A solid second book in the series. I love the speed of these book and the multiple perspectives. This book focused a lot on the others, specifically the Crowgard. We get to see Meg and Simon begin to understand each other better. Simon and the rest of the Others begin to open themselves up to trusting their humans.

Sept #BookSpinBingo (no bingo this month...again😳)keep trying👻 @TheAromaofBooks & Sept #ReadwithMrBook @MrBook (book in my tbr for ever). 2nd book in a serie. We see in this book more details about both worlds cassandra sangue & the Others, how Simon is more related with Meg's world (I can't say much without spoil the story). There will be a gory battle. It is a slow pace story but I'm in the mood for supernatural creatures & this world. 3.8🖤👻

Sleepswithbooks Your candleholder 💛!! So fun!! 4y
Gissy @Pageturner1 @MrBook created this fun 2020 Readathon where each month you have to complete a challenge. Also @maich created another 2020 Readathon #ReadingwithMaja but with other challenges. It is fun because is a way to read more books from my huge tbr list. Some of the challenges are very peculiar and I love to look over my books to chose one that fit the challenges📚🤗 4y
Gissy @Stacypatrice I saw it in Marshall's and bought it to put my big candles. There are no many items to choose in stores. It was pretty empty. But I found it like you said, fun🤗 4y

Now starting the second book in The Others series.
On a side note: The title seems fitting because this cute kitty and her siblings must have murdered a bird over night or in the early morning because I came on my balcony and there were a lot of black feathers and the kittens weren't hungry...

The issues really heat up in this one. I'm interested in where it's going to go from here. And when Meg and Simon are going to figure things out.

Again I was impressed with this series. Anne Bishop continues to weave her magic, though it's subtle this time, as there's so much action going on and additions of characters. Here is my full review on Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/2889899426?book_show_action=false&from_rev...

Just finished book #2 of The Others series. Another great urban fantasy. Wish I had more time to read lately. But I am really enjoying this world and the characters. I like seeing the development of each character as the Others and Humans deal with each other. Excited to continue this series.

I was off work today and had to take my dad to have a minor outpatient procedure. Had to be at the surgery center BY 6am! I brought my book and read some but I was so tired I had to reread a few pages. An early night for me!

Love!!! I'm really going to have to control myself and not start the next book in this series immediately! The world created in this series really sucks you in. Blood prophets, werewolfs, vampires, and so many " Others". I have to finish some of my ebooks on I have borrowed from the library first but I will be jumping back into this story ASAP!

ravenlee I started the first book on a trip last September. I finished the series the moment the last book came out in paperback! There was no way I could stretch it out. Besides, all the action takes place in less than a year, so doesn't it make sense to read it all together? 7y
knittedgnome @ravenlee I had no self control and started book 3. Lol! I'm 44% in. But will for real not start the next book until I read a couple library books! 7y

I love how *full* this world feels. 'This stuff is happening here, that stuff is happening there; this stuff is this story, but that stuff is affecting this stuff.' And then everything escalates a level, and we have to wait for the next book.

#dearfavorite #thisisareread #fivestars

esurient Also, was anyone else surprised at first read at how quickly Jean was rescued in this series? I think Bishop's pacing says a lot: Rescue? That's not easy. Recovery? So much harder. 7y
esurient And I love, love, love that Meg's abilities were not the magic-wand solution to finding the baddie here. INTENSE WORK found the baddie. Meg's abilities were indeed useful, but in a more out-of-the-box way. (Intense, tedious, difficult work does not get nearly enough props in fiction, lament.) 7y

**I purchased a copy of this book for my own enjoyment, with no expectations of a review**

This book was a great read. Relationships deepen, and more of Meg‘s past is revealed. Bishop does a marvellous job of showing the difference between perceived monstrosity, and true monstrosity, as more of the details behind the 'gone over Wolf‘ and 'feel good‘ drugs are brought to light.

🎻🎻🎻🎻🎻 Highly Recommended

Well, two books in the same series in the same year, month, and week. That rarely happens! I own them in hardcover from previous Christmases but never got around to them. It took hearing the audios were good and them being in an Audible sale for me to finally get to them. I really like this series so far and have book 3 all queued up for next. I was a bit burned out on Paranormal type books, but Bishop is making me enjoy them again. Recommended!

I love this book, this whole series is excellent, but this book is when the author starts to get serious and builds up her world. The characters had depth and the author does a great job of weaving in back story. This is NOT an urban fantasy, but rather a reimagining of a world where humans are not only at the bottom of the food chain, but aren't even close to powerful. A fascinating read and a great combination of real politic and hope.

If you'd have told me before that I would be completely stuck on a series with shape shifters in it, I would have smirked and said no way! But here I am 🙋🏻 This world is very cool, the characters are lovable (or easy to hate!) + funny, and there is still no focus on romance. WIN WIN WIN 👍🏻
