1. So many great places to picnic! The first that came to mind was the 100 Acre Wood. But also Willie Wonka‘s Chocolate factory, Pemberley, and Paradise Falls.

2. Anyone who wants to go! But at the 100 Acre Wood, I would hope to at least run into Pooh Bear.

3. Fruit, baguette, cheese, nuts, wine, portable speaker, blanket, pillows

An absolutely beautiful read. Hits on growing up in a sad but sweet way. I may have almost teared up at the end, it was great. I loved the sly comments Eeyore made in this book (my favorite!) and the loveable moments of Pooh. Made me reflect on my own childhood and the innocence of that time. Great comfort read for any age.

5/5🌟

Listening to this one on audio because they do voices of the characters! (Though Tigger‘s voice in the 2nd book is starting to get on my nerves so maybe will go back to reading). Such a cute read so far though 🍯 Wrote a thesis on the first one so I want to finish off the series. ✨

hannah-leeloo You're very welcome sweet. Happy reading and weekend 😊 3y
dimedgirl @tpixie thank you for the warm welcome! 💛💛 I‘m still trying to figure out how to use Litsy, but I appreciate the advice! I‘ve been trying to learn about a ton of different genres to try out since it‘s been a few years of proper reading 😅 3y
hannah-leeloo YA, fantasy and fairy tales are my favourite genres and when in a slump I read children's books to cheer me up 😊 3y
dimedgirl @hannah-leeloo I used to adore those genres too! I‘m slowly getting back into them. This year has been a lot of contemporaries and romances and a new spring to childrens/YA because of a summer class on the topic. I really want to hit the children‘s classics I missed out on growing up ☺️ 3y
hannah-leeloo That sounds like a great plan. You should. I'm doing the same. Currently I'm rereading the Harry Potter books then onto fairy tales again 🙃 3y
LibrarianRyan Ello. I read a bit of everything but heavy on the MG and YA. Eapically GNs. 3y

dimedgirl @Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick thank you so much!! I‘ve gotten more use out of my ereader since finding the bookish community, so I‘ll definitely try upping my audiobooks as well 😁 the community seems very sweet and fun, so I‘m happy to take part! 3y
Buechersuechtling Welcome to this lovely community, @dimedgirl – and thanks @hannah-leeloo for still recommending me as someone worth following. 🤗 It‘s weird, I just can‘t say where all the time I used to have for reading during my days went to. 🤷🏽‍♀️ Either I‘m still not yet sorted after my father‘s passing or it‘s the new every day life with being/feeling responsible for my elderly mum that restructured what used to be my leisure time. 🤷🏽‍♀️ (edited) 3y

I think this is one of those rare occasions where the sequel is better than the original book. We listened to the audiobook again, and again it would be so much better without Piglet‘s snorting. I just cannot understand why it was included. I do still love this collection of stories though.

The House at Pooh Corner written by A.A. Milne. Chapter 1. p. 1-20. This chapter tells the story of Pooh Bear and his friends. I would classify this book as Animal Fantasy because animals are given human-like qualities and characteristics. The author has made the story more believable by giving the animals names and allowing them to experience human-like relationships like with Christopher Robin.

I liked how Winnie the Pooh and Christopher Robin had their own private farewell party, it shows the importance of friendship. Pooh promises Christopher Robin that he will never forget him even when he is 100 years old.

I love how the author wrote this book for her son, Christopher Robin, and use his stuffed animals as the characters. In the book, Christopher Robin is growing up, and will eventually have to leave his friends in Hundred Acre Woods because he has to go to school. At the end, all of the friends gather for a farewell party to say goodbye.

I think this was a really cute story that made me reminisce on my childhood. I remember sitting with a big stuffed Pooh bear while my grandma would read the stories to me. I can‘t wait to share these stories with class after class of students.

This modern fantasy story was a cute story about Pooh and his friends coming together to help build Eeyore a house. Originally Pooh just wanted to hum his outdoor song to Eeyore but he decided to help build him a house when he saw how cold Eeyore must be! I think this is a cute charming story with little bits of humor that kids of all ages would love.

The House at Pooh Corner by A.A. Milne is a work of modern fantasy. It was written in 1928 and then later republished in 1956. This is a chapter book, but each chapter is a short story involving Winnie the Pooh and all of his friends. I chose to read chapter four in which Roo and Tigger get stuck in a tree. This was super interesting and held my interest the whole way through. I love how witty Pooh is and all his adventures.

Aimeesue @jillrhudy Pretty, right? They're pretty much worthless as far as rare book value goes because of the condition of the bindings, writing, and the fact that someone has pasted newspaper clippings in some of them, which have acidified and stained other pages. But they're pretty cool! (edited) 5y

This narrator is no Jim Dale. The voices were so annoying. I would have stopped listening, but the audiobook was only a little over 3 hours.

I think my expectations are too high for these books because I loved the tv shows and movies etc. and Tigger is my favorite Disney character. And he‘s hardly in the books.

Getting my audiobooks selection ready for #BookFitnessChallenge

Does anyone have any audiobooks they recommend?
Has anyone read any that I‘m planning to choose from?

I‘m trying to get my books from Hoopla! But I can only request 5 or 6 books a month!

I don‘t listen to a lot of audiobooks, so I don‘t really have any preferences!

bewareofwords I‘ve been listening to Good Omens! Jury‘s still out on the book itself, but the narrator does a really good job! 6y
Kaila-ann I can only get 4 from hoopla a month, totally jealous lol. 6y

Laughterhp @baes I‘ve read the first Outlander book and own the second one. I‘ve never thought to try them on audio because they‘re so long!! 6y
Booknerd222 What‘s Hoopla? Also, The Last Mrs. parish was super good when I read it, as well as Outlander! 6y

InBooksILive Kingdom of Copper was soo good!! And I finally read Good Omens a month or two ago, it cracked me up! Great choices you have to listen to! 6y
baes @Laughterhp I love to listen to them (I read along too). At first I didn‘t love her voice but it quickly became the characters for me. She‘s so good with the different accents and making each character their own. I speed up my audio speed too, which doesn‘t make them nearly as long. But I love that it is a series I can take breaks & pick-up at anytime. Doesn‘t feel so long with them that way. 6y

It allowed me to have a little piece of my childhood back. I recommend everyone read this to their children and to themselves.
