I‘m sensing a theme this week... 🧐 I found this gorgeous piece at an antique shop today - framed 1950s Disney cards to go with my earlier book purchase! 😍
Found this lovely 150th anniversary edition of Alice at The Book Den in Santa Barbara! This was full-price but worth it!😜
So excited to find these for $2 each at the Carpinteria friends of the library bookstore! 🤩📚
“Dogs and cats living together...mass hysteria!” 😀 Finally getting into this one and loving it! Trying to wrap it up this week and maybe see the movie this weekend!
February reads! The Nightingale was by far my favorite! Loved Lilac Girls as well. 📚🤓
This book has left me speechless... so beautiful, yet heartbreaking... speaks solidly to the strength and resilience of women in challenging times. Just wow. A powerful and important read! ❤️😢 5/5⭐️
Sometimes, you buy a new carry-on bag so you can get your book haul home. 😊📚❤️ #bookmansaz
Found this story about three longtime friends uplifting and inspiring! 5/5⭐️ Also read these 6 other books in January! I guess the one benefit of getting laid off is having more time to read 🤷🏻♀️
I fully admit to buying this in hardback because the cover is so much prettier than the paperback edition! 😍
Loved it - a perfect, clever, well-crafted mystery! Her best that I‘ve read since House at Riverton. The big reveal was totally unexpected and gave me chills! You may think you‘ve figured it out about halfway through, but then everything shifts... not as predictable as it may seem! 5/5⭐️
Another winner by Claudia Gray! I loved seeing Leia at 16, starting to learn about the rebellion and the role she might play in it in the future. Happy to have received this as part of my Christmas book haul! 😍🎄👍🏻
In case I didn‘t love Leia enough... 😊📚☕️🥖🍓
Although this book seems to be getting poor reviews due to the fact the the “big reveal” doesn‘t come until halfway through the book, I thought the getting to it was enjoyable! Great characters, tension, and story! Maybe not her best, but definitely in the top 3 for me - couldn‘t put it down! 5/5⭐️
Loved this book the first time I read it 2 years ago! I wanted to do a read-along with the new season of Outlander, but I can‘t put it down (again), so now I‘m way ahead of the show, lol! 😀 Love me some Claire & Jaime! 😍📚
Took the day off work for a "mental health day" and spent the afternoon browsing a local used bookstore! ??
Amazon Prime Day book mail! 😍📚I can't decide which to read first!
I'm struggling to get through this one!! I thought it would be much more interesting, but I'm about halfway in and it seems to be more about the other "acts" of the fair, with less focus on the tower than I expected based on the title and description. I'm not typically one who doesn't finish books I've started, but there are so many others calling my name right now! ?
Today's Amazon delivery! A couple of new books plus things to do when I'm not reading. 😉 Always trying to keep both mind and body active!
At the end of a long day, there's not much that beats climbing into bed with a book and a cup of tea! 😌
Ok, I may be in the minority on this one, but I'm really not sure how I feel about this book! It was an interesting story about an interesting woman, but it read like a biography. This happened, then this happened, and so on. The blurb on the back is misleading, imo, and for a book about a "famed aviator" we get almost no look at that part of her life. I feel like if you're really interested in her story, maybe just read her autobiography?
Really enjoyed this one! 4/5⭐️ Now I feel like I need a good biography of Agatha Christie! Any recommendations?? 🤓
Arrived early to a lunch meeting and just had to kill the time in B&N... oops! 😳📚
I am loving this so much right from the start, when he begins by saying that his first job was in a bookstore, where he discovered (and loved) the Choose Your Own Adventure series. 🎧❤️📚😊
Dark humor to be sure, but I'm enjoying this book so far! 😂
Whew. This was interesting, but kind of long-winded. Lots of details about the journeys of Stanley and Livingstone, and well-written, but perhaps too much information about events taking place at the time but not directly relevant to the story of the two men. 3/5⭐️
Loved this! Such a sweet, lovely story!
On sale today - $1.99 for the Kindle version! I'd never heard of it but it sounds fascinating! Recommended via Read it Forward's "Litscription" email today.
A beautiful story that left me wanting more! Also makes me want to go shopping in thrift/antique shops more often 😊 4/5⭐️
Beautiful writing for food lovers! Not as much of a fully developed story as her other books, but a lovely read overall.
This book is making me drool! Such beautiful writing too... what an eloquent way to capture the joy of eating a pastry even when one is too full to do so! 😍🥐
Loved it! A joy for book lovers and fans of a literary mystery!
In WA state for work and discovered Half Price Books!! 😍 Added these to my TBR and picked up a fun bag and bookmark too!
Very cute and actually less predictable than I kept thinking it was going to be as I read! Lots of random typos, though - perhaps a Kindle version flaw? Overall I enjoyed it - great for a quick, light read!
A Roald Dahl reference right at the very start? I know I'm going to like this one! 😋
The only good thing about travel delays: More reading time!! 🤓📚
Another month, another Audible credit, and another audiobook! 🎧📚#Francophile
In a Paris state of mind... and this pretty book called my name from the TBR stack 😍
Anyone watching the Netflix ASOUE series? I'm really enjoying it so far! Makes me want to read the books again. 🤓📚
OMG. I can't wait for this! I've read and loved almost everything Donnelly has written, and now this!! 😱 I can't wait to get this on Jan. 31!
First book completed in 2017! A great listen - funny and poignant.
