This was my first Susanna Kearsley and, while I like all her books, it's still my favorite. #Alphabetgame @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
Love the plot. Didn‘t love the book. But the end is well done.
She‘s home, safe and sound @Lovesbooks87 . Thanks! It‘s so fun to see everyone‘s thoughts written in your book! 😊 Thanks all for such a great round!💕

Julia cannot resist the pull of Greywethers, a country house full of history, secrets, and perhaps, a ghost, and as she figures out the story it has to tell, her life changes in ways she never could have expected. Kearsley‘s telling of all that happens in Julia‘s experience is superb, and I just loved it. This definitely won‘t be the last I read of this author.

This was a lovely book with a likable narrator and an engaging plot. It used a plot device that is not usually my thing, but it was handled well and I really enjoyed it. It's an #LMPBC book, so I will be sending it on its way soon!

Solid reading week - here's the #bookreport :
Read at least some of everything in my stack. Gave up on The Fairest of Them All. Have about fifty pages left of Mariana, so it should be finished today. Also read half of Match Made in Manhattan (not pictured) before deciding to bail on it. Really enjoyed the Haven Point books and will probably be finishing that series this week, since the rest came from the library yesterday.
@Cinfhen
Time for some #WinterGames posts!!
1. 266
2. 275 - Averaging 20-25 books/month, so I think I'm going to get there!!
3. Tagged - an #LMPBC book that looks intriguing
4. I actually love snowy weather as long as I don't have to drive in it!!

Hey there #LMPBC #GroupR ! Lots of action today!!! I received Mariana from @robinb and am super excited about reading it!! I finished The Prenup and will hopefully be sending it on its way to @hes7 early next week!!
@Lovesbooks87
Oh wow!!! So glad I chose this one as my pick for this round of #LMPBC! Can‘t wait to read more of this author‘s backlist.
While I had hoped for that ending, there were some twists and turns along the way, and the story and writing were totally absorbing. Some tears, some swoons and a very nicely-done happily ever after.
Loved! 5/5⭐️

About to dive into my pick for this #LMPBC round! I‘m excited, as this is my first to read from Kearsley, and I‘ve always heard wonderful things about her books! 🤞🤞

Taking the car to the mechanic's shop today to get a tire fixed, but at least they have comfortable seats there, so I'll bring my book and get some reading done!

“The past can teach us, nurture us, but it cannot sustain us. The essence of life is change, and we must move ever forward or the soul will wither and die.” ― Susanna Kearsley, Mariana
Day 15 #AdventRecommends
Not surprised this book won the Catherine Cookson Fiction Prize. An excellent book, and my favourite Susanna Kearsley book. Twin time lines that come together in an interesting way.
Definitely recommended if you enjoy historical fiction, mysteries and books with a hint of a ghost story.
📚 Mariana
🖋 Jill Mansel (hard to choose there are soooo many wonderful M authors)
📺 Magnum PI (I may be old enough to have had a childhood crush on Tom Selleck.*ahem)

We bought a bunch of books here today. Now to get them home. 😬
Maybe this one won‘t tempt me to throw things 🙃
(That‘s gonna look so weird later on the book‘s page without any context)
For the fact that I don't usually read romance or hist.fic. this was both unusually engrossing for me. I love realities blended with magic and I think that's what kept me intrigued along with some very enjoyable characters (a Scottish brogue helped too 😍). The romance story was still somewhat trite and predictable but not in a roll-eyes-constantly sort of what. This is a must read if you like these genres!
I‘m on chapter 8, and I‘m not feeling this book, but I hate to DNF books. Gah!
Update: So I decided to DNF this book for now. I just wasn‘t feeling it. I may pick it up again at a later time.
In no particular order, and with no claims of being a complete list, some of my favourite books read in 2017. Not pictured since I got them from the library: As You Wish by Cary Elwes (audiobook), A House Without Windows by Nadia Hashimi, From the Tundra to the Trenches by Eddy Weetaltuk
My favorite Susanna Kearsley book! Julia, a contemporary book illustrator, "time slips" back to 17th century England #timeaftertime. She finds herself living the life of Mariana Farr--At first it is just for a few hours before she returns to the present. However, each trip lasts longer and longer....

Made myself a chart to keep track of #192019challenge (read a book published each year from 1920 to 2019). It's still pretty empty but I'll fill it 🤓
Just added Mariana as my 1994 book. I thought it would be my 2010 book but turns out overdrive was showing me the audiobook pub date not the original pub date.
This was a re-read. I love this book and this author. Mariana was the first Kearsley I ever read and I've been slowly reading the rest of her books. I think I only have one left. 😭 I've enjoyed every one of her books but Mariana remains my favorite.
About halfway through and pretty hooked on this audiobook. It is great so far! Gus approves since he is a shameless lap cat and it means more uninterrupted naptime for him. #catsoflitsy
Forgive the stunningly artistic collage 😕 ... this is the rest of my #Litsypartyofone for tonight. Ice cream, audiobook, and my zen koi game. After several busy weekends in a row, and a fairly stressful day at work today, it's just what I need. As always, thanks @Ambrosnazzy for hosting!
#bookhaul Cicero is great, but he was missing the magic I needed out of my summer solstice read, so I went to the bookstore and said "I need something kate morton like, but a bit magical, please." This is what I came away with. And yes, I did give in and buy my first Nora Roberts (I did it for the shiny cover!) I guess that makes me officially an adult now? All my friends moms had her books growing up. Excited to get lost in one of these tonight!
Started this audiobook tonight. It's my first Kearsley, been wanting to give her a try for a few years now. It'll be my 2010 book for #192019challenge too.
When I saw the prompt #thebacksofwomen, I immediately thought of the gorgeous covers by the amazing Susanna Kearsley. She's one of my all time favorite authors. #marchintoreading 💙💜💟📚📖
Sorry I haven't updated in awhile. I will try to keep up with this a bit better this year. Anyway, I really enjoyed this historical fiction with some paranormal elements, some time travel, and of course some romance. If you are a fan of Diana Gabaldon, like me, then you need to check out Kearsley's novels. (I liked The Winter Sea a little bit more than this one, but both good!)
Rereading my favorite book from last year.
Love this Book!
The romantic stories I read are usually classics or historical fiction. I heard that Susanna Kearsley books have those types of vibes, and I found that to be true of Mariana. I have more of her books on my TBR. Note: There are some supernatural elements and time travel, but it is done well I think.

Here are two light and fun #timetravel books for this week's #FunFridayPhoto. I enjoyed them both!
My new most favorite book. I've read it twice already, and I'm sure I'll reread it again soon.
Quite different from my usual picks, but a nice change of pace.
But what about poor Geoff???
Just started this and interested already. I've read some of her other books and liked them but I did have some problems getting into one or two of them. Hopefully this one keeps my interest!
I just got this tattoo the other day and this description appears near the end of the book I was already reading. I love it when books come into my life at the right moment!
I'm really enjoying this book! I would love to see the homes she describes, to live near a little village in England with so much history under every stone. The past-life plot device is really well done, it definitely helps drive the storyline.
