My, what a whirlwind! For everything they went through, the ending of this book seemed rushed. I wanted to enjoy the happy more. Some elements were predictable and a couple weren‘t. It seems clear to me that the author hasn‘t experienced much loss or true grief in her life as the characters‘ reaction to parents‘ death is insincere and lame.

It was sometimes a bit hard to remember who was who because there were so many characters and they weren't really fleshed out. America was quite fun, she sometimes did stupid things but it was somehow hilarious.

This had some action but still the middle part felt a bit boring. The last part of the book was more thrilling. I liked to read about all those dresses & glamour.

This was one was fun & light.

Read this third book to finish the set but wasn‘t really wowed by any of them. These were a recommendation for me and I can see why they would be popular (particularly if you grew up reading Shannon Hale‘s Princess Academy, you will love this!) but they are just so full of cliches. Just enough freshness to keep me reading and some twists. But, let‘s just say if you‘re an eye-roller, save yourself the headache you will get from reading this one 😂

I think this one wraps up the trilogy well, but it did feel repetitive. I‘d love to have seen more about how the systems all actually change and the history of the northern rebels and their cause. I liked that we had a chance to get to know the other girls in the Elite a bit better in this one. Still, a fun series that was compulsively readable and just what I was in the mood for.

🤩😭🫠 wow wow! Another book that‘s easy to breeze through. Rollercoaster of innocence, love, and loss; these poor kids. Makes the epilogue even more beautiful. I‘m so happy these books exist!! The political stuff makes more sense now but I still think it‘s not over!

A little on the late side, but I‘ve been doing a lot of cleaning and moving furniture today. Almost done with the audiobook that‘s tagged. My slow read has 50 pages, and it looks like there is two of the same book here, but there is a novella and a comic book ready for tomorrow. Yay! @Andrew65 (I didn‘t post because I fell asleep last night when setting it here).

I am SO thankful they got back on track with the history/politics/caste system because it really adds a layer and ties in the fluffy, cute romance and the purpose of the Selection. Again, another super quick read and definitely worth it.

The One by Kierra Cass is the third in the selection series. It's about America finally admitting her love to Maxon and the progression of their relationship. Oh my god are the only words I can use, this was the absolute perfect story and while there were definitely aspects I didn't get right away- I couldn't imagine a better ending for the best series I have ever read on my reading journey so far. 5/5 Stars.

I finished this book and oh my gosh was it good! It had everything I wanted plot twists, romance, and drama it was amazing. I felt so many emotions and that‘s what made it good. There was the happy feeling and the there was the sad feelings right after. The ending had so many different emotions, it ended the trilogy perfectly.I can‘t wait to read the next book. :)

I‘m surprised this one let me down. I was so invested in this to be the best one of all that I read it in a day.

It was good halfway through and then I couldn‘t get past the DRAMA. Really all we needed was some simple COMMUNICATION. How hard was that??

For a trilogy though, the first two books easily are better than this one.
(Review contd in the comments⬇️)

Rating: 3.5/5 (.5 because I‘m a sucker for the romance😍😂)
Book description ⬇️

i.besteph Review: I also felt the ending rushed by. I guess in a way it was as dramatic as the protagonist herself 😂. I wanted to know more about the government and their reign as new King and Queen.

I get it in the end it‘s a romance novel but it needed a bit more depth. There‘s a lot of questions left unanswered, major loopholes and more deets on the wedding? Is that too much to ask? 😫😅

i.besteph Book description: The time has come for one winner to be crowned.

When she was chosen to compete in the Selection, America never dreamed she would find herself anywhere close to the crown—or to Prince Maxon's heart. But as the end of the competition approaches, and the threats outside the palace walls grow more vicious, America realizes just how much she stands to lose—and how hard she'll have to fight for the future she wants.

- Prince Maxon to America

Look what I found! A quote similar in To All the Boys?
"Break my heart, Covey," Peter says, his eyes pleading. "Break my heart into a thousand pieces. Do whatever you want."

⬇️ Contd in the comments ⬇️

i.besteph In a way I see that Prince Maxon and Peter Kavinsky are very similar, yet so different. While I never truly understood the Prince, Kavinsky‘s character development is phenomenal. 4y

While I did enjoy the simple read of the first two, I had started to lose interest in the last one. Too much teenage angst for my liking and I felt like there were much more interesting stories outside of the selection that I felt myself longing for those storylines instead of the one I was in. Overall, I am sure a lover of teen romance will greatly enjoy this book, it just wasn't for me.

4.5/5🌟

The MC is as idiotic & immature as ever & you will be dying several times inside. But you will not regret reading this book! Much more interesting than the previous 2 books! I am disappointed that the author decided to leave this story hanging with this book & slap a 20 year gap in between for the next. I can't bring myself to invest myself on the 4th book. BUT I do feel satisfied with leaving this series at 3 books! Worth the read.

A lot is packed into this and it could've easily ended up my fave of the 3 books, but most of it isn't developed enough. The romance drags out far more than it requires, and the king's challenges to America's loyalty got repetitive as well. After introducing interesting concepts of rebel groups & political overhaul, Cass doesn't give them enough space to develop. Despite the satisfying end to the romance, the pacing was uneven. Liked, not loved.

This is the third book in the Selection series and wraps up the whole love triangle business. There are four girls but the Prince can only choose one. Flaring tempers and impulsive actions lead to everyone being uncertain of each other even as the rebels increase their attacks in an effort to destroy the monarchy. Some sad moments in this one. I was again on the edge of my seat until the last moment! Book hangover time!
