Foreman is known for her heavy YA stories and this is no exception. I really liked the title and how it tied into the 3 YA characters
The good - she has created 3 very distinct and diverse characters with 3 unique dramas and in the end they fold nicely together
The bad - this is a bit slow to get going with a bit too much focus on each character's backstory right out the gate - lots of flashbacks inside of flashbacks.

Oh, wow, I loved this!!!
Forman brings these 3 young strangers together one day in NYC, right when they all need each other most. She captures the braveness it takes to move out of childhood, while giving each of these characters a couple hands to hold on to as they do.
We should all be Freya, Nathaniel, & Harun, and be blessed with friends like them.
The audiobook is superb. And it features an original song at the end I‘ll be humming for days.

This was not at all what I expected. Freya, Nathaniel and Harun could not say anticipate how their paths would cross. The tiny dots that had connected them before. How fate would slam them together...three lost souls who deep down where looking for each other.

So-so. YA. Kind of disappointing because I like her other books so much better.

I remember why I like Gayle Forman books; they all have a quiet, ethereal feeling. You get to know the characters deeply, down inside their souls. This is no different. She picks such a genuinely interesting way for them to meet, a jumping off, so to speak of this incredible day.

I already finished reading this book last month and it was a great book, I love the writing style of Forman, and the feeling while reading it is unusual, I also like the story, how they collide from each other's lives, and help one another.💕

Note Simon's slightly confused look. We didn't "get" this book. It was okay, but just hard to imagine being plausible. Hard to relate to. Yeah, just not believable though it's contemporary/realistic fiction.

Switches between present day and past events so you see how Freya, Harun, and Nathaniel lost their way.
Chance puts them in each other‘s path and gives them the strength they need to find their way again.

My first pick for #booked2019 is done! I enjoyed this book about 3 very different teens who meet when an accident happens and end up spending the day together. They form a bond and help each other with their issues. The book is set in NYC so it #remindsmeofmyhappyplace!
Also I‘m using it for #llb19 for #diversereads.

I have lost my way.

So far Freya is still managing to maintain appearances, though her feelings of being off track are manifesting in other ways. It‘ll be interesting to see how things get resolved.

It has been 2 weeks since I've read the book right after reading words in deep blue , and I liked the book but Freya pissed me off , I don't know if that is because her characteristics where superficial or not . I really like the side characters (Hector, family of Harun !) and I would like to have seen more of them. The character development annoyed me due to the unrealistic timespan.

Three teens get thrown together by happenstance and spend a day together. They bond and are able to help each other confront issues in their life.

I worked early today so I am off band plan to spend the rest of the day with these books.

I really enjoyed this one. And the end of the audiobook has a fuller version of one of the songs important to the story. I liked it a lot. It was like credits to play me out of the story I had just experienced.

Unfortunately, I did not love this as I have her other books but still an enjoyable, quick read!

I'm so glad my 18yr old loves to read, but I'm tired of cleaning around her books on the kitchen island. Time for these to go back to her room.

Just not ky favorite

Sorry for the terrible photo crop! This was a quicker read than I expected. Story of how 3 struggling teens happen to fall into each other‘s stories for one day and how they impact each other. Really engaging - I cared about how all three would end up by the end of the story.

I had a hard time getting into this book at first, wondering how the strange event that brought these characters together could turn in to an actual story. Instead, I should have had faith in Forman‘s execution. Told in alternating viewpoints of present day and flashback, this story loses itself at times, but overall, I Have Lost My Way is a redemption story that‘s worth your time.

I enjoyed this book but felt like the ending was missing. It was too abrupt.
That being said, this book follows 3 individuals who have big issues in their lives. They meet by chance in Central Park and discover their “way” after a day together. They find that the other two provide a friendship and/or love that they‘ve never really had. I would recommend it.

I really enjoyed this book. It was the perfect book to get me out of my book slump. The story was beautiful and I loved reading about the relationship of these three characters.

Three characters who are pondering the life choices that have led them to the crux they currently find themselves in converge in Central Park. Circumstances lead them to spend a few hours together and they connect. This is the story of those hours.

Great characters and lots of diversity. I had a hard time staying captivated and didn‘t feel like the story was quite finished....needed further closure!

I've never really read Gayle Forman and wasn't expecting much, but I actually liked the tone of introspective prose she used. It returns a lot (almost too much?) to LOTR refernces, and the boiling frog fable, but otherwise well worth reading.
