A celtic Beauty & the Beast story. I definitely got B&B meets an Irish Outlander vibes. (Mind you Anluan is no Jamie Fraser, but who is?) #FairytaleReadingChallenge @charityann

Beauty & the Beast retelling. The Belle of this story goes on her will to Whistling Tor a cursed place with enchanted forest where “ghostly persons?” live, mirrors that that can show you the past. The story has some interesting variations but has much from the original. I really enjoyed it but I think it was too long.3.4/3.5⭐️It has higher rating in GR & Litsy. Title has the word Heart❤️On the cover so it complies for me with #Readingwithmaja😜
I love fairy tale retellings, and this retelling of Beauty and the Beast came at just the right time. It was a bit predictable at times, and maybe a bit too neat (I like my fairy tales darker), but overall it was a great story to disappear into during my commute.
Thanks for putting it on my radar @AllisonM89 👍 #NewYearWhoDis

Here are my April totals. I would say that Heart‘s Blood was my favorite! So happy to read Juliet Marillier again! But I really loved A Good Neighborhood as well. So emotional and a book that is speaks a lot of truth. And We Need to Talk About Kevin really captured me. I can‘t wait to watch the movie. 11 books in total which I am happy with.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Loved this book! This is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast. It takes place Ireland. Caitrin is our Belle and she is a strong female character who has a painful past that she is running from. She is very relatable. I really love Juliet Marillier‘s writing so I definitely recommend this!
Half hour in and I‘ve spotted:
🐰 A Dog- Fianchu in Juliet Marillier‘s Heart‘s Blood
🐰 Female Character- Caitrin in Juliet Marillier‘s Heart‘s Blood
Can‘t wait to finish this great book during this readathon! Happy Easter!

Today, I had to say goodbye to my Pepsi boy. He loved books almost as much as I do. My husband always said he was definitely my cat. I'm heartbroken and don't know what to do with myself. 💔 I'm going to try to read because I don't want to do anything else.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was a wonderful retelling of Beauty and the Beast. This is not a strict Beauty and the Beast adaptation, but you will recognize certain Beauty and the Beast themes throughout the entire novel and is still well done. Be warned that this is not a light read, and includes mentions of suicide and abuse. Overall, this was a sweet romance centered in medieval Ireland that is full of courage, mystery, love, loss, and forgiveness.
The beast in any incarnation is an #ownerofalonelyheart - also how did I miss having this book? #beautyandthebeast #retelling #anglophileapril
I really enjoyed this Beauty and the Beast retelling with so much more added in. I loved the twists and turns and the added fantasy elements. Definitely one I recommend! Featuring my new socks from the #happilyeverafterswap from @sprainedbrain

Feeling a bit under the weather and it‘s to snow all day so I‘m enjoying a little 24 hour readathon. So far the dogs are chill and cuddly so I‘m hoping to get a lot read. #dogsoflitsy #snow #readathon
This was a retelling of “Beauty and the Beast”. I didn‘t catch it while reading, though I see traces of it, knowing after the fact. I really enjoyed it. I quite liked the characters. I did – sort of – figure out the twist earlier on. Well, it flitted through my head as a possibility, then disappeared again. But, that didn‘t take away from my enjoyment of it.
Juliet Marillier is the ABSOLUTE QUEEN of fantasy. This is a wonderful stand-alone book!
I've been in bed with a really bad cold since Friday and this book has been the simple sweet distraction I needed. A really nice beauty and the beast retelling set in oldey time Ireland.
When I need a #comfortread I reach for fairy tale retellings. To me, they're like a warm hug. Perfect for reading on a rainy day, with a blanket, cup of tea, and snuggling kitty. #anditsaugust
This is my all time favourite #beautyandthebeast #retelling and not enough people have read it!! They're missing out on such a gorgeous and interesting tale

I started this for a reread at the dog park yesterday and couldn't put it down. A beautiful story!
Juliet Marillier became my favorite author after I read this book. Like her other novels, it features a strong female protagonist, and takes the reader through a heartbreaking, uplifting, challenging and character-building journey that leaves a lasting impression on your heart.
