A recovering, low-level low life is at the wrong place at the wrong time, and is pulled into a web of trouble. An extra layer of story and art on display as the main character is also writes a comic strip, and his creation enters the world through his mind.

Absolutely beautiful illustrations and wonderful story.

Enjoy!

Interesting mix of Carmilla + Chinese folklore that left me wishing for a bit more detail on how the two connect. It seems weird to call it Carmilla when she apparently dies in the first book, so I wonder how final that was, but... I'm not sure I'll keep reading.

Happy National Cat Day (it should be everyday)!

This wild sci fi adventure has a bit of everything, and then some: unique worlds, strange creatures, violence, romance, betrayal, found family, bounty hunters, a smart aleck talking cat, a ghost babysitter, and a war that has been going on so long and spread so far, people forget what it is even about.
I was completely drawn into this one from the first page, and I'm definitely looking forward to getting my hands on more of the series!

I'm not entirely sure what I just read or what I think of it yet, but the artist was clearly having an absolute blast and loving drawing two trans male MCs having sex and hijinks.

This was a great start to the series!
Going into this, I knew nothing about the comic or the danmei novel it was based on. I went into it blind.
First off, the art is absolutely stunning! Since I had an ARC, the majority of the book was in black and white. However, there were some pages in the beginning that were in full color.

I will be going through my comic book collection over the next year or so to do some rereads and see what I can part with. I do a majority of my comic reading on Hoopla these days, because we don't have access to a comic book shop. The owner of the store I want to in Colorado told me, when I lamented picking up the newest issue of a series I hadn't even started reading yet, “That's why we are called comic COLLECTORS.“
