Bailing at page 58. Too claustrophobic and creepy.
A trip to the library ended in this and now I don‘t know which one to read first? Marwood, Moor, Kitamura or Krakauer? 🥴
I had a bit of trouble figuring out what was going on at the start. Part of it was that it didn‘t grab me and hold my attention right away, and I think part of it was also the number of characters. But, after a bit, I figured out the characters, though I still think I missed a bit of the happenings at the start. Cont in comments...
I initially thought this would be a page turning thriller with such a title and synopsis. However, it actually was more of a contemporary fiction. It wasn't one of my favorite reads but I could appreciate the concept of friendship and loyalty.
Overall score: 3.0/5.0
(Hey, where‘s all the stickers?😟)
Ooh! What a nasty little book 🤗. Creepy landlord + tenants on the margins of society + killer/mummifier on the premises = a twisted British tale😱 I listened to this one, and really enjoyed it. It may have been a tad too long. But you really do get to know all the characters that way.
I was grateful for the satisfying ending to this. You go through a lot with these characters & want them to “win”.
It‘s been a while since I read a thriller that didn‘t annoy me somehow (usually with completely unlikable, unreliable narrators), but this was very good! It is graphic at times, and downright gross at others, but the story moves along quickly and I really liked several of the main characters. Solid writing, and a bit of a twist ending that didn‘t make me mad. 🙌🏻
Great choice for #HGPBC #TeamDracula, Elizabeth!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Is it wrong to select a book by its narrator?? If it is, I don't want to be right 😉 Imogen Church is one of my favorites 💗
I had just started this book & was liking it when life sent a curve ball & I found myself unable to read for a few weeks. Picked it back up & wasn't able to put it down. Was shocked to see others listing all the horrible things that happen in the book. It is filled with misery, but I found it balanced by dark humor. Then again, that's the mindset I was in while reading it, so who knows. A pick for me, can't believe the author isn't better known.
#Ash loves bedtime. #Caturday #CatsOfLitsy
This was so insanely slow. I didn‘t like the characters or the plot as it progressed. It was just dull and hard to stick with to the end.
This is on Book Bub for $1.99. This is a good book! The killer is twisted so considered yourselves warned.
1. The teens library card. How long before he‘s frantically looking for it? 😂
2. 7.5 The cold meds knocked me out.
3. All the chocolate! (White chocolate is not chocolate.)
4. Every six months or so. I‘m an introvert who HATES hair salons.
5. Highly recommend.

This was so good! Excellent Halloween read. If you don‘t trust me, just ask Stephen King.
Too cozy in bed last night when I finished this one, but this #TeamDracula pick exceeded my expectations!! A bit gory, great characters and a tense plot kept me turning pages past my bedtime on a Sunday night!! Can‘t wait to see what you all think!! #Skulls feature here- and here‘s another view of our #fireplace! #BlackCatChallenge #LitsyClassics @Clwojick @Sarah83
It‘s almost bedtime. Why not start a new book? Who needs sleep?
This book was good, some of the chapters dragged for me a bit and there was a lot of information to take it. I had The Killer figured out early on, but it was still enjoyable to read. I don't want to give too much away for the rest of my book club members!
I hope the rest of #TeamDracula likes it!

A dark story filled with danger and suspense. Engaging, well developed characters. One thing I should point out - it‘s a bit gruesome (avoid if you are squeamish about disposing of bodies especially). 🌟🌟🌟 (3/5 stars)
People who don‘t live with cats don‘t know this: that if you know them well, their emotions are written large across their faces, if you only care to look.
I got cranky every time I had to step away from this; had to keep reading as the feeling of impeding dread kept snowballing because I knew awful things were going to happen. An old dilapidated house in south London is home to six tenants, all who are hiding secrets. There‘s a creepy nasty landlord. Very unexpected developments and kickass ending. Plus a cat named Psycho!
About to start the tagged book for #letterk for #litsyAtoZ challenge.... Anyone read any good ‘“Q”or “X” books they can recommend?

This author knows how to write a character, I just felt maybe i was expecting something else. It is about how even when you find yourself on your own and alone, you can build a new family out of strangers who you let in. Like i said, the author can write a character. The book shoulda been called The Killer Next Door to England's most charming eclectic group of societal discards. I was expecting horror and suspense and i got maybe 10 pages of it.
On to the next! So... If Stephen King calls it "scary as hell" it damn well better live up to that label! If so I'll definitely be adding ' the wicked girls' to the tbr list.
‘It takes a certain type of person to want to be a copper in the first place. You don‘t want to be a copper if you don‘t want to tell other people what to do, do you? Only they‘ve got power. Actual power, not made-up power, and everybody wants to think they‘re on the side of the angels, so it‘s really hard to persuade them that they‘re not. I‘d be very careful of the police. The law‘s not set up for people like us.‘
Ebook deal today, this one looks great and has excellent reviews on Goodreads. Plus, The King seems to be recommending it.
This book wasn't quite what I expected, but that wasn't a bad thing at all. I enjoyed the story and liked many of the characters. I will definitely be checking out her other books. Also, listen to this on audio, the narrator does a fabulous job. 4⭐️
This is my cat trying to get my attention as I take a Litsy break from cleaning. #HelloOctober #audiobook #catsoflitsy
This is one creepy book! Very enjoyable! I listened to the audiobook and Imogen Church does a fantastic job with the voices.
