Ten Thousand Skies Above You ()
Ten Thousand Skies Above You () | Claudia Gray
In this sequel to A Thousand Pieces of You by New York Times bestselling author Claudia Gray, Marguerite races through various dimensions to save the boy she loves.Ever since she used the Firebird, her parents' invention, to cross through to alternate dimensions, Marguerite has caught the attention of enemies who will do anything to force her into helping them dominate the multiverse even hurt the people she loves. She resists until her boyfriend, Paul, is attacked, and his consciousness is scattered across multiple dimensions. The hunt for each splinter of Paul's soul sends Marguerite racing through a war-torn San Francisco, the criminal underworld of New York City, and a glittering Paris, where another Marguerite hides a shocking secret. Each dimension brings Marguerite one step closer to rescuing Paul. But with every trial she faces, she begins to question the one constant she's found between the worlds: their love for each other."

🎧 This is the second book in the series. It took me a bit to get back into the story because it has been a while since I read book one. Once the story got moving I was sucked up quickly. The plot moves quickly and there is lots of tension. However, there is a big cliffhanger and I am not a fan of those. Also, I felt the character of Marguerite was too young for the story. I think she should have been at least 25ish. The narrator is really good...

TheSpineView I think she made the story better. One of the few narrators who does a good job with an opposite sex voice. The book is in the 4⭐ range (3.8) and 4.5ish ⭐ for the narrator. I will read book 3 at some point. Unfortunately the library does not have the audiobook for #3. Has the first two but not the third. What!?!😬🙁😖 4y

I enjoyed this series! This sequel is pretty fun, giving a little perspective on options in the lives of the characters and the price of making someone else's choices for them.

Fun read, I enjoyed discovering the new universes the main characters travelled through; even though I wished they were a bit more elaborately built. It made me look forward to read the last book in the trilogy and see how it ends (even though I am afraid the plot will be quite predictable).

Argh. I love this series. I‘m a huge Paul fan and I love how the narration flashes back to their times together. Margarette goes through the wringer in this one and questions everything she thought she knew. You just have to go straight to the next book though 😂 addictive. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I loved this sequel! I especially liked that it sort of threw a wrench in the main characters view on fate . And things got quite interesting in the different dimensions. Good story. Will continues to the next! I‘m still rooting for the underdog in the romantic triangle as usual...

How many Littens ended up with several inches of snow yesterday? I listened to my current audiobook while cleaning my house and finally working on taking down the Christmas tree before and after heading outside with my guys to have #snowyday fun. We did all the required tasks: snow angels, snowball fights, building a snowman ⛄️ and sledding.

Show us and tag pics of how your spent #snowyday

hermyknee 💙🥶☃️ No snow here, but it was a dreary day. I woke up in the morning to have some coffee and read a few chapters of The Wicked King... then before I knew it, I had finished The Wicked King and it was past time for dinner 😱 Time flies when you‘ve got a good book! 6y
alisiakae Enjoy! Just rain here in NC; yesterday was the perfect day to stay at home and read. 6y
wanderinglynn The snow hit here in D.C. last night & it‘s still snowing this morning. 6y

Chelleo @hermyknee great reading day!! 6y
Chelleo @4thhouseontheleft I love reading days no matter the weather! 6y
Crazeedi We only got a couple inches in western PA. The storm went south of us 6y
Chelleo @wanderinglynn Yes, my little guys just informed me that it was snowing and Bafana (the name they gave to their Snow Woman) is nearly covered up. 😂 6y
TK421 We got about 6 inches of snow over here. 6y
Gaylagal2 @chelleo We have 7 here in mid Missouri! I love it❤️Great pictures🤙 6y
RedxoHearts No snow here it was a really nice day out just a little breezy and in the 60s I think. It's always fun to see the pictures of snow other people get though :) 6y
DHill About 4” in SE Iowa. Spent the day putting Christmas away and starting a new book. 6y
cherinium St Louis here. I think we had about 8 inches by the time I hit the road to head to work at 4:30 yesterday morning. No time to measure or play. It only took me twice as long as normal, which made me happy. 😊 I'm one of the few who ALWAYS makes it to work when winter weather arrives, which can be frustrating. I have chosen to work in a 24 hour veterinary facility & feel it is my duty to show up. If only everyone felt the same. Whining over. 😉 6y
cherinium Today, I am ensconced in my reading room with a cup of hot tea and my kindle. I'm happy to just look at the snow from the window. I deserve it after the extra hours I worked yesterday. 🌨❄☃️ 6y
AlaMich We had about 4” here in Chicago. A good amount: enough to feel like it‘s winter but not so much that it becomes a PITA. It sounds like you guys had a ton of fun! 6y
inthegreensandblues We got a good snow here in NE Kansas. Great to not have a layer of ice underneath for a change! It looks so pretty and has made for a lovely weekend for reading. 😊 6y
CouronneDhiver Nope. I have a theory that, beneath a certain temperature, it‘s actually too cold to snow. That seems to be the case here this week. 6y
Gomer-andthebooks We had between 7” and 9” here in central Illinois. The kids went out and made snow angels on Saturday while sat and watched them through the window reading Empire of Storm TOG. 6y

I got hooked on the first book in this series and am bingeing my way through the other two. This sci-fi is part Time Traveler‘s Wife / Every Day / Hancock. As I‘ve been listening I can‘t help but wonder/imagine who I am in other dimensions. Can‘t wait to see how the chips fall in the final book. I really like the narrator, Tavia Gilbert.

🎧⭐️⭐️⭐️

The second book in this trilogy was a good, quick read while on breaks at work. This one definitely goes a bit darker and a there were some physics that went over my head. But still a good, quick YA. I have read the first two in Scribd and, unfortunately, they only have the third one on audio, which I can't listen to while at work. But book 2 did end of a cliffhanger, so I will have to read the last one soon.

Did I stay up way too late last night to read this sequel? You know I did. This series has really got me. I love how it deals with the ethical and philosophical questions the ability to jump between dimensions.

This sequel still had plenty of surprises and the cliff hanger at the end has me wanting to read the sequel immediately too!

I'm going to give this one ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. The plot was still great, but for the first part of the book the author is very repetitive. She starts out summarizing the first book, which I'm okay with but then kept repeating it to the point it was annoying and I would skip whole paragraphs. Once I got past that though I thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the book.

First of all, the covers in this trilogy are just incredible 😍😍😍😍😍 (yes again, it bears repeating 😁) Second: this is a good series — interesting concept, good world building, decent story, fairly likable characters. What's missing for me is the sense of urgency — somehow the suspense I should feel is just not there. Still, going to read book 3 as soon as I can — but after that these might go in the swap pile.

GypsyKat This one is on my TBR list! I'm glad to see positive reviews! 👍 8y
