Just got this in the mail today. Already half way through it. I'll be sending this and No Matter the Wreckage out by the end of the week. This has been a fun round with #LMPBC

I had a slight preference for the prose poems scattered throughout where the ideas were developed more naturally than in the pieces with overly formal and overly simplistic meter and rhyme, but in general this wasn‘t for me and my favorite part was actually the illustrations opening each section. #LMPBC @Chrissyreadit @TheBookHippie
“A toast! To new beginnings, in fear and faith and all it tinges. To love is a dare, when hope and despair, are gates upon it hinges.”
I was absolutely lost in Leav's word play.
The ebb and flow of her poems drew me in like a tide and did let go of me until the end.
I'm definitely getting more of her work!
I found a poem by Leav on the day of the breakup that brought me so much clarity... I've been compulsively consuming the rest of her poetry (at least what I can get my hands on) since. I'm a bit more on the "misadventure" side of things, but her writing truly strikes a chord in my broken heart.
That Day
I remember our highs in hues,
like the color of eyes
as the sun was setting;
the pale of his hands in mine,
and the blue of his smile.
I remember our sorrows in shades,
like the gray of the shadows,
which loomed that day,
and the white in his lie
when he promised to stay.

This is my third of hers, but I think it‘s actually her first book.. I adored this collection of poetry. She‘s got such a gentle, but powerful voice. Quiet and contemplative, I really enjoyed the structure too. The rhyme schemes were just slightly off kilter. Made them wonderful to read silently, but hard to read out loud. I kept thinking there be one more or one less syllable or the rhyme would just just a bit sooner each time. So beautiful 💗💗
My first experience with her poetry.
Written in three parts Misadventure, The Circus Of Sorrows and Love.
I enjoyed the middle section the most. The other two didn't really grab me.
This is her first collection. I will definitely try her others because I did enjoy parts of this one. But overall I was expecting more.
Have you read her work?

Another disappointment following Milk and Honey. If modern poetry was supposed to be like this, I‘m happy to skip all.
Next on the list for tonight 💘
#TBRtemptation post 7! The Churchill Fellowship-winner is a poet and internationally exhibiting artist. This is a roller-coaster ride through an ill-fated love affair, from the first butterflies to the soaring heights to the plunging crash. She conveys complex emotions through simple verse. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎
Beautifully written, a must read if your a poetry reader!!
I didn't really like this collection. Its whimsicalness and sugar-sweetness didn't resonate with me at all. The poems seemed superficial, and it was only the longer prose poems that made me feel something.
Leav's own illustrations throughout were pretty great though.
Oh I like to read from this book... once in a while I take it out and read a poem or two...
This book is not loved by all but I really enjoy it when I am in the mood for a bit romance 😍
A collection of poems that strike a chord! It was a short quick read and I went back and read the whole thing all over again once I was done.
Perfect rainy day read - heart break poems. I'm drowning in Lang Leav's words today and it is perfect for this prompt!! #aprilbookshowers #poetry

I've read some of Lang Leav's poetry on Facebook, and I liked it, so I grabbed this at the library. It...well, it isn't great. There were a handful of poems that had some brilliant lines, but overall, it felt pretty amateurish. Since I did think there were a few really good ones, and I've liked some of her stuff on Facebook, I will give another of her collections a try, and hope that this was just not the one for me. (I included one I liked.)
