Breezy woke up a year after her death to a recently dead man over her shallow grave and lots of dead birds. Not only is she alive again but she heals fast, doesn‘t die (even when she tries) and can sense when those around her have killed before. Learning more about what she is now takes priority when she ends up on the radar of a group that hunts people like her.
Interesting world and premise.
I forgot to post this one the other day. I enjoyed Shallow Graves a lot but I wish there was more. I hope there will be a follow up of Breezy's story and run-ins with more of the paranormal community.
Really enjoyed this one. Dark, gritty, and thought-provoking. I have a soft spot for the undead and cults (when it comes to books....sounds weird out of context 😂), so this book was right up my alley. Great read if you love dark supernatural/paranormal YA. Will have to read the author‘s other book. That looks great as well.
Haunting novel about murder, revenge, and a world where monsters—human and otherwise—lurk at the fringes.

Audiobooks are definitely helping my slump. Starting this one now!
I was impressed with this creepy YA novel. The story immediately grabbed my attention and I enjoyed learning about Breezy's past. My complaints are that there are several characters introduced but we never get to fully understand their motivations or they just disappear from the story line altogether. Also, will there be a sequel - because sooo much is left unexplained/unresolved!
Hubby has an early morning so we only got in the 1st episode of GoT season 2 and now I'm settling in for the night with this book.
“Our brains aren‘t designed to handle that much emptiness.” Pg 93
Compelling #firstline -- hurricane-worthy, even!
Pre-hurricane pumpkin spice coffee and new book, because why not? #yolo 😉🤓
This was... a heck of a lot different than what the description made it out to be like.
.
And I loved it because of that.
There were a few things left unexplained/unsolved, but overall i enjoyed following Breezy as she discovers who she is now after death.
Very well written. 4⭐️

This was fun! It was super fast paced, and interesting. I loved the lack of romance and the hints at a bigger world. There was a great few moments of awareness here too, especially about violence against women. I was impressed with it. It's fun and aware and spooky!
I liked this...it was different. I am just not sure about the ending.
A half-Chinese, half-Irish bisexual MC who knows space junk and is undead? Yaaaaas.
When Breezy wakes up in a shallow grave one year after her death, she doesn‘t remember who killed her or why. All she knows is that she‘s somehow conscious and able to sense who around her is hiding a murderous past.
Now she must set out to find answers and discover what is to become of her in the world to which she now belongs—where killers hide in plain sight, and a sinister cult is hunting for strange creatures like her.
#TBR 😱📚
I didn't exactly love this book but I didn't hate it either. I like the supernatural content and found it interesting but the story repeated itself a lot. So much that I would recognize it and just pass it. I'm still kind of confused on who brought Breezy back to life.
Yay for libraries! I have been wanting these books but didn't have the money to buy them. Starting Shallow Graves today.
An interesting tale about a girl discovering how she became the magic being she is now.
Paranormal teen books aren't my cup of tea, but this one wasn't unbearable. Cliches almost balanced out by snappy, realistic dialogue.
Creepy and weird teen horror. Girl wakes up in her grave and discovers that she can sense murderers. Read this one in a sitting.
This book was kind of a mess. Could have been so interesting but the actual point of the plot was kind of all over the place. There was so much going on at so many points in time. Almost DNFed in the middle because I got bored/annoyed. Also may be a series?? Can't tell. 2.5 - 3⭐️
