Did you watch American Crime Story? Delve deeper and read this book.

BooksPieAndCoffee Yes! I was absolutely enthralled with that show! I watched the whole series twice! Amazing acting by the entire cast! 👌🏾 8y
ApoptyGina69 Loved the series. Even though I lived through all that, I didn't remember a lot of the details. Looking forward to the book. 8y
bookandcat The series was so great. Now I'm curious about the book. 8y
KTOHARA The OJ book, "The Run of His Life", what is the copyright year on it? I seem to recall reading that a long time ago. (edited) 6y

Collection of essays from leading feminist figures

Hornsby78 I have not read the book but I must say that reading the graphic above makes my eye twitch. Simply because a woman wrote something does not mean it is not sexist. Women adopt the patriarchal mindsets of society just as easily as men do and use those mindsets against other women every day of the week. Feminism is simply the radical notion that women are people. By that yard stick, Clinton is a feminist. 8y
KTOHARA I have not read the book and can‘t imagine ever doing so as the author of the FAQ certainly sounds extremely belligerent and may be militant. Furthermore, unlike Secretary of State Clinton, she is not advancing any feminist cause that will be long lasting. Even Bill Clinton is a feminist when he said "You get two for the price of one." and that "Hillary is smarter than I am!". I agree with you, Hornsby. Your yardstick is a good one that'll stand.. 6y

mab-solenne I think this book changed my life. At first i vetoed it, aft er the way 1 ended. But then i fell for it, hard. The whole series is so solid and smart, the magic less fantastic and more mathematical. And this book 2, with Julia, it's perfect. 7y

MamaJow I liked this way more than I thought I would. Not a cheesy grown up Harry Potter book. 8y
ErinBecker Anyone have mixed feelings about the first one but end up liking the others? I wasn't quite convinced by Book 1—had trouble engaging with the characters and disliked how the portrayal of women was so one-dimensional—but loved the magic system and the world and find myself wanting to give it a second try... 8y
SFPublicLibrary All your comments make me want to stay home and read all day!! 8y
dedeteeters Took me a bit to get into the first one, but at about the halfway point I was hooked. Book Two is on my radar, want to watch the series but maybe I'll wait till I've read all 3. 8y
