Inspirational.

Unforgettable. A remarkable document of Navalny's work, his resilience, courage, and optimism.
Far from wallowing in depression or denial, he appears naturally upbeat even years into the prison sentence that will end in his death. While it is hard for me to follow his discussions on faith, his unflagging efforts to fight corruption, to call out lies, to acknowledge the cruel absurdities of a self-serving and censorious government 1/?

A remarkable book. Brilliantly written and with great humour and insight into Putin‘s Russia & the arbitrary legal system & capricious targeting of his opponents. Heartbreaking because we see what a great leader has been lost, but inspiring & uplifting as he shows what is possible. It sounds bleak but it was so engaging I couldn‘t put it down. Also a beautiful portrait of his marriage to Yulia. Highly recommended.

I was hesitant about this one- i assumed it would be riddled with accounts of physical abuse. It‘s not. In fact, I finished with really liking and respecting Navalny as the positive, intelligent, curious, leader with integrity that he was. It was a life story and a love letter to the Russian people and his hope for a better world for his family. I loved it. Highly recommend!

A fantastic memoir of Alexei Navalny, an incredibly brave Russian who trained as a lawyer and used his education, position and charisma to expose the corruption of Russian officials and challenge Putin for the presidency. Much of the book was written in a prison cell as Navalny was arrested re-entering Russia after his recovery from being poisoned by the state. An important and moving read from such an impressive man.

An unbelievable account of Navalny‘s work opposing Putin‘s regime. This is mostly a prison memoir, as Navalny was arrested reentering his beloved home country of Russia after being poisoned and nearly killed prior and recovering out of the country. He, with the help of his team, has continued to speak from his prison cell, reporting on the the atrocities such as lack of food and healthcare until his untimely death at the hands of the state. ⬇️

Alexei Navalny loved his county but hated the corruption of its leaders, so he used his training as a lawyer to investigate that corruption and expose it with evidence on his blog. This led him into politics and eventually into challenging Putin for the presidency. This extraordinary memoir shows his humanity, humor, and love for country and family. Everyone should read this.
