Of course the word #Clue immediately makes me think of the game. I haven‘t played in years but look at this awesome Villains version.

I loved the premise and I think going heavy on the camp was the right call with this, but I didn‘t enjoy the ways in which the 4th wall were constantly broken and I thought the plot details and the humor were a bit flat. #Scarathlon2022 #TeamMonsterMash @StayCurious #Spookoween2022 @TheSpineView #31by31 @Catsandbooks #PointsAThon @dieareader @GHABI4ROSES #bodycountbingo @PuddleJumper
This was just okay. The character backstories were hard to follow and it took me a bit to figure out who killed whom. But there was some good banter and I loved the breaking of the fourth wall. The butler was my favorite. Of course there were a few nods to the movie which were great
Ahhh Clue is one of my all time favourite films and this graphic novel was awesome! Definitely gonna need another read to really let it sink in but I loved it.
#LittensDressedInBlood I‘m selecting this photo for today‘s prompt (Mrs. Peacock in the library) because, even those these aren‘t my shelves nor a library, it is my favorite photo of my daughter surrounded by books! This was taken a few years ago at the Book Barn in Niantic, Connecticut. We LOVE to read!!
Today‘s #LittensDressedinBlood prompt:
Mrs Peacock in the Library with the Candlestick!
Here are two of my bookshelves, I have more…
Good morning my #LittensDressedInBlood! Today's prompt is Mrs. Peacock in the Library with a Candlestick, which asks you to show off your local library, your shelves, or fav reading candle. I decided to do all 3. I just re-arranged the shelves in my living room- before they were double or triple shelved and a catch all for misc items. I bought a million of these Glade candles and still have several left. And my Libbie Mill Library (internet pic).
A classic whodunnit!
Also, story time. Apparently when this movie was released in 1985, different theaters got one of the three endings. My parents saw this movie with Miss Scarlet‘s ending for a date night. ❤️

I‘m not sure what to make of this. It‘s like they took the cast/premise of Clue and tried to make it more dramatic and give it a more serious story. Part of the fun of Clue is it‘s ridiculous campy-ness and aside from the art there wasn‘t much I liked about this. The relationships between characters was confusing, the plot seemed really far fetched and the ending just 😞 I get what they were going for, they just didn‘t quite make it.
Decided I needed more Tim Curry in my life so I watched Clue this morning while I was resting up from some stomach issues I've had the past two days #halloweenmoviebingo @GypsyKat
Eh. I was excited to hear about this comic (the movie is one of my favorites), but I was underwhelmed. I appreciated the diversity of the characters and the new ones added in too, but the mystery and following everyone and the butler/narrator constantly breaking the 4th wall to talk to the creators? Just didn‘t do it for me. I feel liked it either needed more time for pacing/plot, or less story threads. #deweysoct book 4
This movie😂 I've seen it countless times and I never tire of it.

Spooky Movie Sunday 3 continues yet again: Spookyo Drift
Making dinner, but also watching a movie while I peel many vegetables. 😁
#TeamSlaughter #Scarathlon @Clwojick 3 points for movie + 1 for post (196 total)
And that‘s another space off my #HalloweenMovieBingo card & off my #Scareathlon playlist. I‘ve found The Corpse Bride, Halloweentown & Coraline & I have Young Frankenstein & Halloween on paytv. The last few(Blair Witch, Charlie Brown & Casper)I have yet to track down. I‘ll get there. #TeamSlaughter 4points #PointsTotal-894
Finished this GN adaptation of one of my favorite board games. I especially liked Upton and the ending was great! ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2

I read this June 16 and gave it 2 ⭐️ on Good Reads. I was on the fence about buying this one and I kind of wished I hadn‘t. It just tried too hard. There were playful nods to the film version from the 80s, which was fine. But it‘s hard to decide what this graphic novel wants to be. There is just too much going on and little satisfaction.
#Clues, epi 4.14, well-crafted plot about missing time & incomplete information. The moral of the story is SO questionable from an anthropological POV (human 'nature' doesn't lead to a love of mystery; it's all culture & not universal), but still super fun. Another great Spiner perfomance. Why does it look like they're dancing to Thriller in the pic?
Clue is a bad roll'n'move boardgame, a great movie and good graphic novel.

This is my favorite art page in this book. So reminiscent of the game in the best way!
This graphic novel has been on my TBR ever since I discovered its existence from a Litsy post--I wish I remembered whose. I haven't done many graphic novels, and this was my first for adults, but I loved it! So much fun seeing the characters from my favorite game come to life, but also get a makeover and have high-powered and diverse characters. Different plot than the movie, and there was a cheesy narrator who breaks the 4th wall, but it works.
A few friends and I solved a murder mystery through a CluedUpp event (basically like a live game of Clue where we ran around downtown NYC interrogating witnesses and gathering clues), and two of us chose to dress as #kidlit characters. Any guesses on who we are?
This was a fun read based on the game and movie of the same name. Read it if you‘re a fan of either. I enjoyed the interpretation of the different characters, especially Mr Green as a ‘pharma bro‘. I also enjoyed how the Butler kept breaking the fourth wall, although I can see how some might find that aspect annoying. 4.5 ⭐️
I wanted to love this Graphic novel, but it was a bit of a miss for me. It‘s kind of got the feel of the Tim Curry movie, but just doesn‘t quite get there.
The Clue graphic novel was a lot of fun. It‘s my favorite board game and the movie with Tim Curry was great. If you have no idea what Clue is, a group of strangers are invited to a dinner party where their host is killed, investigation and further murders occur. My only complaint would be the excessive breaking of the 4th wall. I often find that off-putting because it feels like cheating on exposition. It was still great fun for me.
Not reading.
I loved playing the board game as a kid. I loved the campy movie. This was a really fun update. I thought the art was atmospheric. I loved how the butler talked to the reader and argued with the editor. I enjoyed the interwoven social commentary. I was less enamored with the overall story arc. Still, definitely recommended.
This was so much fun to read. So. Much. Fun. If you like nostalgic pop culture infused mysteries with tongue firmly in cheek, this is the comic for you.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
If you are at all a fan of the film Clue, I'd highly recommend this graphic novel. (It doesn't actually follow the movie, but there are lots of little jokes that won't be as funny if you haven't seen it). It's hilarious and great fun from start to finish.
What my Saturday morning looks like. What are your plans?
Mrs. White in the billiard room with the revolver!
This was fun. There were some great nods to the 1985 film as well as some entertaining modern-day references. I loved how the butler, Upton, was both narrator and character, frequently breaking the fourth wall, and engaging in conversation with the comic editor. I liked the art and the panels were easy to follow sequentially. As a relative comic/graphic novel novice, I always appreciate ones that are intuitive and easy to read
So far, this graphic novel is hysterical. After four long hours at the auto service center (an hour of which could have been avoided if the service manager had LISTENED to me instead of being a chauvinist ass and acting like because I was a woman I couldn‘t know anything about cars) I need a little light entertainment and will be watching this awesome movie. I always wanted Miss Scarlett‘s dress...#eveningplans #currentlyreading
I love when #bookmail comes a day earlier than expected, especially when it arrives on a day you just want to curl up in a ball and cry. @TricksyTails gave me the Saga on Kindle, but B&N has them buy 2 get 1 free and since I am a format completionist, I grabbed print copies. 😉 I can‘t remember who posted about the tagged book, but I have to try it. 🤞🏻 Clue is one of my favorite movies.
