For the "old crocodile," as Williams called himself late in life, the past was always present, and so it is with his continual shifting and intermingling of times, places, and memories as he weaves this story.

Megabooks @deblovestoread already mentioned my all-time favorite, I'll tag it, but also several more. If you are on the storygraph, I am megabucks there too. Go to my all-time stats page, and you will find 500+ memoirs with ratings! 1w
Megabooks The ones I've listed to here are all the ones I have in the storygraph that I've given 5 stars to. I'll do a sweep to see what others I'd like to add! 1w
Megabooks His next main girlfriend spilled even more, but this was definitely more thoughtful and reflective 1w
Megabooks and I'd have to add my favorite Bourdain memoir 1w
CBee @Megabooks wow Meg 👏🏻👏🏻 thanks! I will say I‘ve hesitated to read anything by Bourdain - I was pretty broken up when he died 😥 But, maybe I can try him now! Going to find you on SG, I might need to try and compile all of these into a spreadsheet or something 😂😂😂 1w
CBee @Megabooks oh yes, I‘ve read that one! It was excellent @Deblovestoread 1w
Megabooks Missed this 5 star one, and I think I'll end here. On a great high note. I hope you find some you like! 1w
CBee @AmyG not really 😂 I just really love a good memoir and got inspired by the one I finished today 1w
CBee @lil1inblue LOVED the McCurdy and the Smith. I agree anything by Patti Smith is amazing ♥️ 1w
Megabooks @CBee yes, Bourdain's death was so difficult! Read In the Weeds. Tom was his long-time director, and he does a lot of really good wrestling with his own feelings about Tony's death and Tony's legacy. It's really good! (edited) 1w
CBee @Megabooks I‘ll try that one! 1w
CBee @OndinetheSea @Chelsea.Poole @britt_brooke @MemoirsForMe @lynneamch @willaful @ferskner @BookBelle84 thanks for the recs, I‘ll be busy figuring out which ones to read next! ♥️😀 1w

“I suppose I have found it easier to identify with the characters who verge upon hysteria, who were frightened of life, who were desperate to reach out to another person. But these seemingly fragile people are the strong people really.”

Remembering Tennessee Williams on his birthday.

Just signed up! And guess what, you guys? @suvata has added categories! I‘m pumped to be signed up for the biography/memoir group. I‘ve got some (hopefully great) memoirs in my stacks I‘ve been meaning to get to. 🎉 #LMPBC

suvata I‘m glad you like the idea of having genres. This is the first time we are trying this. After this round we will take a load on walkway works better for y‘all. Enjoy! 5y
Libby1 I‘ve just signed up in the UK group! Thanks for the info, @Hooked_on_books and for organising this, @suvata . 5y
Hooked_on_books @Libby1 You‘re welcome! Hope you love it. I‘ve really enjoyed my rounds thus far. 5y

arubabookwoman I like the idea of categories. Unfortunately, by the time I got onto Litsy late today the only categories left were ones I had no interest in. I'm really disappointed to not be participating in this round of LMPBC! @suvata (edited) 5y
Hooked_on_books @arubabookwoman That would be a disappointment for sure. I would suggest that if certain categories aren‘t as popular, perhaps they could be changed up to anything and/or a different category. Then you could join in. @suvata 5y
suvata @Hooked_on_books @arubabookwoman Let‘s wait until closer to the middle of the month and see if any of the groups are empty. That‘s when I would make a decision about opening up a second group in the same genre. (edited) 5y
arubabookwoman I would love a chance for Classics, International, Literary, Nonfiction, or Biography/Memoir. Regardless of whether that‘s possible, I do want to thank you for all your work in setting this up and keeping it running smoothly-it‘s a great experience! @suvata 5y
