This was a fun retelling of Aladdin. There are strong heroines, a sweet love story, and magic.
The book is from the jinni's point of view and I quite enjoyed how the author told the jinni's thoughts.

The plot moved along quickly and it did seem a bit rushed at points. It is a stand alone so while it could have been fleshed out more, I have been in the mood for one offs and not being tied to a series.

Clearing out some of my backlog from the TBR shelf. I should have listened to this a long time ago...because I really enjoyed this reimagining of the tale of Aladdin and the Jinni, also the fantastic narration by Cassandra Campbell didn't hurt either. With familiar yet unique characters and an engaging, storyline, I was totally there for this.

Strong heroine, swoon worthy hero and a fantastic twist to an already brilliant tale. The style of writing made the story come alive. Turning the last page and seeing THE END was the only disappointment I got from this book.

This book is definitely more of a tween love story... great message about doing what's right even if that's not what is easy.

It's a retelling of Aladdin. I used to think that Aladdin's djinn was huge, scary and male, but Zahra was beautiful and clever. Though, too much romance for my liking :(
