I haven‘t read a straightforward historical romance in years. I skimmed through the Spindle Cove series and this is the only one I actually read through and really enjoyed. Turns out it‘s a crossover with the Castles Ever After series which I now have to read. The author is great with fun and funny dialogue.
I had to overcome two obstacles to finally pick this one up: 1) learning to embrace the cheesy cover art for these historical romances and 2) my brain refusing to do anything but sing the title to the tune of “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” from Frozen
But I am so glad I got over myself and borrowed this on hoopla because goddamn was it a fun read for a lazy weekend! I will be checking out more Tessa Dare in the future for sure.
This book is included as the last book of two series and I almost skipped it because I thought I'd read it when I finished the first series. Turns out I didn't. I'm glad I went ahead and borrowed it because it's a cute story involving Charlotte (Diana & Minerva's sister of the Spindle Cove series) & Piers (Rafe's brother of the Castles Ever After series).
#ISpy: Bouquet on cover
I don‘t understand the appeal of seeing characters embarrass themselves. It must be popular, considering how many comedic movies seem to rest on embarrassment, but it isn‘t my cup of tea.
Piers and Charlotte find themselves accidentally engaged after a very unfortunate incident. Charlotte is trying to fix the situation while Piers is not. Watching these two circle each other and fall in love was a joy and funny. The HEA is such a good one that I can overlook any flaws that there may be in this delightful book. #romantsy
Tessa Dare never disappoints. I love, love, loved this book. Charlotte is endearing and relatable. Piers is completely swoon-worthy. I can't say enough good things about this book or the entire Castles Ever After series.
Book 5, and the last, of the Spindle CovMo e series. The series got better with each book. I have officially overdosed on Romance novels. No interest for awhile in books with shirtless men on the cover.
I finally got my book journal up to date so I can share my stats from last month. My February reads are in blue. I was slumping super hard in February (still am) so I relied heavily on audio and picked a lot of comfort reads. Still, seven during a slump isn‘t too shabby. My favorite for the month is tagged!
I‘m on a bit of a historical romance audio kick. After I finished Forever Your Earl, I was looking for another book narrated by Carmen Rose and this title, which was on my TBR, came up. I finished it in about 24 hours and was up until 1:30 am to do it. I‘ve never been so hooked on an audio but I loved Piers and Charlotte together! The dialogue was 😍🔥. I thought The Duchess Deal was my favorite Tessa Dare but this one is a contender. #romantsy
I‘m listening to my audio for a bit before bed and Amberley cat has decided to take up her perch as parrot/blanket on my shoulder.
Saturday afternoon reading with Jasper.
This love story was hilarious and packed with swoons and I wanted to punch the hero at one point. But all was good.
This historical romance was funny, sweet and 🔥. My first Tessa Dare and definitely not my last. Thanks @DGRachel @llwheeler @Christy2318 it was just as good as y'all said. Thoroughly enjoying #litsypartyofone
Changing to a #romantsy story for my evening #Litsypartyofone . This is a #blameitonLitsy ebook, it's starting off with a bang 😂
This was by far my favorite book in this series! I was absolutely in love! Maybe it was how Lord Granville was so cold hearted on the outside, but on the inside he was yearning to be wanted. or maybe it was how Charlotte was just a relatable character for me, or maybe it was actually how the book unravelled with each turn of the page? Actually it was all of the above! I loved every single word, and every single notion made in the book.
I forgot I even put a hold on this at the library, but it came on a week I really needed it! It was the perfect book to devour over 2 days of traveling by car with 3 littles up and down the east coast (when it wasn't my turn to drive, of course 😉). The premise is adoptable; I laughed out loud, and had unexpected heart-warmed feels. All the best things for a romance, really!
Excellent book! The characters are so very engaging, I think I laughed through the entire story. Love always wins in the end! Can not wait to read more from both Spindle Cove and Castles Ever After!
My first Tessa Dare but it definitely won't be my last! Light mystery, lots of misunderstandings resulting in scandal. And the funniest sex talk I've ever read! I'll never look at peaches and aubergines the same way again!
OMG! I'm dying over here! Talk about awkward. 😂😂😂😂
When I walk near my house I always include this spot. Water soothes me and with all the rain we've had lately everything is so green and lush.
Downloaded this from the library to listen to when I walk. Then realized I had it on my nook. Which works well as I don't always focus well on audio. It's nice to have the words to see as well.
Squeee! (Yes, I'm a fan) 😎 #romantsy #historicalromance #kindle #deal
This AMAZING Tessa Dare book (her newest) is only $1.99 today! It's one of my absolute favorites. ❤😘💋😍 #romantsy
I really, really, wanted to love this book. It combines two of Dare's series together with two secondary characters I enjoyed previously. I think the trouble is that they never moved beyond that for me; usually Dare's female leads have strong goals for themselves, not just marriage. Charlotte, while def more forthright then women of the day, lacks that. She wants more, but not sure what it is. And the "mystery" just felt, I hate to say this, lazy.
"Without another word, he plucked her off her feet--heavy, waterlogged velvet and all--and lifted her up on his horse. Then he mounted behind her, lashed one arm around her waist, and spurred his mount into a canter, carrying her off into the countryside. As if they were characters in some demented fairy tale. The Prince and the Sea Monster." I think this may be my favorite Tessa Dare which is saying a lot. ❤???⭐? #romantsy #osrbc
finished this one a few days ago & completely forgot about posting a review for it until I stated to make a pile of books to go back to the library
once again I really enjoyed this historical romance - once I started I didn't want to put it down (though that is typically the case with me) - & cannot wait to read whatever she writes next
🌟🌟🌟🌟
I love this heroine's joie de vivre. I was concerned she might become too fluffy, but I need not have worried. Tessa Dare gives her the depth of character necessary for me to believe that a couple with such a huge age gap could be equal partners. I'm sad to get to the end of the Spindle Cove series, but it's been a lovely reading marathon!

finally took a bunch of books back to the library yesterday & picked up these two holds which just came in 📖
First of all...Happy New Year Litsy friends!! 🎉🎉 I haven't been on for a while and have missed you all 😊 💗 Now about the book....what can I say...
I laughed soooo much through this book, from beginning to end, that my daughter asked about what was so funny..I gave her the parts that I had read and had her in stitches too. I now know why everyone loved it and all the puns that were used. A fabulous read which ended 2016 for me. #romansty #orsbc
So cute! You might recognize the heroine from the Spindle Cove series and the hero from another Castles Ever After book. I read this on a ten hour flight and this book made (almost) everything better.
A goddamn delight. 💋🔥

I was resistant to e-readers at first. Eventually I caved, when I wanted to read something that was only available as an e-book, and I hated reading books on my phone. A Canadian friend recommended the Kobo, which I chose largely because I could buy it at my hometown indie bookstore. It hasn't replaced physical books for me, it's just another way to read. I mostly use it for romance novels, and I LOVE it for traveling. #seasonsreadings2016
All these pretty pictures of books. My books are jealous. Here is a pile of books tjat I read, waiting tto be shelved.
🎉💃🏻❤️🎉💃🏻❤️🎉💃🏻❤️🎉💃🏻❤️🎉💃🏻❤️🎉💃🏻❤️ I'm almost tempted to mark this as a pick and I haven't even started it yet. That's how good Tessa Dare is and how good both of her current series are (this one ties the two together). I would very much like to be gifted a castle in Spindle Cove, please and thank you! #romantsy
After a month of dark spooky books I'm gonna dive in to some romance to lighten my mood. Tessa Dare's books alway make me smile☺️ The best part of days off is reading all day and making a big breakfast🍽☕️
