I don‘t normally do .5 ratings, but this one is definitely better than a 3 but not quite a 4. I loved the unique lore and world building of this novel where zombies are sentient. Angel is a fun protagonist and I was absolutely rooting for her the whole way. The end felt rushed and I had figured out the “mysteries” pretty early on in the book. But I couldn‘t put it down and will get to the 2nd in the series sometime soon.

Photo 2 - This is my review for the first book in a series that I read in 2018. I enjoyed this book but I never continued with the series. Maybe one day, I‘ll continue.

#zombie Found this buried in my audible queue around this time last year and expected to mostly get a kick out of the title and cover art, but surprisingly totally fell in love with it! This was so much fun! Angel becomes a zombie but no one bothers to tell her, so she tries to muddle through what‘s happening to her on her own. I don't really recommend books to people much. But for a genre, I think u can't go wrong with Paranormal Romance. It has the romance which is nice but it has some kind of unreal entity where sometimes you wish you could be in that world.

If i had to recommend something, I would pick:
The White Trash Zombie series by Diana Rowland.

This book was fun, surprisingly a little heart-warming, and not very gross. Not gross is an important factor for me as it‘s generally my problem with all things zombie. Angel is a great character, and you‘ll find yourself rooting for her. Starting Dial A for Aunties now.

Because I‘ve had such a bad two weeks, a friend of mine bought this and sent it to me and my daughter. She said she thought we‘d enjoy it. It definitely looks like fun. 😊

I read it in less than 24 hours and it's pretty good! I loved it and it made me laugh a bit too which was nice since I wanted to cry before starting it.

I had friends here for the long weekend and we had a wonderful visit. My two best friends from NC. 💜 We went swimming and nature walking, visited a butterfly garden, saw the bats at the Congress St bridge, shot at the gun range, and enjoyed the company.

I got back from dropping them at the airport and found a package from my sis with the White Trash Zombie books! There‘s my October reads taken care of 😁.

I loved this book! Angel is a high school dropout with a felony record, she lost her latest fast food job, and she just woke up in the hospital after being found naked on the side of the road. To top it all off, she suddenly has an overwhelming craving for brains.

Finishing this puts me just over 11 hours for #DeweysReadathon. I‘m off to order the rest of the series

Angel, oh, my dear sweet Angel, how I love thee! According to Goodreads, this is the 4th time I‘ve read this book, lol! The story still holds up to time! I remembered that Angel did a lot of growing - book to book, but I forgot how much of a rough start she had. So much negative self talk. But the way she learns to identify and challenge those thoughts is a beautiful thing. And, as ever, so much hilarious sass! Now on to the next!

So, If it his was an iZombie type of thing (which I am super loving and binging) I would love to sample all different kinds, so I can enjoy different lifestyles and what not, if we are talking practically (ha practicality and zombies -- I know) I would think the healthier the person the better the brain? Like I wouldn't want a brain riddled with disease or tons of drug use.

Just finished this book. I was surprised how much I enjoyed it, I honestly wasn‘t convinced zombies were gonna be my thing. Flew through the last 10 chapters - couldn‘t put it down!

1. I don't really understand zombies yet (despite reading the book and watching iZombie), I feel that the only power would be either visions or strength. I guess I would go with strength.

2. I am guessing by love interest we are talking about the on-again-off-again boyfriend?? If so he is total trash! She deserves better, hell anyone deserves better. He obviously doesn't really care about her. Barely acknowledges her at times.

My husband‘s flight has been cancelled (uk storms) so he‘s back home working instead - I‘m secretly happy he‘s staying home for another night 🤫. So we are snuggled up on the sofa eating sweets while he catches up on work and I finally start this months #plc #paranormallovecrew book which finally arrived! Yay!

So, I just finished this book. I really enjoyed it (thank you #PLC for picking this as this month's book) but yeah, I found it super interesting. I didn't think I would really like a zombie book (they aren't my favorite super natural creatures) but... this might change-- as I am watching iZombie too and really really enjoying that.

I don‘t really like Angel very much, but she is definitely growing on me. The book was fun, humourous, and I love the whole smart zombie working where they can get brains (funeral homes, coroners, gravediggers etc) trope.

I will probably read the others at some point as I did enjoy them, but I have a long tbr to work my way through first.
