I really like Rodriguez's art, but I find Latour's storytelling a but frenetic. Gwen is always lurching from mistake to mistake, crisis to crisis. That's certainly part of the larger Spiderman brand. It's really fun to see alternate versions of Wolverine and Kitty Pride.

Across the Spiderverse was so good I had to go back to the source. 🕷

Brilliant graphic novel! Miles is a rich character who, when bitten by a mutant spider, transforms into Spider-Man, and yes, he‘s a teen attending a boarding school M-F. Only his dad and his best friend Ganke know of Miles‘s secret identity…

Who doesn't like a happy shark in a bubble? I mean c'mon!

Another excellent story! Captain Marvel wants Kamala to help with a team that can stop criminals before they commit the crime. She is excited for this except when it gets personal. Wonderful graphics and a good read.

Great just great! Lots of action in this one between Hydra showing up and a ton of Kamala clones. Even Bruno has a girlfriend!?!?! As usual, illustrations are wonderful and loving the series all together.

Continuing on with the series, this volume is about Kamala making tough decisions with the world about to end. She finally meets Captain Marvel and the bad guy is starting to attack her family. Lots and lots of stuff happening but it's not overwhelming. As usual, illustrations are great as well as the story line. The additional story is from Amazing Spiderman team up with Ms. Marvel. I loved this because it showed the introduction of Silk!

So far I'm enjoying the story. This time Kamala faces Loki at the school dance. She meets a friend of the family who seems a little too perfect? and the last story is her working with SHIELD with someone nefarious going down at her school. Graphics are great and love all the storylines. Looking forward to continuing to read the series.

Ms. Marvel Vol. 1: No Normal | G. Willow Wilson

“Growing up sucks.” I think that around 4th grade kids actually start thinking about that and having those negative ideas. I think that seeing that in a feminine role and being relatable is super important for kids to not feel so alone and lost.

Ms. Marvel, Willow Wilson, 2016. The lead character lives a double life as a super hero and normal everyday person who works, goes to class ect. She deals with the struggles of balancing her lives, maintaining relationships, bullies, bad guys, all the things that you would expect!
