Sangria + a book = best way to spend a Sunday.
It's math at work. ^_^
Seriously this history of Milicent Patrick and the insight into animation and being a woman in creative industries is fantastic. This book is funny at moments, and the passion Mallory O'Meara has transcends the page.

3 books of poetry, much of which I've drunk like water these past few hours and one non-fiction book that looks small but is going to be much more than its size suggests. Sometimes a little poetry is needed to break your heart and remind you of the beauty of the world and language.

I..... needed this book on a level I didn't realize. This book was brilliantly written, and gave me a whole lot of feelings as I read, sadness, hope, and (of course) a good dose of anger. Definitely a must read and a reminder that anger is a good thing and can be connective and inspiring and be the start to something truly revolutionary. Damn. I *absolutely* needed this.

ohyeahthatgirl I love listening to this show, but reading it might have been even more my jam. And the new ones come out very soon! 6y
RebelGrrrl I love reading it because I can process things slightly better and it already feels like the words are sticking more than they do when I listen, but I have to admit, Cecil makes this show what it is. His voice is everything and as a result it's a little weird to be reading rather than listening lol 6y

My collection of the Reluctant Royals series is now complete! I am super stoked to read and finish these books! Alyssa Cole is a brilliant romance writer and her books are absolutely worth collecting and keeping to read--and then re-read! These books are pure joy

This was a super sweet book! The characters were wonderful and the small town nova scotia setting was lovingly detailed and I felt very much transported into this story. It's a lovely ode to comics, small towns, family, and growing up.

This book has been on my library TBR shelf since I first got it as a library hold after it was published. I left work early yesterday because of not feeling well, and my excitement for free comic book day helped me decide that this was the next book to read! It's a lovely, sweet read thus far, and I am glad to see Faith Erin Hicks expanding her creative endeavors! I love her work in general 💖 #amreading #ya

Did I read this while I was on the reference desk and the library was momentarily quiet? Yes. Did the ending make me tear up and almost cry while at said desk? I'm not telling. I love this book, and Pura Belpré is absolutely someone all aspiring librarians should know and keep her spirit in your work! 💖📚

Loved this book! I sat down yesterday and just read it straight through and by the end it felt like I'd gone on a roller coaster ride! The characters are great, and Bri is relatable and though she might be too stubborn at times, she learns from her mistakes. Super sweet and wonderful book, and a wonderful ode to rap-a heavily misunderstood genre- and the spotify playlist is a excellent accompaniment if you truly want to dive into this book!

This book is the reminder you find books when you need them. I was browsing the shelves at a county library that I hadn't been to and I found this book and it called to me. The first time I read Rock She Wrote it changed my life. I never thought love of music and love of writing could go together, and that realization was huge. While I didn't pursue the path of music critic, I did find my way into libraries, and I recently had the opportunity to act as a juror for the next round of submissions for hum.slcpl.org and it was amazing and challenging and a dream come true

Sundays are becoming a favorite day for hanging out at the salt lake city public library and checking out the #zine collection. Today I revisited one of my fave zines, the ouija interviews and read a delightful reflection on how there is no right way to meditate and other thoughts on life. The creativity involved in these zines always inspires me to want to make more of my own! ❤

This #24in48 readathon is amazing and I have finished another book! Whoa! Pulp is a very sweet novel, and the two storylines together worked very well. I am a sucker for these kinds of storylines where history comes to life in meaningful ways and I love that this book exists for queer teens as a reminder that being out in the 50s was a very different process, and terrifying. #amreading #queerlit

Therefore, Satan." #24in48 #queerlit #transvoices

RebelGrrrl I started this book with the story from RJ Edwards, who is also a host on my fave podcast, Book Club for Masochists, and it was an excellent, thoughtful story. The voice in the story I'm currently reading by Aisling Fae ( Satan Are You There? It's Me, Laura) is already one I'm enjoying and I cannot wait to see where this goes 6y

If you told me a year ago that sports comics from Boom! Studios would make me care about something like dodgeball I would have laughed at you and asked you to go read better comics.
