Hebban.nl

This is book 5 of the Helen Grace series. Helen‘s current case is hitting close to home as a killer appears to be targeting members of the BDSM community. As usual, this was a gripping novel that I couldn‘t stop listening to. It also makes me want to pick up the next one soon. #Bookspinbingo #NovelNovember

TBH, I am a little tired of the nasty reporter character. I think I audibly said ‘Ugh‘ when she showed up. 🤷🏼‍♀️

TrishB Love this series 👍🏻 4y
MicheleinPhilly That is a trope that is present in a few of the series I‘m reading. Truthfully I get them confused sometimes. 4y

Mystery Thriller and Suspense

Date started: November 19th, 2019
Date finished: November 21st, 2019

Pages: 374

The title caught my eye. Personally, I think the cover does the story no justice because the plotline was surprisingly better than I expected. I really liked the continuous buildups towards the suspects and the frustrating revelations that meant the case wasn't over. The twists were very well executed and I couldn't put the book down.

Chynnaaa Little Boy Blue is the fifth book in a detective series that features DI (Detective Inspector) Helen Grace. I haven't read any of the other books in the series but I would definitely recommend this to others who enjoy Criminal Minds. Helen Grace faces off against a serial killer, who knows the secrets and private places of her nightlife. All of the victims share a common tie with Helen Grace, and her career is at risk if her colleagues find out. 5y
Chynnaaa Helen Grace is being watched by the unseen eyes of the city. Readers are led to make their own judgements and even begin to doubt Helen Grace at times. Slowly, the police force begins to turn against her, and the only ones who still trust Helen are picked off one by one. Eventually, there's no one left who can testify for Helen and the evidence points to her. The whole case was planned against Helen, as a means for revenge. 5y
Chynnaaa There's definitely a sequel to the story. Little Boy Blue ends with a fast-paced and cruel twist, with Helen Grace being convicted for crimes she didn't do. The real killer is from her past, which I won't reveal. I would advise readers to start from the beginning of the series, so that they don't have to piece together the missing parts like I did. Overall, Little Boy Blue is a must-read crime thriller. It reminds me of Murder by Numbers. 5y

DI Helen Grace returns in the fifth book in the series & she is after a killer who is targeting victims from the BDSM scene. This is uncomfortably close to home for Grace & meanwhile her boss reveals himself to be a creepy stalker type.

The series continues its ups & downs - this is one of the more engrossing books in the series, with a fast paced plot. 4🌟

4.5/5 stars
When the book started I expected to be slightly disappointed. It was slightly weird and highly personal for Helen and had her all across the map. But as the book went on it got better and I totally did not see the ending coming at all. That's what earned it the rating it got.

Another great book in the Helen Grace series. These books are extremely easy to read. I found little boy blue to be my least favourite in the series so far as it was a bit predictable, however it was still very good and I can't wait for the next one yo find out what happens to Helen

Another gripping yarn in the Helen Grace series. Read this after Liar Liar and wasn't disappointed. Whenever I read a M J Arlidge book, I immediately want to pick up the next book by him! Not many authors achieve this. I'm saving Hide and Seek for now. Time for something a bit lighthearted!

Quite possibly the best in the Detective Helen Grace series. A couple of cautions: the squad is investigating murder(s) in the BDSM community and book 5 is not wrapped up as neatly as the previous four books. Translation: cliffhangers!

Finally, a book with diversity! The main victim in this murder mystery was bi, and there are also other bisexuals, transgender and gay characters within. It's also heavily focused on BDSM and the people who enjoy it and why they find it appealing. It seems to aim to quell a lot of misunderstandings. I'm about a third of the way through, but it's been a very interesting read so far.

Everything about this book is dark, deadly, alarming and depraved. All of these things make for an enthralling read and one that I flew through rather quickly. The police are frustrated by dead end after dead end even after several very promising leads. The mounting exasperation adds to the tension and the book ends in a shocking cliffhanger that I never saw coming. I‘m positively desperate to read the next book to see how it will all play out.

BeckyK I know this is the 5th book in the series, but are they sequels or stand alone novels? Sounds great! :) 8y
