I took the cover off to read it 'cause touching his face was really creeping me out.

Halfway through and it's getting twisty! I've been waiting for a standalone Tana French because all I hear is how amazing she is (series are hard for me because I can't stop!) and now I'm going to have to backlist after all. 😂
Ran into this guy over the weekend and no joke, he is sunshine in human form. I'll be reading THIS IS THE DAY and cheering him on. ❤️
Been saving this one for a lazy Sunday!
Gave up on work early today and started reading. Don't tell my editor.
A book set in Nashville? Let's do this.
The latest TBR pile from my Porch Book Club, which is just my husband's elderly aunt leaving books she loves on my front porch. It's the best! (I've been reading GRANT since January 😬)
Hay fever eyes aren't going to stop me from reading this today!
Everyone at my house is sleeping off the football Saturday so I got up early to read. SHHHH don't wake them up.
Y'all seem to like it, so I'm diving in!
Wheelhouse.
Plans for the next the next few days: reading this book for *two* newspaper reviews and eating this beautiful moon and stars watermelon. 👍🏼
I love when I don't know that one of my favorites has a new book coming out and it magically manifests on my porch like a magic unicorn gift from the book gods. (OK so this is the first time that's ever happened.)
I'm reading this because I'm reviewing it, but I think I would have picked it up anyway!
I'm being featured in a magazine next month and they didn't have time to send a photographer to me so this is what they got. Dirty hair, don't care. 😂 (Hate having my photo taken so I'm treating myself to the new Fred Rogers bio.)
A crummy day is no match for Ellie Kemper's memoir! (I so needed this right now.)
The latest read for my "Front Porch Book Club" which is my husband's elderly aunt and I exchanging books by leaving them on each other's porches.
Woodrow Wilson, 1908.
My husband's aunt and I have our own little book club, where we randomly leave books on each other's porches that we liked. It's pretty great. Here's this week's!
Scored a signed copy of my all-time favorite writer's new book at my local indie!
The best part about book festivals is finding new books! So excited about this one!
Since I have been sitting in my new ladyboss recliner today, the Duchess gave birth to a prince and has already left the hospital in heels. I haven't made it to the shower, and a giant Blind Pig sandwich will arrive at my front door in 30 minutes. To each her own...
I was lucky enough to moderate the *first ever* conversation with literary power couple Therese Anne Fowler and John Kessel! They were a riot, and the fact that they both write greatness under the same roof makes my brain go KA-POW. She gave her first public reading from A WELL-BEHAVED WOMAN, her forthcoming novel about Alva Smith Vanderbilt Belmont.
Had a BLAST this past weekend moderating two author conversations at the 3rd Unbound Book Festival in Columbia, Missouri! Here I am after my session with Michael Nye and Robin Sloan. (We crushed it!)
Said goodbye to my good boy Ralph on Monday, and this is my first book day without him. While I am heartbroken and sad, I know he is at peace. Thank you all for loving him, and I hope he gave you a good virtual boop. (The boy loved some boops.)
The weather is terrible today, but perfect for reading and ripe for panicked good boys. (Good girl is *under* the bed.)
I have TWO WEEKS to read these four books to prepare for the TWO author conversations I'm moderating at the Unbound Book Festival in Columbia, MO. I think I should take off to the beach...
Prepping for an upcoming panel I'm moderating! LUCKY, LUCKY ME! 🤓📚
I have some news! See y'all in Columbia, MO on April 21st! (My THIRD time as a moderator!)
Signatures are fascinating. Ready to start this baby!
hi whatcha reading can i sit on you
When I was at Square Books today, I found a blurb I wrote in a book!
So my husband went on vacation with his brothers and without me, and I was feeling a little blue so I went to my favorite bookstore and treated myself to some signed goodies!!! And stopped by the bakery for a slice of cake....
I've been reading this book for two months and it took me that long to see the irony of using a copper Mississippi bookmark that was purchased at the Old State Capitol Museum
Agreed to speak at a convention without checking who else was speaking. Probably shouldn't have done that. 😬 (omg)
MAIL CALL. My doorbell doesn't work, but she had noooooo problem letting me know my book was here. Can't wait to read this one!
I feel like this is a recurring issue. Or Ralph knows I'll post him on Litsy for virtual pets. (PS This book is so good. Hopefully I'll get it back from him shortly.)
I'm married to an opera singer (former, I should say) and I can't tell you how excited I am to freak him out by name dropping bits from this beautiful book. 😂
