Another lovely graphic novel in this series. I like how different topics are treated, where respect, acceptance and support are always present. This time is how Nick and Charlie express their love to each other, Charlie‘s eating disorder, Nick uncertain how to come out with his dad and new school goals. Lovely♥️♥️♥️Don‘t know how to rate graphic novels🤷🏽♀️4⭐️?
Such a positive comic series. Things get pretty intense in this volume, but under all the drama and stress there is always love and support. Very uplifting.
Really enjoyed this instalment in the series. Some very serious and important issues were discussed. Looking forward to reading Volume 5! 💜 5⭐️
(January 22, 2024)
This volume dealt with some more serious issues, but still a quick and enjoyable read. Squeezed it in just in time #2023reads
I am utterly blown away by the fourth instalment! Never have I had the pleasure of reading such realistic and cognizant mental health representation. Vol 4 explores in greater depth the extent of Charlie's battle with mental illness, anorexia and OCD, and while Oseman shows there is no quick fix for mental health struggles, they also show how things do get better, an internal struggle most of us have a very hard time believing. Heart warming 🍃🩷.

My last book read for September, this is such a sweet series. This one deals with mental health issues & eating disorders but still remain a romance between two young men.
Thanks to @Laughterhp & her #AuldLangSpine list for getting me to read book 1. Now I really do need to watch the Netflix show.
Listening to this song while reading the last few pages of Heartstopper #4 is what made me enjoy this volume more than I did before. This one handles heavier topics that definitely made me want to give everyone the firmest of hugs. I love, love and how the relationships created in this series continuously highlight the ups and downs of all relationship types and the work that‘s necessary to keep and evolve in and with them. Get your tissues ready.
Kinda book related, but I just finished Heartstopper 2, and I officially need to gush! Ooh, my goodness 🩷🍃. I loved it MORE than the first season! All the feels (a literal emotional roller coaster) bundled into something joyous, wholesome, and so meaningful, with serious themes handled with care. Words can't express how important these graphic novels/ shows are! The representation is above & beyond. How can we wait a year after that cliffhanger?
I love this series so much 🥰
This was heavier in topics than the previous ones. This is about Charlie‘s ED and Nick trying to help him. There‘s a lot to unpack. I feel so bad for them both, and therefore felt so proud when they went through their desired paths. This is all about mental health and the person who loves you struggling to help. Adore Nicks relationship with his mom. I feel him so much in figuring out the “fix my s/o” pit of worry.
I read #Heartstopper Volume 4 on our boat 🚤 today. It‘s the best one yet and I can‘t wait to see all of it unfolding on Netflix soon ☀️. While reading 📖, a group of little ducks 🦆 and their mom approached us and they practiced their diving and swimming 😍.

Yesterday, I turned 25 years old, and these are the amazing presents I got from my family ☺️. I‘ve already read Heartstopper 04 and Monsters, and I enjoyed them both. Can‘t wait to watch Call the Midwife again, and the little fox 🦊 is my first plushy from Jellycat.

This was such a fun read! I love these books they always get me out of a reading rut.
Cute! It‘s been a while since I read the previous book but I felt like there were a lot of bumps in the story in this one. Still looking forward to the next one, though 🏳️🌈
I could see the build-up to Charlie‘s eating disorder and I think the writer did a great job showing them dealing with his mental health. Another sweet addition to this series, and looking forward to volume 5.
This was as good as the first. Includes themes of mental illness and eating disorders. The 5th installment comes out in November.
"But also knowing that some people need more support than just one person can give. That's love, darling."
So far my least favorite of the series, it was still a fun read. I think I'm just getting tired of the same old troubles being rehashed in every book. Yet I still love Nick and Charlie. I just wish this series moved a little faster.
I can't believe that this is the last (released) volume!! I need #5 now!!! @MatchlessMarie

I continue to love this series. Volume 4 is an important look at a teen realizing he has a mental illness and his boyfriend's experience loving someone who is battling a mental illness.
4/5⭐
Heavier topics are covered here, but Nick and Charlie are just as loveable. ⚠️ Look up trigger warnings ⚠️
LIKES
- Nick and Charlie
- The way Oseman handles the nuances of young love. So well done!
- The focus on all relationships (friends, siblings, therapist, teachers..)
DISLIKES
- I turn to Heartstopper as an uplifting, light, happy read. This was sad..but important. The tough topics were handled well. Relationships aren't all ☀️ & 🌈 💯.
#JanuaryJazz Day 6: This book seems perfect for #CuddleUpDay. Posting in advance since traveling this week. 🧳✈️🛬
This volume is much more serious than earlier volumes, focused on Charlie's mental health. It is well thought out and tackles anorexia and depression well.
I still love seeing Charlie and Nick together and evolving.
Loved this volume and how Oseman tackled mental health. I think this is really a wonderful series for teens and young adults. Parents and teachers as well. I wonder if Volume 5 will have much from her book Solitaire since a few things were mentioned including Michael. #SuperSeptember
Why can I not get enough of these two?! CW for mental illness, self harm, and eating disorders.
Charlie & Nick are officially a couple now. However, Charlie is still facing his eating disorder, & Nick has to come out to his dad. Will the 2 say I love you to each other?
This one was ok. Not as great as the other ones before. I wish there was more romance. I get the eating disorder awareness, but I think that kind of took over the story. I liked that we got to know more about Nick though.
Volume 4 is the first one that extends well beyond the Netflix season 1 plot arc. With the themes she choose to explore here and the way she did it I kept expecting to find this one sickly sweet and get annoyed with it, but I never did. It was just as heartwarming as the earlier volumes. It‘s actually a pretty rare gift to read a series that‘s so purely uplifting.
Omg I love Charlie so much 😂
These are just so good!
Oh, I love this series. It was so refreshing to read about a character struggling with their mental health in a way that was both realistic and hopeful.
I love all the characters so much, but Nick‘s mother and Tori were the absolute best in this volume.
Oh yes, this is exactly what I needed. There's a more detailed look at one of the main characters dealing with ED and mental health, in a constructive, positive way, but just FYI if that's likely to trigger. I LOVE all the relationships (and identities) consistently given time on the pages, especially the deepening of Charlie and Nick's. 🥰 That dinner scene with the Dad and brother? SO cathartic. 😤 Charlie's sister is a badass.
I can't wait for Volume 5 next year. The relationships are just so dang adorable.
I finished reading Volumes 3 & 4 of the Heartstopper series. The 3rd book was OK but I enjoyed the 4th book more. It was sweet to see how many supportive people Nick and Charlie had. It was also cute to see gow their relationship kept getting stronger.

So I have to say that this volume really got a bit heavy but it does show what some people go through and how it affects them and everything and everyone around them. But Alice really focuses on how you need a support system and how you can‘t just try to help them on your own.
There are still some cute moments between Nick, Charlie and their friends. It's not just angst though out the book.
Literally read this in like an hour and a half. I LOVE Alice actively depicting a healthy support system for these boys, and I would kill and die for Tori Spring. Also, Nick was IN THE SHOWER. 😂 #yagraphicnovel #yaromance
Are you sick of me yet?
This series is just so delightful. And it's one of those things that I don't really think can be overhyped. If you are at all interested in the premise (a slice of life graphic novel about kids finding themselves, falling in love, and growing up with a beautifully supportive friend group), you're gonna love this. Full stop.
I read volumes 3 and 4 this weekend, and they are so awesome. They‘re not fluffy and you should be prepared for hard topics, but the core relationships at the heart of this series are wonderful. And Alice Oseman does such a great job of capturing the feeling of falling in love at any age. 💗
This book was soooo soo cute.
I really like how Alice treat eating disorder and everything explaining what is it and how we can help someone who have it. She is a really good writer and the graphic-novels are just perfect.
This was the best so far!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was my favorite Heartstopper yet. It‘s truly remarkable how true to life these books are, handling such issues as mental illness, disordered eating, and self-harm, while being full to bursting with new love, queer joy, loving families, and supporting friends. I love this series so much 🥹
My Teita picked up this library cabinet for me and my dad fixed it up and added legs so I can use it as my nightstand. Best part: it has larger drawers that my mass market paperbacks fit in! 🙌 Once Volume 4 gets here I‘ll add it to the pile on top. I love it! 💕🍃💕🍃
Me with all the Heartstopper content right now. 🍃💕🍃💕
Similairly to the last volume, this part of the series was a lot more serious and in general a lot deeper (if that makes sense) I still really enjoyed and couldn't stop reading it. Though it still had some cute and lighthearted moments, it tackled more serious issues and I think it is important for this kind of representation to be shown as well.
