My mother always used to say, when times were tough, “this too shall pass”. When I was young it made me mad. Patience is hard. I learned she was right.

I just don't always have time to do both Blogilates and yoga after work so INSTEAD of trying to both, I'm going to try to do at least 1 or the other every day😎 For blogilates I'll do as many vids as I have time for that day (minimum 20 min)🙌
Does anyone else about lose their minds when they‘re way too busy to find reading time? I‘m so looking forward to settling in with a book after a trip to my favorite bookstore Sunday! Picture of our baby bump since that‘s about a third of my current time consumption (work being the other two thirds)
Happy Monday! Hope you all have a great day!
A fitting reminder for today. #thistooshallpass #LitsyAtoZ @BookishMarginalia
Usual reading blanket and usual reading buddy. I do feel like I should be reading on the beach with this book though.
A lovely read, translated from Spanish, about grief (after the death of her mother) and the family we make.
Loving this short book about a Spanish woman who invites her friends, kids and two ex's ( along with another married lover) to her recently deceased mom's home for a restful vacation weekend. What could go wrong?
I've been hopscotching through books the past couple of days. I've started each of these in the past week. It's a race to see which one I finish first.
I have been looking for books written in Spanish that were not too long (172 pages), and pretty readable for non-native speakers/readers, and this fit the bill.
¡Vale la pena leerlo!
You have to reach a certain age before it's possible to feel affection for the city you were born in, or where you spent your childhood, before you stop allowing familiarity to keep your eyes closed, or stop wanting to run away to find a new adventure every morning.
Book shopping IS better than Christmas!
After the last few days of news, a particularly apt title. Blanca is a 40-something year old woman who has recently lost her mother and struggling. While there are some beautiful sentences, a gorgeous setting, and a good section towards the end on modern motherhood, I think it will be forgettable.
One eye on the swimming child, one eye on the new book I'm starting. After a mid-size book, I diverted from my reading plan with something a bit shorter before tackling the enormous Barkskins.
A summery, substantial read that tackles heavy topics with grace and understanding.
An eclectic reader 🤔
Every word of this gorgeous novel is colored by grief. Milena Busquets's beautiful prose twists & turns to avoid & face grief head on. It paints a vibrant picture of the way life stops & yet still marches on after a major loss. - Ivy
Some phases in life, like losing a parent, you hope will pass. Others, like buying donuts for your children, you hope to experience forever.
