#BookReport June 14-20
A good listening week 🎧but a poor reading week 😔I lost interest in both my ARC ( Utopia Ave) and my #ReadingEurope2020 ( In Extremis). I‘m slowly making my way through Me & White Supremacy, it‘s meant to be a 28 day challenge but I need to finish it before library hold ends.
I‘m halfway done Mila 18 ~ I‘m heartbroken, as I find that in the past 75 years the treatment/judgement of Jews hasn‘t really changed.

Marilyncjackson My tablet smells like books and my grandma‘s perfume. Plus when my eyes are bothering me I can change the font on my tablet (making it bigger) so I can keep reading. I think it is pretty uncool when people post things like this. Reading is reading no matter how you do it. Let‘s not put people down for how they chose to read. 5y

shanaqui @Marilyncjackson I hear you. My mother's going blind and an ereader is how she can keep on reading the same books as me, but EVEN WITHOUT THAT, I don't get why people need to act superior about it. To each their own; I love both. 5y

Marilyncjackson @shanaqui ❤️ yep and that is why we need to stop making “jokes” that physical books are superior. Ereaders and audio books are the only way some people can enjoy reading and I don‘t think it is funny to diminish this r poke fun at the way anyone reads. Also, you are totally right that some books don‘t smell all that good. (edited) 5y

Leftcoastzen I‘m glad there are different formats so more people can enjoy books .I do have a kindle , listen to some books on audio, but a HUGE fan of book books! 5y

Marilyncjackson @Ddzmini but the point is it is not cool. You wouldn‘t post something like my socks are more colorful than your wheel chair wheels would you? I really hope you see my point. Posts like this are insensitive they are not “cool”. And yes posts that can make people feel bad because they cannot read a physical book do bother me. Posts like this take away from the atmosphere of inclusion. 5y

Marilyncjackson @Ddzmini I am not picking on you. I am tired of seeing posts like this and have decided it is time to point out how insensitive they are. Most people think they are being cute or “cool” when in reality they are being hurtful to people who can‘t read physical books. If people want to shrug their shoulders and and be “cool” fine. I, on the other hand, plan to include anyone who likes to read no matter what or how they read. Sorry if this bothers you 5y

Ddzmini @Marilyncjackson actually I probably would post something like the socks because my mother is in a wheelchair has been for all of my lifetime and she has always told me if you can‘t laugh at yourself who can you laugh at.. by the way I suffer with dyslexia and I‘ve overcome other Heath conditions including eyesight issues. I probably would post something on that as well ... we have to have humor in order to handle situations in life. 5y

Macnjen Going Clear for Scientology. Not a memoir but very interesting. There is a memoir by David Miscaviage‘s niece which is pretty interesting but the title escapes me right now. 6y

Good question. I've been in a bit of a reading slump, partly due to the busy-ness of life but also partly due to this book. It was my science pick for @bookriot 's #readharder challenge but the abstract computational neuroscience is too dry for me so I've decided to officially bail, which I have never done in my adult life. Be warned - although the title may be intriguing to lots of Litsy folks, it's not specifically about choosing what we read.
