Here are my #LMPBC #GroupM choices! Tried to give us true crime, horror, and thriller options. Say Nothing might be a little too long, but I included it for kicks. Let me know what speaks to you. 😀

In a brutal cop town where cops beat & abuse anyone of ethnicity or female on or off the force, 2 women not only learn to hold their own, but to overcome the abusers. A good read, that moves.
It was so GOOD. The characters, the setting, the action all completely on target. Set in 1974, the plot touches on issues that are still far too relevant today; police corruption, sexism, homophobia, racism. It was an incredibly compelling read with plenty of twists. It‘s Slaughter so there‘s a heavy amount of graphic descriptions, gore and violence.
Only past the Prologue but man does Karin have you in some stuff immediately. Lake life on this sweltering day!
#minihaul from Annie‘s Book Stop 🛑 (Middlegame is new, the other 2 are used.) I bought another Karin Slaughter book 📚 because of course. The Lovely Bones seemed to be making the rounds here and was on some 100 must read books on Facebook. Now I‘m building a proper TBR pile. #bookhaul #shopsmall
Great thriller, as usual, by Karin. Super current subjects in a very well developed plot.

Last book started in 2019 and the first book finished in 2020. It was absolutely excellent!! The only problem now is that I'm completely caught up on Slaughter's backlist, which means I'm now officially at the mercy of how fast she can write new ones 😩
📠Tortola, British Virgin Islands (my fav beach of the trip!)
Karin Slaughter:)!!
Amazing crime fiction. I couldn‘t put it down. The topics brought up are really moving. Really makes you think about life in the 70s as a minority.
I just finished reading Cop Town and the whole police vibe has got into me, prompting me to start watching Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
The Commanding Officer in the show talks about the PD in the 1970s and how racist, sexist, and violent it was- exactly the things I read in Slaughter‘s book. The CO from the show would have faced death in the book (by fellow officers) because he was openly gay.
I really liked the book and I‘m loving the show. Pick!
My #currentreads feel #hotandheavy , and I‘m close to bailing on The Milkman. I like the narration, theme... but it feels like a chore. 🤯😓
Coincidentally, both these books are set in the 1970s.
The Milkman-supposedly Northern Ireland
Cop Town- Atlanta

1. Travel and running. I wish I could run the Boston Marathon.
2. My first job was teaching modeling/runway modeling
3. I try hard to not bail. I‘m a positive thinker

4. Anything by Karin Slaughter

Although I finished the book this one was a pan for me. I was not invested in the characters and I found the language very stilted at times. Overall a "meh."
Yes! I think i‘ll spend the night reading this! I need Litsy therapy. Was at the vegan fair. It was terrible because it was packed with people. Then half of South Korea was at the library. I really dislike most people 🤷ðŸ¼â€â™€ï¸ I‘m sure I‘ll end up as a hermit somewhere.

My least favourite Slaughter book, just didn‘t do it for me.
It wasn‘t my favorite I have read by Karin Slaughter but I did enjoy reading it for the most part. I think it‘s the time frame it‘s set that I didn‘t care to much for
I love Karin Slaughter! She‘s an amazing author. Now I‘m going back to read the lesser known of her books
#birthdaybookhaul pt 9? I guess I wanted to read books by Karen‘s? Seriously they‘re good writers so I needed to snatch these up!
Wow! Though I thoroughly detested all the characters and the blatant racism/sexism/bigotry which was too commonplace in ‘74 (& especially so in the South) I think she delved into a couple characters— Kate Murphy in particular— enough to warrant the crass behavior as a way to emphasize the story and the mystery behind The Atlanta Shooter. As always her mastery of gritty writing was as clear as her ability to flesh out real/strong people. 👌ðŸ»
My #hometownswap from @Kappadeemom all about Georgia! I love it!!! I almost sent you A Walk In The Woods because of the AT headquarters here in WV! Thank you so much!
Thank you @MicrobeMom and @readinginthedark for organizing this fun swap!
If you love Karin Slaughter, she is having a FB live event tomorrow!! â¤ï¸â¤ï¸
This ended up reminding me of comic series The Kitchen with tough women navigating a gritty, male dominated world of crime and punishment. The 70s -era racism, sexism, and homophobia is hard to read at times but the story is a compelling read all the same. #mommyreads #atl #crime #ebook
I really like Karin Slaughter. Can't wait to read another.ðŸ˜ðŸš”📚📖
It's always a good sign when your new book starts with a map of Atlanta ⤠I'm also reading on a train drinking a hot chocolate while my husband holds a sleeping toddler 👸 #mommyreads #crime #ebook
I‘m on a Karin Slaughter binge...🤷ðŸ»â€â™€ï¸
I've decided to change gears and continue the book I've been working on before the readathon. It's so good, I just have to know what happens next NOW!👮â€ðŸš”

#ORANGEYOUGLAD that the book you're currently reading qualifies for one of Liberty's giveaways? I am!
Probably a mistake to start this at 12:30am, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
So,this was pretty much my holiday weekend! It was a good one, hope you all enjoyed your Easter/weekend and spending time with your loved ones. And I hope you managed to get some reading done😄 xoxo #cakeandbooks
Finally getting some reading done. Hope my slump is over!😄 And in my favorite company🶠#karinslaughter #coptown
Oh my god,you guys, I have been in such a reading slump this month,I barely managed to finish one book. I don't know what is happening, and I have so many great books waiting for me. Is anyone else having these problems? I hope that April will be better. #readingslump #letsgetitoverwith
Classic Karin Slaughter! She knows how to tell a story. Cop Town is set in the 70's when women were expected to 'stay in their place' and were not taken serious when they signed on to be a police officer in the good ole boy Atlanta PD. Maggie Lawson & Kate Murphy along with the rest of the women of the Atlanta PD are determine to make a change in this corrupt Cop Town, check it out, you won't be disappointed!
I can't find Thorn In My Side on here to tag but this story is flipping amazing! Very witty, twisted, funny, disturbing and perfect narration!! I love it!!
Take homes for today :) the books not the cats 😀ðŸ‘ðŸ»ðŸ“–📚
My contribution to Friday, Cop Town by Karin Slaughter. She gave a talk at a local library whilst in Australia, she's very funny and so tiny! Cop Town is a stand-alone about female cops in the 70s. The misogyny made me want to scream, very accurate to the time period. Great read, highly reccommended
