I‘m excited to start this today. I‘ve read a couple of St. James‘ other books and enjoyed them, so high hopes for this one.
Finished a couple more books and making some progress in this one. Just a few hours to go! #24in48
Pretty decent time for day one of #24in48 , I think. I‘ve started on this Christie novel and hope to get at least 2 more hours in tonight.
Just clocked in 7 hours and 18 minutes and my timer battery died!! 😧 I‘ll be starting over with my backup timer. I managed to finish I Found You and listened to a couple hours of Evvie Drake Starts Over on audio. I‘ll be starting Travels With Charley soon. #24in48
These are my possibilities for this weekend‘s #24in48 . I‘m looking forward to all of these and spending the whole weekend reading.
Starting Rules of Civility tonight while stuck under Jasper. Good thing the AC is on and it‘s cool in here.
Today‘s #bookmail from thriftbooks. Included was an old Powell‘s Books receipt from 1992.
Storytime for Jasper and Frankie 😁. I‘ve had this on my TBR shelf for a while. Excited to start it today.
Getting a couple more hours of reading in before spring break is officially over for me. I‘m at 75% of my current read. Hoping I can finish. #teachersoflitsy
Evening reading with Frankie. Started tagged book last night.
Books read in January. In progress: The Grapes of Wrath/The Ocean at the End of the Lane
I‘ve read some pretty great Christie books lately, but this one disappointed me when I read it during the #24in48 readathon. It has all the makings of a great mystery: a poisoned dart, set on an airplane, the murder of a money lender who blackmails clients, all right under Poirot‘s nose. Despite all that, I didn‘t care enough to be interested in who did it. Also, there‘s casual racism in all Christie‘s novels, but this one was especially gross.
Starting day 2 of #24in48 with 9 hours completed. I‘m hoping for less distractions today.
All cozied up with both kitties and ready to start #24in48 with Agatha.
Starting my extra day off with this book and my boys.
Sunday afternoon reads. I‘m a little more than halfway through Columbine, and although it‘s a difficult subject to read about, I‘m finding it interesting and informative. It‘s very well written and well researched. Taking a short break from it to start Sad Cypress now.
Sunday night reading with Frankie for company.
These are my first book purchases of the year. I‘m wanting to read more nonfiction this year. Started the tagged book last night. #bookmail
Unfortunately, it‘s back to work for me tomorrow, so I spent my last day off finishing up this. It reads like a rom com and is completely wonderful.
This was such a sweet and beautiful story. Loved it.
It would be WAY too hard for me to choose a best of list this year considering all the books I‘ve discovered and loved in 2018. I liked nearly all the books I read this year, rating all but six 3 stars or above. I will give a shout out to Lonesome Dove, though, for becoming a new all-time favorite.
For the last few years I have been using journals to track my reading and review books. Each year I buy a different one and since my current journal only has 2 more pages, it was time for another. This came in the mail today and I love it. It has a gorgeous soft cover, a table of contents, 100 pages for reviews, a checklist of 100 top fiction books, and a loan record. My only criticism is I wish it had spirals and more than one page for notes.
It‘s a rainy day in my part of Texas, giving me the perfect excuse to stay in and read all day.
My bookish Christmas haul. I got ALL 7 Harry Potter shirts from @outofprint , but some have been worn already and are not pictured.
Cuddling with Jasper today while trying in get in one last holiday read of the season. Merry Christmas! Hope everyone is having a pleasant day. 🎄❤️
@Librarybelle , I received this today. Thank you, I love the keychain!
Really enjoyed this book on audio read by Stephen Fry. It was the perfect listen for finishing up some holiday chores.
I loved Mattie‘s courage and spunk. I‘m not a big fan of westerns, but after reading Lonesome Dove earlier this year, I felt compelled to give this one a try. So glad I did, loved it!
These 3 short historical romance stories were just what I needed. I haven‘t read anything by any of these authors previously, but I especially liked the stories by Linden and Ashe. I might have to check out more of their work.
Started this tonight. Not my normal read, but I‘m liking it already.
This would have been even more delightful without the annoying repetitive music that accompanies the ending of each letter, but it was still fun and had a great narration by Derek Jacobi. I‘ll have to invest in a hard copy for the illustrations.
I haven‘t been posting much on Litsy, but I have been doing some reading here and there. I‘ll have to catch up on posting what I‘ve read. I finished this on my kindle today and really enjoyed it. I love that I randomly picked this one which happens to be set during Christmas time. It‘s not a big part of the story, but it is mentioned.
My weekend plans include cat cuddling and reading from these 4 books.
Starting a new book tonight with Frankie to keep me company.
