A quick paced love story between the internets favourite couple. This story made their relationship more realistic the miscommunication and tension really added to the characters something I have found Oseman is very skilled at. I adored this novella 4🌟

Solitaire is a fairly slow paced book but the mystery of who is running Solitaire and why keeps the reader invested. But the highlight of this book is the characters they do not fit the typical mould of YA they are depressed, anxious and angry but not in the cliche way I see a lot in my reading Oseman writes in such a way that their feelings are realistic to a teenager in present day which is refreshing and emotional to experience and I adore it

I first read The Selection 8 years ago and I gave it 5🌟 then. Today I give it 3🌟. When I first read the first book of this series I adored it. Now it was entertaining enough if a little boring at times the rebels and caste system is very vague and not well built upon. However I am a sucker for the Bachelor type competition.

analuiza_martins2007 Hey, I also read the selection series, and I totally agree with you. I just finished “red queen” and I think you‘ll rly like it. It has a lot in common with the selection, related to the rebels and the casts, but it‘s way more exciting. I super recommend it✨ 4y
Lizzie2219 @analuiza_martins2007 hey I‘ve read Red Queen and I agree with you 4y
paytanmal I have to agree. Even though it was a quick & easy read and it was fast to get into the plot i feel as though the caste system was not well thought out and felt too much like hunger games. It felt like a copycat of bachelor & hunger games and didn‘t feel like there was an original piece to this book. Still enjoyed reading it. For the sole fact it was quick & fun 4y

6 years ago when I first read this book I gave it 5🌟. Today I give 5🌟 maybe it is a little bit of bias since it was one of the first novels I read but I deeply enjoy this story it made me cry like actual tears something not many books have achieved. The characters were likeable the story was good and moved at a good pace. Six years ago I was shaking after I finished today I am just as in love with it.

3🌟- Generally I am not a contemporary fan I will pick one up every now and then and enjoy it. That being said I did very much enjoy this book I thought it was interesting and entertaining if a little lack lustre in a conflict. Also I felt there was no big character development. I did enjoy the inclusion of math and the appendix and footnotes I thought that was creative and different. Overall it was an enjoyable easy read

I really enjoyed this book. I liked the plot twist I caught on to it but not too early that it ruined the story for me. Audrey Rose is a very entertaining and interesting main character and Thomas very much reminded me of the Sherlock Holmes character. However unlike Sherlock Holmes when the evidence was given I didn‘t feel like they had discovered knowledge without me it felt like I was coming to the conclusion at the same time 5 🌟

About half way through Black Ice. It‘s okay it‘s a very predictable young adult novel right now. The characters aside from maybe Jude are all unlikable to me. I will finish this book it is fairly enjoyable but not a great first read to 2021 so far

4⭐️- this is a beautifully written heart wrenching story. I adored this book. Personally Junes perspective was my favourite you could feel her pain and confusion and loneliness. I loved the diversity of the characters and the touches on issues like racism eating disorders and depression- subjects that were addressed so naturally and beautifully in the story.

Currently reading this so far love it but I am a little lost it took me a second to remember who was who but I love the diverse cast of characters for some reason i had no idea it had POC characters and Asian characters it was a happy surprise Ive been trying to expand my reading to LGBTQ stories and POC stories so can‘t wait to really get into this

4⭐️- this was a stereotypical cringy teen drama and i loved it. ❤️i loved the relationship arc of Daemon and Katy i loved their characters. I wish Dee and Katy‘s friendship was showcased more but I have a huge soft spot for these stereotypical teen books with the hate to love plot line. Please read this ❤️

3⭐️- my complaint i had through the book about the vanity and body image is why this is a 3 star book I probably would have made it 5 because the story and characters are good and there is growth and its a good setting of the stage for the series but the vanity of it all along with the confusion of the time period and the weird graphic parts really lowered my enjoyment. But i do recommend it just dont have super high hopes

I thought Kelsea was growing from her vanity but this quote is the most damaging body shaming quote i have ever read. It‘s just heartbreaking that this is everywhere in this novel. Because the story and world is interesting i just can‘t get over this.

Alright that trope i brought up before about kelsea being “plain” is constant every new character we meet makes a comment about how “plain” she is. I dont know what that means when she was first described she sounded pretty but apparently thats plain. Again i hate this trope it describes her as slim but also big and she has dark skin-tan- which is apparently bad. As i said i think this is a damaging to describe a character in a young adult novel

3⭐️— much like the first two books its good the storyline is enjoyable. I like the fact that each book is written in each of the dragonets POV‘s. Like always its a good transition between children and young adult. It has more mature theming and content but is still that childish whimsical tone in other points I enjoyed the book from beginning to end

My next read is the queen of the Tearling ummm... I‘m ten pages in and the author has already used the trope the main character isnt tall skinny and blonde so they cant be pretty for me this is a very damaging trope especially for the intended audience(teenagers) im hoping to move past that and the storyline will be good but that definitely will drop my rating and enjoyment of the book

Im reading this book for school. And what always happens to me when i read for school is i end up hating the book because i have to analyze and look way deeper into things than i would on my own. With this book im trying really hard not to fall into that i hate this because i have to read it thing but im honestly struggling im only 50 pages in so maybe it‘ll get better

4⭐️- I really enjoyed this book im usually not that big on memoirs but i adored JVN on queer eye and I really appreciated this insight on what he‘s really like not just a big flamboyant persona. I admired his story and the courage it took to share that to complete strangers i read a couple of reviews saying he didn‘t go into detail on it but I didnt expect him to he was sharing raw personal experiences i feel the way he delivered them was great

3⭐️—- the book was good the story was a good concept. I do feel like it was long there was not as much action and fighting as i thought there would be with a book that was sold to me being about space pirates. The characters were likable and i was cheering for them but they spent too much time on insignificant things instead of the more important things that also then made it feel a little rushed to me.

3.5⭐️— Overall this was a pretty good book I enjoyed the characters a lot i liked how the author really tied together the two story lines. However it was the same issue i had with Sherlock Holmes our heros had solved the mystery with information the reader did not have until it was revealed who did it. I want to be able to solve it with the characters. But i was invested in the story and the problem Lockwood & Co. faced

4⭐️— this was a really cute light hearted book. I was emotionally invested in both characters and their stories. As I mentioned before Ava‘s obsessive thoughts and anxiety hit close to home for me and put this from a 3 star book to a 4. I highly recommend especially for 16-19 year olds because it touches on a lot of stuff young adults go through and give good insight for it. Overall a great first read for 2020

Ok pt 2 sorry but all of Ava‘s emails where she is overthinking and panicking and giving reasons to stay with things that make her miserable for me perfectly shows what anxiety feels like as a mental illness at least for me and my experience with it. That is really what boosts this book for me the handling of specifically anxiety as a mental illness. It shows people the thought process and endless loop that is anxiety

Hi okay i need to talk about this book really quickly before i finish it later today. I went into this thinking it would be an average book with mediocre teenage problems and you know what it kind of is. Finding out your boyfriend kissed your friend once not having an idea of who you are are all problems people face in college, but the thing that sent this book over the edge for me was Ava and her anxiety and mental state because its relatable

5⭐️—- i love this book I haven‘t had this kind of feeling after a book in a little while i want more. I loved the main character usually in young adult fantasies i cringe at the main character but I honestly loved her and he arc and it was a great opening novel leads way to multiple stories and i felt that the story would continue which is good for a series opener
