What truly resonates with me about this book is its practicality. Carnegie's principles, though simple in concept, offer profound insights into the art of building genuine relationships and influencing others positively....

Someone told me this book still held up. It‘s not that I disagree, but I suspect that many women naturally approach situations in the recommended ways (e.g., kindness, flattery, make them think it‘s their idea) because men still don‘t listen to us in the same way they listen to each other. So I felt more annoyed than inspired by it. In fact, it often felt downright condescending. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Susanita The By the Book podcast discussed this a couple seasons ago. https://overcast.fm/+U7FoMdqTs 3y

Love this book so much...
I find that smiles are bringing me dollars, many dollars everyday.... There is nothing either good or evil but your thought makes it so and if you aspire to be a great conversationalist be an attentive listener, to be interesting be interested. A man without a smiling face must not open a shop........

I understand why this is a classic. The advice is still very relevant. The #audiobook is really well done though it could probably use a refresh. The cover could use an update also.

3/5 🌟 Just finished it today! Not sure how to feel, not really the book I'd recommend to someone who wants to make friends but definitely one for people in #business #sales and the #workplace. The tips come off manipulative when applied to actual friendships but fit right in for businesses. Also, many of the examples felt convenient so I took them with a grain of salt. Wouldn't spend money on this, the tips aren't anything eye opening #selfhelp

Very interesting book full of good practical advice for dealing with people. Although it‘s a quick read, it‘s packed with sensible advice and I‘ll definitely be re-reading it multiple times (as the author suggests doing) in order to absorb as much of the advice as possible and put it into effect. I expect to update this review in the future as I try out Carnegie‘s tactics.

What is active listening? Simple, just pay attention to what people are saying, ask questions, be interested and just let the other person speak. By listening we are doing a lot of good in the world.

(This is the spanish version, but it basically says: an easy way to become a good conversationalist. 👇👇comment below if you know the original).

I have not even finished it and it is already a life changing book. It is not a personal-growth nor self-help nor coaching book, it is simply a book based on research and sincerity. I will recommend to everybody reading it

This book was not what I expected. I think it is done a disservice by its title, which to me sounded like a selfish approach to get ahead. I resisted reading it but wanted to read all the classic sales books and I‘m glad I did. Rather than teaching how to be fake it actually lays out the reasons why it pays to be nice. What a refreshing reminder of how the world should operate. The principles still hold true even 80 years later!

Reading this book at a nail salon.......Finding myself trying to hide the title. Why? I‘m actually really enjoying this book and have been pleasantly surprised at how genuine and true the advice is. The title makes it sound like you are learning how to manipulate and deceive but it doesn‘t feel that way. Did I compliment my nail tech on the massage and get an extra 5 minutes? Maybe 😇. But it made both of us feel good.....

Took me a while to finish that one, geez! This is two books in one. Did not realize this was published in 1936/1944! Great, sound ideas for life and work. How to Stop Worrying second book got tedious after a while. Worth it overall.
