This book was alright, light reading and easy to finish
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 Thank you so much! I‘m so excited! I did not anticipate the waiting for the 14th would be so hard lol

In keeping with wanting to read “ Aussie “ I picked this from the library. Famous sister too. I found it quite a tiresome read and almost bailed. Too much dialogue for me . Also a very weak plot. I finished it because it did get me in but was disappointing. @MrsMalaprop
I found this one hard to rate. There were a lot of themes packed into it, and I'm ambivalent about the ending. Though I will try another of her books as I don't mind the chatty sprawling style.
I went down a rabbit hole on Amazon yesterday and found this book- on sale and everything. I have not been able to put it down. Its silly and over the top and juicy and exactly what Women‘s Fic should be! I‘m in love.
A quick, enjoyable read about four friends who are keeping secrets and telling lies.
I picked this up because I needed a simple and fun read (because my youngest doesn‘t sleep at night 😴) and it delivered. If you are a big fan of this author‘s older sister, Liane, you will probably like this but not love it. The sisters have a similar style, but Liane writes characters with such insight and complexity! Best not to compare. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
Off to work...fingers crossed for some reading time at lunch.🤞 📖
I love Liane Moriarty and have read all of her books. So excited to find her sister is an author too!
#allthebooksof2017 day 1 (I just found the prompt today so catching up the first couple days)
This was my first read of 2017. I gave it 3 Stars as it was just okay.
#firstreadoftheyear #firstreadof2017
This story tells of how a group of friends from high school change over time and how they all have secrets that might change each other's point of view.
My TBR list keeps growing - just read BookRiot's post "Best books of 2017 (so far)." And I've added at least 5! Oy yoy yoy! Too many books not enough time :-)
Ages 18-25 I thought good books had to be heavy, existential, classics 🙄 That attitude led me to read a lot of good books; but, damn, is that a pretentious & utterly incorrect way to view reading.
The Fifth Letter is no classic but it's good, fun & suspenseful. Moriarty mapped a web of friendships so complex but also so relatable. To imagine passing this up because it's too light is a tragedy. Im so happy to have broadened my horizons! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Traverse is enjoying the book just as much as I am.
So far, it's seeming like another juicy beach-read that will be forgettable but fun. Guess that's what I'm into rn 🤷🏼♀️
I really enjoyed the book before the letter was revealed, and then thereafter. Throughout the first part the anticipation of what the letter contained had me hooked, but then I felt a wave of disappointment as I discovered what the letter was about. However I continued, and eventually I couldn't put it down as the story continued, with the last revelation making me gasp.
3-1/2 ⭐️s..... Liane's sister Nicola, writes in a similar style to her- lots of secrets, lies and female friendships. This has an interesting concept. 4 old friends on a girls weekend, decide to each anonymously share a secret in a letter. But there is a fifth letter with a shocking revelation... so who wrote it? Page-turning, but the ending ties up a bit too neatly... Fun but a bit forgettable. But would make a good book club discussion I think.
The format was interesting enough, but it wasn't the emotional payoff that her sister Liane's books provide. I honesty didn't understand the implications of the final scene. Good premise, but the execution wasn't what I thought it would be. It was cool that one of the main characters had my name: Eden!
I enjoyed this one. It's a fast read, made more so by the way we move back and forth between past and present, as well as getting small snatches of the ominous fifth letter.
The chilling nature of the letter and the rather rushed ending meant I didn't end up loving it, but I'll definitely read more by this author.
I ADORE Jaclyn and Laine Moriarty's books, so I'm really looking forward to reading this one from another Moriarty sister.
Listening while on my break at work! Interesting story format. Who wrote the fifth letter?
It's so weird for a main character in the book to have my name- Eden. And to hear it so many times in an Australian accent ☺️
Apparently Liane Moriarty has an author sister - I wonder what that's like. Let's see how this one goes!
My #libraryhaul from today. Some of these titles are repeats (didn't get to them before the due date, so had to wait for them again). I better get reading! #Zeke wanted to be in the picture too!
Ok so I always start these challenges so well but then drop off. My aim this month is to finish #marchintoreading. Day 1: #marchTBR including The Fifth Letter by Nicola Moriarty
I'm a little torn between thumbs up and so-so. I'd probably go with like 3.5/5 stars. It was good but not great. It was a quick read but there was so much going on and so many people it was a little hard to follow at times.
I had higher hopes for this book. I couldn't decide if it was a pick so I had to go with the so-so. Four old friends go on a mini vacation together and decide to anonymously write 4 letters with their biggest secrets for each other to read. Obviously things get uncovered, go awry, and some craziness ensues.
Sitting here reading while my dog gets his acupuncture and chiro work post dental cleaning lol
Think I'll start these 2 today #dogsoflitsy #bostonterrier
The Fifth Letter by Nicola Moriarty is a wild ride about a group of friends who take a vacation that ends up being a disaster. With the revelation of a secret letter divulging explosive secrets, everything turns to chaos! I loved the characters and witty writing in this novel!
Thoroughly enjoyable. A group of women go away thinking they know everything about each other. How wrong can you be. It's probably better that somethings remain unsaid. Definitely another book for the reading pile. I will certainly read more of the authors books
What starts as a game of truth or dare becomes so much more when secrets are anonymously shared. Can the lifetime friendships survive the revelations? A 4 star read!!
Finishing up the "written by someone my age" book for the challenge as we speak. This is Nicola Moriarty's US debut - she's Liane and Jaclyn's sister.

This was an excellent book. I liked it because it is about 4 women and their long life friendship and a girls weekend. It was very good.
Book numero uno of 2017 was THE FIFTH LETTER by Nicola Moriarty. The Moriarty sisters have a serious gift and if you like brilliant fiction by Australian women I strongly suggest you pick this up when it's out in March. Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
super excited for my advance copy! love me some Moriarty sisters! thanks @Tav and @WilliamMorrow
I'm a big fan of the "4 women are longtime friends & suddenly all of their secrets and resentments are about to come to light" formula. Moriarty drops enough clues and red herrings to keep you guessing. What's true? How well do we know our friends? A really fun read.
I am ALL IN for this one. It's not out until January 2017, but it looks perfect for a binge read. Especially since it's Monday, it's raining, I'm off work, and my husband has my car because his is in the shop.
