Thanks @Lauram for the fun quiz!! I love this breakdown. 💛📚
To find out how fast you read check out this quiz:
http://mentalfloss.com/article/570929/how-many-books-to-read-year-test?utm_sourc...

bewareofwords This is so cool! You‘re such a fast reader 😱 I‘ve always wished I could read faster haha. I try to make up for it by being a dedicated reader 😅 6y
Hope_a I‘m reading faster than 45%. Having in mind that English isn‘t my native language- it‘s quite a score. 😋 I‘m reading much faster in my own language for sure. 😅 6y
Jess_Franzino Mine said only 22%, but I also don‘t have my glasses on, the screen kept freezing, and my fiancé decided to come out to the kitchen (where I‘m sitting), and scrounge around the fridge. ? Will have to try it again later. 6y
sudi It said i could get through 21 books if i read for 30 minutes daily .... sounds about right 😊,i'm a pretty slow reader 🙈 6y

Fun test! In Litsy terms I think I'm a pretty slow reader and I'm fine with that. Turns out that I'm average according to this test......wonder what number you'd get @TrishB 😉
http://projects.wsj.com/speedread/

DuckOfDoom I came out with 663 words... But that is not always the case, my reading speed varies a great deal depending on the book. The text was really simple, though 😁 6y
Cathythoughts Must try later on 👍🏻😬 6y
Leniverse I score a lot higher on these tests than my actual reading speed. Sure, I can zoom along and grasp content, but when I read a novel I read for more than just facts and info. And of course, like @DuckOfDoom says, it depends on the text! 6y
See All 6 Comments
DuckOfDoom @Leniverse pretty good description, I totally agree. Reading a good book brings so much joy and I take my time. But it is cool to know that my top reading speed is so high 😁 6y
Leniverse @DuckOfDoom Yes, your top speed is impressive! 6y
ErickaS_Flyleafunfurled I get too nervous when I‘m timed 😬😆 6y

I got this book from the library, renewed it two times and then I had to give it back. I immediately got another copy, because I obviously need a book about speed reading, if i don‘t manage to read it in nine weeks. 🙄⠀

#slowReader #ActuallyReadingTheBookMightHelpWithSpeed #WhyDoesntOsmosisWorkWithBooks

julesG I should get this, too. I would love to be a faster reader. 6y
RadicalReader @Eki you‘ll be seriously the most speedy reader in all of bookville 6y

That was fun. I expected a better result as speed reading was how I learned to read back in second grade....but in my defense I had a hellacious day and am mentally and physically exhausted!

388 words per minute. Good enough for me. I figured I was probably above the national average, but not 55% above.

Yeah. I read fast lol. I always have. I listen fast too. I always bump audio up to at least 1.5 and usually higher. 😊

Drnkpnkprincess Woah. I only talk fast. I‘d love to speed my reading up though... 7y

Oops! This is so wrong. I don‘t know what happened. I think it‘s broken, I‘m NOT a fast reader. 😂😂

jpmcwisemorgan They don‘t even have anything to compare your score to! 7y
Dolly @MinDea @TricksyTails @AmyG @jpmcwisemorgan 😂. I‘m wondering if I somehow skipped a whole paragraph or two then got lucky with the questions. I got 1 wrong out of 5? 6? 7? See I don‘t even remember how many questions = poor reader 🤷🏼‍♀️ 7y
JoScho I did it three times because I wasn‘t so sure about the accuracy either but wow you the flash! 😂 7y
Dolly @JoScho A few more points and it would‘ve matched my IQ 🤥 7y

I've always been a slow reader. I did this test in 2014 and since then I've read MANY books. I'm not as slow as I used to be. Want to test your own reading speed?
https://m.staples.com/sbd/cre/marketing/technology-research-centers/ereaders/spe...

The_Heeler_Booklife My reading speed is 336 wpm, which is 34% faster than national average. 7y
Christine11 I got 288 wpm and 15% faster than average. I‘ve never really thought about it before - it‘s really interesting! 😊 7y
cobwebmoth Mine was 362 wpm. Thanks for sharing the link! 7y
See All 21 Comments
Kaye I got 316. I wasted a second or two to adjust the screen size for bigger print. I‘m surprised I got all the questions right. 😮 I didn‘t think I was paying close enough attention. 7y
Alismcg it depends upon the type of read that i'm into... if it's something that's 'heavy' i may ruminate. I like to consider things deeply. Other more entertaining reads may be skimmed 7y
Tianarose I got 517. But I think I depends on the book I‘m reading and what‘s going on around me. 7y
Spillytalker 626 I impressed myself. 7y
Utopiyll If I'm reading Virginia Woolf you bet I am going to be reading at 10 wpm, but, as this test states, I usually read at 360 wpm! 7y
InBooksILive My reading speed is 388 wpm, 55% faster than average. Not too shabby I suppose Haha ☺️ 7y
Pamwurtzler I did it twice & got 488 the first time & 520-something the second time. @drbethandherkindle you should try this! 7y
cj82487 I've used the word runner on my kindle fire and had to slow it down to around 240 but on some books I've had to speed it up closer to 300. I think it has a lot to do with the type of book. 7y
readingjedi I'm 68% faster than average 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I just don't buy it! I'm slow with a big S. 7y
AThousandLives87 I got 371 words per minute. But I really think that depends. 7y
Chasing_Pages This just confirmed what I‘ve always known, I‘m very slow and below average. 🤣 7y
DebbieGrillo @Chasing-Pages Welcome to my club! 7y
CunningFox I know I am a slower reader. I tend to analyze every single sentence. However, I got faster than average when I read the excerpt from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and then slower than average on the other one. 7y
Chasing_Pages @DebbieGrillo Yes, thank you! I think it makes it that much more impressive how many books I read every month. Now I know how some people can read hundreds every year. 7y
Phlamboyant @Kaye Me, too! I thought I was done for when they also tested for comprehension, but somehow got them all. Also a 316 here. 7y
MelindaCooper I always thought I was a fast reader but only got 249 words per minute (and scored 3/3 on the comprehension questions) 7y
torilee112 First time I did it. I did 226 wpm and the second time I did 308. Totally depends on what you're reading 7y
RadicalReader @DebbieGrillo that is incredible that there is a test to tell someone how fast they read. Wonder if they'd call the speed someone reads at wpm for words per minute? 7y

Doing some 2018 prep. These are the shortest books on my “potential #MountTBR shelf” on Goodreads. They are all ebooks, which will be good to squeeze in during breaks at work!

I also need to pick some hard copies off my shelf. I really think I‘d like to start with A Man Called Ove.

Of course, my planned monthly TBRs never go as planned, so we shall see come 31 days from now...

KellyK A Man Called Ove ❤️❤️❤️ (but it also made me cry). (edited) 7y
RebL With @KellyK. So much ❤️ for Ove. 7y
Andrew65 I may be starting with A Man Called Ove too. 7y

Lots of distractions from my #readathon attempt. I feel like I need to speed read to get through the book I‘m reading before tonight‘s Anime on Ice extravaganza.

DGRachel OMG, this is perfect for me right now! My #readathon has turned into a Marvel movie marathon because my heart was broken after finishing my book this morning. I cried. Tried to take a nap (and couldn't) and can't bring myself to read anything else because I need the sequel to the book that crushed my spirit. So...Spider-Man Homecoming followed by Captain America it is! 7y
jpmcwisemorgan @DGRachel A readathon shouldn‘t be traumatic so Marvel movies sound like a good way to alleviate a heart broken by a book. Also, the movies are based on comics so it‘s like reading on TV. Maybe? 7y
DGRachel @jpmcwisemorgan I like the way you think! 😉 7y

Sure I did a similar one to this but I feel like these questions are different and I love a buzzfeed quiz. I'm definitely a binge reader, I either read 10 books really quickly or take ages to read one

NYPL speed reading quiz! I got 804 WPM, pretty chuffed 😀😀😀

http://tinyurl.com/jupekrw

Kimzey Wow! 🏁 Speedy! 8y
Lindy Very fast! I got 402 wpm. 8y
cariashley Ooh great quiz! I only got 365 which still seems to be above average. I've always wanted to read faster but have never figured out how (I certainly practice enough!) 🤔 8y
Kitta 603 on this test! 😄 8y
LauraJ I got 564, with the distraction of two cats fighting in my lap. It may be because I was already familiar with all the books they chose samples from. I feel like I'm an average reader. 8y

Whatannareads @charl08, interesting to know thanks for the feed back. To be honest I haven't picked it up since, as I have been visiting my parents. I am a bit sceptical about it X 8y
