Highest Expectation

The next book in my favorite series. So excited.

This story felt short & quick-paced, but it was a welcome return to Mercy's world. The characters still feel like old friends and it's nice to see how they grow & change (especially Jesse in this one), and how they stay exactly what I missed. After all the obstacles are set up so well, the solutions almost felt a little too neat. At the same time, they were clever & used the characters at their best. I always come out of these books wanting more.

Another great installment of Mercy. This one has more Baba Yaga, always fun, and introduced Aiden. 🖤☠️

And after increasing my GR reading goal 2x already, I just decided to let it stand at 182. So huzzah! 🎉

Took some time off in lieu today and finished my book ☺️
This is the last book in my Mercy re-read, so the next ones are brand new! I am so excited! Have to wait another year for smoke bitten though (I get the paperbacks 😋)

I quite like this one, underhill is an interesting place, that I would like to read more about.

I've almost caught up on this reread. The new book is out in a week and I can't wait! This was another one with the fae as the baddie, with Mercy and Adam fixing things for everyone. And it starts with a pretty dramatic scene.

Lots of fave characters, including love-to-hate Christy, make an appearance. I also love that things are heating up politically and we get a lot more about the fae in this book. This book does a good job of keeping the story contained in one book while still really situating the story in a changing world. Hard to do so far into a series, but really done well.

It had been a busy couple of weeks between shift work and visiting family. I now have some reading time, and I‘m FINALLY getting around to catching up with Mercy! ❤️

New year, new book, old series. Slightly confused since the creature on the front of this book looks like the creature from the last book but still excited anyway. I wish Book ten was in paperback already so I could buy it...

I hadn‘t been enjoying the last couple books in the series quite as well as usual, but I felt like this one put everything back on track. It was plot driven, fun and exciting and as usual, I loved all the characters! Hopefully book 10 continues in the same vein!

Adam Hauptmann is my book boyfriend 😍 I love the trust that he and Mercy have.

In other news, I survived working Black Friday. My back hurt so bad I could barely walk by the time my shift was over, but I survived. And I get to do it all again tomorrow 😒

Much needed bathtub recovery from my hectic thanksgiving... Lane was teething and miserable, baby girl is giving me heartburn (and I didn‘t even over eat!)

I haven‘t decided which of these I‘m going to start, or if I even have the energy to do more than just lay here. I dread working Black Friday tomorrow

Spent the last two days at a super relaxing quilting retreat! Finished this book which was great! Lots of fae which always fascinates me. Can't wait to read the next one! Patty Briggs is my favorite author of adult books, specifically the Mercy books.

Brunch and book this cloudy morning! Some homemade hash is just what the doctor ordered today!

Only one more left until I'm caught up in this series. This one was good. Not as much pack but more from newer characters Joel and Aiden. Briggs does a great job of keeping things fresh and exciting by introducing new characters as she goes along. Not sure if the current one (just out last month) will be the last one in series or not. #romantsy #osrbc

I absolutely love Mercy! I was a little bored with some of the meetings with the fae but other than that this was a great read. I really enjoyed the addition of Joel in the pack and I look forward to seeing more of Aiden. I love all the Mercy Thompson/Alpha and Omega covers but this is by far my favorite😁

I love a good capable heroine... and Mercy and Adam are a great leading couple for a continuing series.

Well, I didn't make it this time. I had a lot of fun though, and will definitely try again next time. I finished two books, almost done with this one, and made good progress on two others. I seem to be on a re-reading kick and Fire Touched is good enough that this is my third time reading it. Briggs did a great job of moving the world she built forward along with some essential character growth.

I'm already impatiently waiting for the next installment.

Now I have to wait months for the next installment. Boo! ⭐️🌟🔥🔥🔥

one of my favourite series. i love so many of the characters & appreciate how Ms Briggs is expanding the world-building. sometimes, i wince at the shades of cultural appropriation, but, well, i can't quit now. im sorry. i love Mercy too much.
