I'm glad I finally read this. I watched the Disney movie as a child and the live action movie from the 90s. It was interesting to see how the book differed from the movies. I may have to rewatch both of them :)

Confession: I've never read The Jungle Book before. I've seen the movie maybe once?
I'm finally picking it up because I assigned Rikki Tikki Tavi to my high schoolers, and they loved it. So, I figured it's about time to read the whole thing! 🦁
Walt Disney‘s the Jungle Book (TL) is a classic picture book retold from Rudyard Kipling‘s “The Jungle Book”. One day, a panther finds a boy in the woods and takes him to a mother-wolf to be taken care of. The story tells the adventure of the boy growing up in the jungle! This would make a great S. Since there is a live action movie coming out about it soon, UDL7.1 can be used to relate the book to the movie!
Fellow Littens, meet Vinny the Vulture. He came to visit our complex this morning. I'm not sure how long he plans on staying, but I named him anyway.
Love love love the new Jungle Book collab at Cath Kidston. Treated myself to a pen (I collect from all Disney ranges) and a clutch 🐯🐒🐻🐍
I liked some stories more than others. The first few were my favorite and then I got bored. Half read, half listened to on audio b/c it seemed every time I picked it up, I fell asleep.

#NappaneePublicLibrary #ExpandYourHorizons 2019 challenge included reading a chapter book from either the teen or children's section. Kipling's Jungle Book has been on my TBR pile for years and I'm not sure why I haven't read it until now, especially since I have this odd interest in feral children. I didn't anticipate the jungle language being so Shakespearean with black panthers, bears and rock snakes speaking with thou, thee, thy, thine & ye.
Well, Jungle Cruise Book, technically. When I am in the Disneyland parks, I like taking photos of books.
Aren't these gorgeous? 😍 These came in the mail today from Book Outlet!
I was a bit shocked this was such a dark story full of revenge which makes me question how appropriate it is for children but it was well read & featured a celebrity cast. #audiobook #moviewasbetter
Not easy choosing a favourite character, but I do love Baloo! He's clever, laid back and he knows how to have fun.
Thanks for the giveaway and congrats!! 🎉😊 @theresidentromantic

This audiobook was a fun way to revisit an old classic. It was done more like radio theater, but kept enough of the narration that it still felt like reading Kipling. ❤️
I‘m listening to this during my commute and many characters have to #fightitout, from Mowgli to Rikki Tikki Tavi, whose fight with Nag was this morning‘s story. #scenesfromabook @JoeStalksBeck

Bali should have signs with #WelcomeToTheJungle everywhere! I am loving the nature on this wonderful island 🌴🌞
This is from a tempel we visited today. It lays on an island and you can only get to it during low tide, but it is worth the trip!

So I actually don't think that I have read this book! Seen the movie..yep! Know the story off by heart..yep! Read the book..hmm 🤔 I feel like I possibly read a kids version when I was younger but I don't think I ended up reading the actual book. I might have to change that! Are there any books that you know the story of that you haven't read?

This is a fantastic graphic novel adaptation of the Jungle Book stories. If you enjoy Kipling's original stories, it is well worth your time to read. I enjoyed the same stories that I enjoyed when I read the originals, and to be honest, I skimmed a couple of the ones I did not care for as much the last time I read them.
