I love that this book explores all of the main character‘s identities. Bobby is not only Filipino American, but also gay and lower income. He‘s also a huge comic book nerd. All of his identities intersect in a real and authentic way.

Since this is an anthology, there is something for everyone. There is a lot of diversity from the types of women to their accomplishments. The art styles also vary! I enjoyed seeing all the different types of art. All the contributors are either female or nonbinary which adds to the inspiring narrative of the collection.

I loved the premise of the book, but it ultimately fell a little short of my expectations.

My main issue with the book is the pacing. It is very slow. Getting through the first half of the book was a struggle. Once I was about halfway through, the pace (luckily) picked up.

I don‘t want to give away too much about the plot, but I will say it is sort of circular and kind of trippy (if that makes any sense). It‘s a book that you have to read for yourself. By the time I got to the end, my mind was blown.

This was a short and sweet romance set in France!

First off, for such a short book, there was a lot of chemistry between the two main characters. Since this was a second chance romance, the characters already knew each other and had history. I enjoyed learning their backstory and seeing them get back together.

Overall, this was a great start to Beast Boy‘s story and I look forward to reading more of his adventures (especially with Raven)!

I am such a huge fan of this series so I was excited to read this, especially since Beauty and the Beast is my favorite fairy tale. I ended up enjoying this a lot!
