes😋 I absolutely loved Griffins first book about witches & can‘t wait to dive into this one.

The heat finally broke enough so we could have a lovely beach day 💙 🌊

If you look closely, you can see the corner of my book…that I can‘t read because a certain little cat has decided it‘s comfortable to sit on.

This was a very good, very quick and easy read. It kept me company today while my dad underwent some medical testing. The hardback cover is truly stunning and the story is fun. Managed to snag a signed copy from a local independent bookstore! #bookspin @TheAromaofBooks

I love it when they make the hardcover itself even prettier than the dust cover! What a gorgeous book!

Really enjoyed this one! Wild is the Witch focuses on Iris and Pike and they‘re pretty much the only characters for most the book I enjoyed their time on the woods and their type of magic.

Rachel Griffin's writting style is so magical and atmospheric that I find myself forgetting I am actually reading. The magic systems she creates are so unique, which I absolutely love! I love how easily Griffin writes in issues of bisexuality and anxiety in a way that is so openly accepted and natural. The real world needs to hurry up and get on the same page. I also love the way I find myself mourning for character we never get to meet.
