This one had me laughing. Love this crazy cast of characters.
My husband asked me what‘s making me laugh so hard and so often. This book is so good. Book 2 in the series I was introduced to by @KadaGul during #AuldLangSpine

The way I will always be a sap for two guarded people who have to learn to trust one another!!! Braden might be my favorite Book Club member, and I loved the suspense subplot. Only thing I noticed is that this book needed another pass from the copyeditor - so many typos! #contemporaryromance
I finished this one earlier this month. This was on my #TrappedOnAnIsland list last month. Just as I thought, this was just as good as the first in this series :D

I had a hard time with the female main character. I hated her in the first book and even more in this book. I liked the premise of taking down the bad guy though. Funny and kept my attention.
I‘m not a huge romance reader but this series about a book club formed by men who read romance novels as manuals for romance is fun reading. Braden Mack knows everything the “manuals” have to offer but keeps striking out at love. While helping fiery, stubborn chef Liv Papandreas strike back against a sexual predator, he learns that sometimes the only way to get the girl is to go a little “off book.”
Here's your picks @Pigpen_Reads sorry your match hasn't been in touch. Hopefully you'll like something I have chosen for you. I love the Bromance Bookclub series. 😉

Well I flew through this one! I haven't read a book in a single day in ages. It stsrted a little slow for me, but I think I liked it even more than book 1 by the end.
Nothing ever goes as planned wben doing projects in a 140 year old house... our hardwood floors are in terrible shape and have about 3 coats of (probably) lead paint. They aren't level enough to put vinyl floor over them, are too damaged to refinish and I'm done with carpeting - another coat of paint it is! Put down a coat of primer while listening to the tagged book today. Tomorrow they're going gray and Nina will finally get her bedroom back!
#swoonathon So many thanks to @Pigpen_Reads !!! I literally squeeled and danced around when I got this package. I‘ve already dove into the Bromance and chocolate. Thank you for making this bookworm feel loved!
Liv Papandreas gets fired for standing up to her boss‘s sexual harassment. So, she turns to Braden Mack for help in trying to exploit her boss‘s actions. She tries to deny the attraction between them, but it doesn‘t last.
This book was so cute! I‘m totally immersed with this series. I did like this one more than the first one. The plot was better. The characters had more chemistry. I just wish it had more spice.

Not as great as the first book but I still kind of liked it. 3 ⭐

"History was built by thousands of women who thought they were just housewives or just secretaries or just seamstresses until the day they got fed up and decided to fight back.
Lyssa Kay Adams, Undercover Bromance" (Bromance Book Club, #2)
First, I love that this series is narrated by Andrew Eiden. Not only is he a fabulous narrator, but the story also works so much better.
Although this second book in the series deals with a difficult subject matter (TW: long-term, serial sexual abuse), I thought the author balanced it well against the romance. Granted, I didn't giggle as much with this one as the first one for obvious reasons but I still loved the story.
A well-balanced blend of serious issues and laugh until you cry moments.
I liked the 1st book better. Liv never really grew on me, but I‘ll continue the series since the premise is so good.
I rarely commit to a “series” but I‘m officially hooked on the Bromance Book Club series! I loved book #2
This is the 2nd book in the series. There was a 6 MONTH WAIT FOR THE 1st book. It‘s not necessary to read them in order. After reading this one I will complete the series. #whattoreadnext #lyssakayadams
I for one am a purist when it comes to language and I don‘t care to read or listen to books where every other word is an expletive, but I have admit that I loved this story! There was a plot! It was romance within a romance meaning the tropes were all present. It was also hilarious. My favorite character is the lactose intolerant Russian, who nearly exposed their “heist” with a fart. My 11 year old nephew‘s favorite word.
The second in this series was super cute! Liv, the younger sister of Thea from the first book, is a pastry chef trying to bring down a famous Nashville chef for his notorious sexual harassment. And Mack, from the Bromance Book Club, is ready to help.
The way sexual assault was handled in this book was really problematic, almost unforgivably so. I‘m still deciding if I want to read the next one in the series or call it a day with the Bromance Book Club.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I felt like there wasn‘t much of the bookclub in this one. Also, I didn‘t feel like there was as much romance in this and it moreover focused on the #metoo movement. It is still good and I look forward to more in this series. #bookstagram #bibliophile #litsy #littens
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫I think I may have liked this even more than the first one! I wasn‘t interested in Mack‘s character in book 1, but that quickly changed once we were able to spend time from his point of view. I liked learning more about the book club members, and I loved Liv & her relationship with Rosie. I thought the sexual harassment storyline was handled well & pretty realistically, which I appreciated.
Definitely looking forward to reading book 3!
I decided to do Kindle books again for my October #Bookspin - and realized that the first 20 books in my Kindle this month are completely different than the first 20 last month, so....🤦🏼♀
@TheAromaofBooks
This book is engaging and also touches on ideas of victim-blaming & understanding why some people fear leaving abusive situations. It's not a very in-depth look at those ideas, but they are important so I appreciate the author at least acknowledging them. Just as in the first one, the time spent w/the Bros is the best part. They are as hilarious & insightful as before, now discussing love as well as stealthy ways to unmask a predator.
This one was great. Mack and Liv's story was surprising in many ways. There were just the right amount of twist and turns with dashes of sassy and angst. They gave just as good as they got in terms of banter. Liv's struggle to keep people at arms length while staying nonchalant about everything must have been tiring. This was a hit for me.
September Book 2/20 #Litsy Love
LOVED this book and this series so far. I breezed through this in two days and honestly loved it more than the first book. Would love to see this as a movie series. Grand gesture forever. Mack is definitely my favorite 🥰
Challenge complete 🥳
Overall I liked this one. There were some parts that were slightly annoying and made me not like Liv or Mack much, but in the end I liked it.
Started this one right after Crazy Stupid Bromance. My weekend so far has consisted of cooler temps, long walks, pizza, shark week and reading. Pretty great day I think.
Mack was a difficult character to pin down at first. Sarcastic, rich, and knows he‘s attractive. All ingredients for the biggest jerk in the world, right? When a date suddenly goes VERY wrong, the king of the romance novels finds himself in over his head in more ways than one. He‘s always been better at giving instructions to save relationships, but now he needs to take his own advice and be willing to accept what he truly deserves in life. 4⭐️
More remodel and more bromance! And yes the toilet is temporarily in the shower.
Liv and Braden Mack got off in the wrong foot (because you just don‘t eat someone else‘s food in the fridge).
When Liv witnesses sexual harassment at the restaurant where she works as a sous chef, she refuses to be silent. Soon Liv and Mack are thrown together and on a joint mission to expose the actions of a powerful man.
Enjoyable, but parts were hard to read.
Taking a break from heavy stuff and going back to beachy reads. I'm too sad for anything serious right now.
Loved the witty banter. Loved the Bromance Boys. Loved the chemistry between Mack and Liv. All better than the first book in the series IMHO. BUT... the instigating factor in their relationship (the sexual harassment of a coworker) left me with an icky feeling. Overall though, I flew through this book and it was very fun.
#wondrouswednesday Thanks for the tag @Eggs
1. Tagged!
2. Since it‘s fresh in my mind would love to see what the Bromance Book Club boys could teach Murderbot!🤣 🤖
3. I generally like 1 POV but lots of exceptions to that. For example, Ninth House had a handful of chapters in a different POV that was done well and left me wanting to hear more from Darlington. Romance novels I also prefer the multiple povs.
If you want to play, tag you‘re it!
Always fun to recreate the cover art. 🤣😂🤣
⭐️⭐️⭐️ This enemies-to-lovers romance was just okay. I didn‘t appreciate how Adams used a minor character‘s very serious plight to drive Liv and Mack together. I think she meant well, but it didn‘t quite work for me. The “bromance” bits were my favorite and add much-needed comic relief. I wanted more of the “bros,” tbh, but I‘m a sucker for Nashville-set stories, so I‘ll probably read the next installment, out in October.
I do not love the premise of a romance being born off of another persons sexual harassment and assault. The mystery could have been about literally anything else and I might have enjoyed their snappy back and forth relationship. The whole time though I read I had to brass for impact of another awful encounter and it really took me forever to read. I hate the relationship was wrapped in the horrible story. Braden deserved a better love story.
1. The tagged book annoyed me, but there were definitely some funny moments.
2. The Ultimate Gift
I don‘t have a good track record lately with tagging folks, so feel free to play if you‘re so inclined.
