Especially after she asks Cel for help As Cel attempts to learn more about the woman, she begins losing time, misplacing things, passing outthe job is becoming dangerous, but she can't let go of this mysterious woman. Who is she? Why is she so fixated on Cel? And does Cel have the power to save her when she's still trying to save herself?

Looking through my lists I thought my faves for this were Maus, Fun Home, Genderqueer, Queer: A Graphic History and Persepolis but then I wanted to tag something slightly less well known! This is a fun gothic read (not too scary) with casual queer representation which I always love, and a tender message about the unnamed frequently disabled victims of medical abuse and what it takes for a disabled woman to give them their stories back

ChasingOm Ooh, this sounds great! 4y
Megabooks I‘ve read a couple by Asian people. 4y
Megabooks I tend to read more graphic memoirs instead of novels. Do these count? 4y

Combine mental health support, body-positive imagery, a ghost story, queer supporting characters, library science, POC characters, and mental health history in mixer, shake thoroughly, and pour out this lovely graphic novel. I really enjoyed this read and loved details like stretch-marks on our protagonist. I would have liked to see more happen with the Board, but that‘s it. #Comic #Ghost #MentalHealth #History #Archive #LGBTQ

This important graphic novel asks the question, what if haunted hospitals and asylums aren‘t haunted by ‘dangerous mad people‘ but by generations of medical abuse and forgotten people who were punished for being ill? A young archivist in a medical museum confronts this and I loved every minute.

This is commentary on depression and anxiety, with a side of medical ethics, told by way of a ghost story. I appreciated the depiction of depression snd there were some moments when I thought the boyfriend might take away the main character‘s agency do I was a little nervous but it works out by the end of the story.

This was a fun read. Celeste gets a job as an archivist at a medical museum that is haunted. Celeste is trying to deal with her own mental health issues as she tries to unravel what is going on at her new job. I really enjoyed the art and great fashions the artist used.

Revenge4bess Sounds wonderful. Sorry I haven‘t written you back yet. I‘m recovering from surgery. 4y

I was all in for the premise of this - clinically depressed protagonist gets a job as an archivist at a haunted medical museum - but the execution fell flat. The art style feels younger than the story is, the pacing was odd, and several major plot points were left unresolved by the end. The author mentioned in the afterword that this concept started as a novella and perhaps it would have been better there with more room for depth and detail.

cozypunk Thanks for your disappointment?? I just stacked it because your review is intriguing. 4y

I really enjoyed this one. Cel is a messy, not always nice person who is struggling, and I could feel her desperation to feel better. She takes things out on other people and won‘t get the help she needs, but she feels real. The mystery/ghost/haunting element is the right amount of creepy.

An archivist lands a job at a medical oddities museum buy it‘s haunted. I love everything about this book: The art. The story. The setting. Mental health issues rep. Queer rep. A Black librarian. A Black male Chief Curator. I also was lucky enough to have the illustrator, Steenz, sign my copy at ALA Annual. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

This graphic novel has the best depiction of depression I've read in ages. Sure there are ghost elements, but ultimately this is about understanding and healing for both the main character and those around her.

Recommend this for everyone!

This book was about a girl dealing with mental health issues that is haunted by ghost at the archive museum she works at. The ghost believes she can find out the museum‘s dark secret, and she does. The illustrations were really cool. 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Here‘s #Ozzie you can really see his 6th toes in this picture. #catsoflitsy

#currentlyreading Almost finished with this book. Been reading it during down time to and from doctor‘s appointments and waiting room time. Had 2 MRIs today on my back. I may have a bulging disc. I was in that thing for an hour and it was LOUD!! They gave me ear plugs but that didn‘t help much. I prayed and talked to God a lot in my head. That‘s what got me through. Anywhoo, I don‘t want to be a downer. I love you guys, you‘re ALL AWESOME!! ❤️❤️❤️

I stopped by the library today and picked up these shiny beauties! Then I proceeded to read the top one in the library parking lot. It was a graphic novel about a women fighting for her own mental well-being while working as an archivist at a medical museum. It was well illustrated and well conceived. I liked it! And I‘m hoping to read the other books during the rest of the week that I have off!

Zoe approves.

Jennick2004 I‘m totally laughing out loud that you read it in the parking lot 🤣🤷‍♀️ 6y
BookFreakOut Darius is SO good, I hope you enjoy it! 6y
LiteraryinPA @Jennick2004 I know! It was such a luxury to have off from work and no particular clock to punch for the errands I was doing. I was just going to read the first couple pages... but then I got sucked in. 😋 6y

I thought this was a neat graphic novel featuring someone with mental health issues. She's working as an archivist and as she works through a mystery she also works on her well being.

Who doesn't love a ghost story? Seriously though Ivy Noelle Weir and Steenz created a very special story in these pages, one with vibrant characters who leapt off of the page and all worked their way into my heart, and the mystery surrounding them is one that is more than just a ghost story, especially for our central character Cel. 🖒❤ definitely a page turner--once I started, stopping was pretty much impossible

leahbird Have you read Raina Telgemeier's 7y
RebelGrrrl Yep! And it was pretty cute 7y
leahbird It was my niece's first graphic novel and she loved it! She loves ghosts and skeletons and bats, such a little weirdo like her mom and aunt. 😉 7y

New comics day!! The best thing about living in Salt Lake is the fact that we have Black Cat Comics which is legit one of The BEST shops around and the valkyries that are on staff are knowledgeable and recommend some amazing comics I might not find when left to my own devices. Find a comic book store like this and you've found the closest thing to heaven on earth. #comics #newcomics #comichaul

RebelGrrrl Eternity Girl is one issue in, and I am not at all familiar with the character outside of this comic and whoa! You guys! This comic is intense and just.... I wasn't expecting it to hurt so good 7y
