I loved it. The imagery was incredible, reading it felt like a movie.

Today is a rough day. Have to say goodbye to my best friend and reading buddy, Lady. She's been in my life for over 15 years. She loved balls and loved to show them to everyone. Everyone and every animal was her best friend. She liked snuggling up in a warm blanket and listening to me read. I'm going to miss her so much, but I know she won't be suffering anymore.
When you work at a library, sometimes you get to take some discarded books home #bookhaul
The day 10 prompt of "Any animal in title" for the #BigJuneReadathon #photochallenge is represented by a dog, squirrel, oyster, bird, falcon, serpent, bees, and fireflies. These are all on my shelves.

10/52: A Dog‘s Purpose
Cry, sobbing, throwing up, this book was so good and had such a sad and happy ending. All the perspectives got to me in so many ways. Beautiful story.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this book, there are some sad moments but it‘s a good read.

I might be a 🤖 compared to others, but sometimes a precious moment will cause a little eye leakage.
My big weakness is dogs. A Dog's Purpose and Lily & the Octopus made me ugly cry so hard that Sarah Mclachlan is playing in my head as I type this just thinking about them.

Such a wonderful story about love, loyalty and the undying bond between a dog and his human, a must read for every dog owner or lover. The audio narration really brought this one to life.
Last night I lost my favorite reading partner, Tatum. She was so much more than a dog to me. She loved our peaceful reading sessions away from the two wild boy toddlers. She always attempted to lick away my tears if I were crying. She had saint like patience. She was strong and stark and sweet. I really love the theory of A Dog's Purpose and hope more than anything that my sweet Tatum is a bleary eyed puppy somewhere warm in this world. ❤❤❤

1. I‘ve loved dogs my whole life and I really hope this book is right about what happens when our fur babies leave us. We humans really don‘t deserve dogs! 🐶❤️
2. 🍂🍁🍂🍁
3. Hard to pick just one...Hocus Pocus, The Lost Boys, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Ghostbusters are all faves! 🎬
If you want to play, consider yourself tagged! 🤗

1. As a dog lover, I want to believe in this story. I ugly cried more than I wasn't during the reading.
2. I have a few items up all year, but this year I added cheap garland & gourds to the big window.
3. I like them scary: Trick R Treat, The Devil's Rejects, Sleepy Hollow, & for balance, Beetlejuice. Dutch makes me think of Thanksgiving.
@Sweetkokoro @Bookzombie wanna play?

I love my little reading buddy 💕 When my toddler naps, we have some books and playtime at our beck and call ☺️
I cried so much because it‘s all so real and made me miss my dog so much.
Normally, if I‘m working on my yard the dogs get to come out of the fence with me. But neighbors are doing something that involves multiple cars. Well they have spent the last hour trying to get through the fence. Flib (the grey one) succeeded. Demon is bigger and can not fit through the small rungs flib can. They chewed the wire ties holding up the chicken wire and dig between the partially barried rail. All so she can sit under the swing.
I enjoyed reading from a dog's perspective, especially when the dog describes his reasoning behind getting into the garbage, chewing shoes, and how he feels about cats, lol! There were both heartwarming and sad parts of the book, and the overall story was great.

I laughed; I cried. It‘s such a beautiful and heart warming story about the world‘s most loyal dog. Immediately after finishing, I had to snuggle my own three dogs.
It was a great book! I watched the movie and wanted to read the book. I am not a big fan of dogs but I loved these books and movies!
I don't even know where to begin with this book. I laughed and cried. I felt everything from overjoyed to heartbroken. As a lifetime dog owner, I see my dog in a whole new light. She has made me, given me comfort and watched over my babies. It is a must read.
It took me a bit to get through this one. My daughter loves the puppy‘s purpose series. Written from the dog‘s perspective, the writing is a bit simple. It just made it difficult for me to listen to it for long stretches. Glad I finished it, but I couldn‘t imagine diving into the next one any time soon. My daughter did mention that Bailey‘s story and Ellie‘s story were similar to this book.
On the last few pages..... Sweet, written to tug the heartstrings 😭😭😭😭😭 My Rosie dog isn't bothered 🐶❤️

#nextup I watched the movie with one of my boys a while ago so I know I'm going to sob like an idiot 😭😭 Blame @TrishB who sent me this gift 😘😘😄
A review from my 10 year old who feels so accomplished to have finished this 319 page novel.
She says ~ There was kindnes, gratitude and happiness in this book. He had happy lives. The ending was a mixture of happiness and sadness.
With all of my dads health issues he hasn‘t seen his dog in 3 weeks... today we were able to bring bubba to see dad and I got to witness the power of how healing an animal can truly be... they were so happy to see each other!!!
Believe it or not, I did not cry! But there were moments...lots of them...what a great book, and though the end is sad, it is also satisfying.

Oh my goodness, this book is wonderful...and awful!
It also makes me wonder, do my dogs understand ANYTHING that I say? 🤣💜
It might be National Book Lovers Day, but I decided I needed to watch the companion movie to the last book I finished before cracking open a new one.

Lately my dog‘s purpose has been destroying things! (He‘s only 16 weeks old!)
The job of a good dog was ultimately to be with them, remaining by their sides no matter what course their lives might take.
At first I wasn‘t really sure about this one...being that the story is told from the POV of a dog living many different lives, it was a little difficult to follow, as I would consider a dog an unreliable narrator.
Beyond that it was a fun, adventurous, humorous, heartwarming and heartbreaking read all the way through.
Bonus brownie points for a character whose name was Chelsea. 😉
If you‘re a dog owner or dog lover you‘ll enjoy this one.
It‘s been a while since I‘ve had a Bookly accomplishment...feels good to complete one tonight! 📖💯📚
You know you‘re a disability etiquette and person first language advocate when you read something like this and internally are like “ it‘s PATIENT/PERSON WITH ALZHEIMERS, people!! Write it right!!”
A light read but oh so rewarding. You get way more than you think you‘re gonna get out of this book. If you think I‘m kidding then look at the pic.
Haven‘t read it, it‘s a story of a dog as it lives through several lives..the narration from the dog‘s POV.
“This story teaches us that love never dies, that our true friends are always with us and that every creature on earth is born with a purpose.”

Since I got so much love about this sweet boy, Church, I wanted to give you an update. We went to the vet yesterday and even though he was terrified he did great. He is on meds for his sores. He had a bath-it took two of us to bathe him. He doesn‘t know how a leash works and still cowers constantly but slept like a little angel curled up between my husband and I last night. We have a long way to go but he has already come so far. #dogsoflitsy
📚 A Dog's Purpose...so! so! sad! But amazing 😁
🎞 Marley and Me (also very sad 😢)

A few chapters in and I wasn‘t sure I liked this book, however it did grow on me and I found myself crying a few times throughout the book. It was a cute story. 3 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I loved this book sooo much. It made me laugh and cry and ugly cry. It tugged on my heart strings and if it were possible made me love the dogs in my life 10x more. In excited to read the sequel w. Bruce Cameron has a way telling this story so beautifully that i felt the needs and anxiety of the dog i adored this book so much
New to me book mail!

I wanted to like this one, I really did. It seemed repetitive and got boring after the first half.

Flight delayed 90 minutes. I hope I have enough books for this trip!!
