4⭐. I thought this was more enjoyable/exciting/on edge than some of the series in the past. I hadn't read any in awhile and thought the storylines might be worn-out and recycled. I was wrong.

~closing words by Stephanie Plum in Twisted Twenty-six
Soooo many. But the one I'm reading now is Twisted Twenty-six by Janet Evanovich, a Stephanie Plum book.

I‘ve always liked this series. If you are a Grandma Mazur fan, you‘ll enjoy this one!
A Stephanie Plum book is always a quick, fun read. Grandma Mazur is at it again. She is total goals on how I want to be when I am a senior citizen. As usual I cracked up laughing throughout the book. Anybody else have simultaneous crushes on Morelli and Ranger, just like Stephanie and I? 😍😉😊
Just finishing this one on my Nook. I can‘t believe I have read this many books in a series but Stephanie Plumb reminds me of a modern day Lucy Ricardo bounty hunter. Always a good laugh.
Apparently I‘m still on fluff reading kick after all. Mostly what you expect from a Stephanie Plum book. This was better than quite a few of the recent installments because there was lots of Grandma.
I mean the ghost writer has changed hasn't it, and the series bible the new one was given isn't up to scratch. I could make a list of all the issues, but I'd be here a while, but basically, this isn't very good, it doesn't have the usual feel of the series and if I hadn't got such a soft spot for the series, it would have got even less stars. Bad. Times.
Of all the Stephanie Plum books, this is the only one that ends on a cliff hanger. It cleary sets things up for the next book. Grandma is very introspective, and Stephanie is also at a personal crisis. This book has a very different tone from previous books.
I swore I wasn‘t going to continue this series after being bored with the last few books. This one has had some favorable reviews by Littens though, & I‘ve always liked the audio versions. I usually make my sister listen to a book on trips (she‘s not an audio fan), & she laughed several times & wanted to know about Grandma. I wonder if the theme of growth was an effort to address fans‘ frustrations. A little character growth & a lot of Grandma 👇
My sister and I have busted out of Ky for a couple of days in Asheville. Started the tagged book on the way down but mostly listened to podcasts. I‘m hanging out with the fish & dog at the bead store while my sister shops. I‘m disappointed that I can‘t go to Malaprops bookstore—it‘s only open by appt to residents. ☹️
Stephanie Plum's spunky grandma Mazur briefly married local gangster Jimmy Rosolli which ends tragically after 45 minutes with Jimmy'ssudden death. Typical bungling and hilarity ensues As Stephanie and Lulu attempt to solve the mystery of the missing keys that Jimmy's death left them with & putting Grandma's life in jeopardy. Working on this mystery while attempting to continue with their regular apprehensions & Morelli & Ranger interventions 😁
Loyalty...it can be a strength, but it can also be a weakness. I have remained loyal to this series despite the fact that it may not be deserving any longer. This one was better than the previous, but it‘s essentially just another book that has been cranked out. There isn‘t even character development anymore.
Received a Kindle Paperwhite as a belated birthday gift. Although I feel like I am majorly cheating on my books, I‘m giving this a go. Diving into a guilty pleasure, the Stephanie Plum series Twisted Twenty-Six
Better than twenty-five mainly because there was more Grandma. But like Stephanie feels stagnant, this series too has gone a bit stagnant. Or maybe I‘m a bit too old. The first book did come out in 1994, the year I graduated high school. And so I could relate more to Stephanie then. But now, well, maybe my middle age is showing. She lacks direction and has commitment issues— it‘s no longer charming. It just feels tired and done.
Yay for libraries! 🎉
Now that I‘m (somewhat) settled, I found the on-base library. I got a nice book-sized tote bag and lanyard for signing up. They‘re also have a summer reading challenge, which I also signed up. Plus my first checked out library book.
Let the games begin!
These books are a nice little escape from reality, and you always know exactly what you‘re going to get.
I've been avoiding this author for so long only because I think her covers are boring. Well, reading this has changed my mind on judging a book by its cover! (somewhat lol) This was such an interesting story with very unique and deeply developed characters. I laughed out loud many times. I can't wait to get my paws on more her books!
Another good one. Took me forever to read it because I have been in a major reading slump. I'm very curious about the next book in the Stephanie Plum series.
This was a fun instalment of a series that has been seeming a bit tired of late. There appear to be some hints that Stephanie might be getting a bit of a shake-up going forward. Here's hoping.
Maybe I'm a little simple and easy to please, but these always make me laugh out loud. I can't believe there are 26 of them (nearly 27).
Ok. Back to the books I put down....
O how I love this series. And I really feel this one is much better than some of the other recent ones in the series. I feel like I didn‘t get enough Ranger time in this one though. I laughed until I cried in some places so I‘m using this for #makesyoulol for #booked2020
Caught up on the Stephanie Plum series. Not my favorite installment, but enjoyable. #audiobook
Because during a pandemic who wouldn‘t want to spend a little bit of time with Stephanie, Ranger, Morelli, Lula and Grandma Mazur?
This edition of Stephanie, Lulu and Grandma was great! I laughed through a lot of it, Stephanie was more focused on a future (maybe something will come from that) and there wasn‘t much Joe/Ranger drama. The old mobster drama was funny though. The last couple books in this series almost had me quitting, but this one was more on track with what I loved about these books years ago.
Keep telling myself that I am gonna stop reading this series. Yes, I have read all of them. 😱
Is it predictable? Yes. Are the characters ridiculous and unrelatable? Yes. Do I read every book in the series? Yes, because I love the crazy characters and predictability. I just can‘t wait to see how Stephanie destroys her next car 😂
I love the characters in this series. Grandma Mazur has always been a favorite. If you like the series, you won‘t want to miss this one!
This book was a huge surprise for me, and in a very good way!! There was a ton of character growth while still retaining the humor that we all come to expect from the Stephanie Plum series. We still have some of the repetitive qualities of prior books (quick backstory in the beginning, etc), as well as mentions of previous FTAs, and some newer ones... 👇🏻
My first book of 2020 finished. 1/75 #twentyinthetitle I am doing a lot of challenges and this filled one prompt in 6 of them. There were a few where it just didn‘t work. Pop Sugar is first and foremost though, and this filled one of the advanced prompts. Moving on to Wonder, for one of the #Booked2020 prompts.
A little self care to end the first day of 2020. I really needed it!
Love this @BookNAround my #lastfirst books are last: The Family Upstairs and my first is the tagged book!
Finished this book just in time to count it for 2019. Book 4 for #24B42020 @Clwojick @StayCurious @Bookworm54 #wintergames #teamnutcracker
Tbr book 16 pts
I am excited that I was able to read every published Stephanie Plum book this year. Well, the main 26 books. I only read one of the holiday shorts from the series. This is a fun, dont have to think hard, fluffy series.
Today‘s candle is called Santa‘s Cocoa and smells of hot cocoa. So I picked the tea inspired by The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe. It is a black tea with cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, cloves, and chocolate. Trying to fit this book in before the New Years. This series books are fast reads and funny. @Clwojick @StayCurious @Bookworm54 #wintergames #teamnutcracker

Interesting change in tone for this Stephanie Plum outing... with the exception of accidentally throwing a Molotov cocktail at her own car - this was not played for laughs. Since it ended on a cliffhanger (sort of) it‘s entirely possible that the dissatisfaction that Stephanie felt about all aspects of her life will actually carry over into the next book and some character development might actually stick!
Finished in one day and I loved it! The last few books in this series have been disappointing, especially the last one. This book was great! Back to some of the original antics, but Stephanie also kicked ass. Love that her Grandma Mazur was a major character in this one. It did feel a bit like maybe Evanovich is beginning to wrap up the series, but I really liked the direction this one takes. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
I somehow missed when this book came out....time to read it in one night! I love me some Ranger ❤
My Day After Christmas tradition: pajamas all day, coffee and a fun book. Pup in my lap and another behind my head on the back of the chair. Heaven!
#WinterGames #MerryReaders #TBRRead Another one off Mount TBR.
Yes, the series is formulaic. Yes, the series is pretty fluffy/silly. Yes, I still largely enjoy an annual visit with some of my favorite characters.
I had surgery on my right (dominant) hand yesterday. As one of my childhood friends commented yesterday, “good thing it wasn't [my] reading hand!“
Loved it! But then, I do love all the stephanie plum books. And this is the first one to have a cliffhanger! We have to wait til next year to find out what happens next, but according to Evanovich, this story line is a 3-parter. Heavy sigh. BTW, Ranger or Joe Morelli?? Personally, I‘d choose ranger!
Evanovich‘s clear and clever writing draws you in and then delivers a knockout punch. #janetevanovich #twistedtwentysix
Time for a quick and easy read while I watch students stress over final exams. Gotta love the library during finals week!
