When you don't know what to read next... :)
Got it yesterday, and already it's half done... I needed something light, readable and full of intrigue, especially since I have Knausgård to read afterwards. ❤❤❤ Have you read it?

"My father had left a small collection of books in a little room upstairs, to which I had access (for it adjoined my own) and which nobody else in our house ever troubled. (...) They kept alive my fancy, and my hope of something beyond that place and time . . . ~ Charles Dickens, David Copperfield

This was truly a strange, beautiful and often sorrowful book. I loved this book! The magic realism of the writing is completely enchanting, and I truly do love family sagas. The writing is so lyrical, so simplistic yet beautiful and it is easy to get lost in this tale of love and loss. Also, it is one of those books that almost broke me by the end... This will be one of those books that stay with me.
"The female friendship is the most wonderful thing among the things that do not exist."
Deep dived into my very first Karin Slaughter book! Oh my!
Starting this mega-hit from my own country. Considering I don't often read Croatian authors, I'm really looking forward to it!
This book was seductive and shattering at the same time. It deals with a single aspect of domestic violence we still don‘t know how to talk about – why do women stay in violent relationships (and not just women!)? Why don‘t they just leave? I believe this book managed to answer this question or at least give it a good shot.
Tchaikovsky understands good writing, and he understands the science behind his work. The level of familiarity and knowledge he has as professional of zoology is so remarkable in this book and for the first time, I felt I understand these creepy, alien creatures we refer to as spiders. The ending was perfect, inspirational and emotional. I truly wish there were more books like this one.
Ng‘s writing style is so unique and masterful, the characters and their stories came alive easily. The true power of this book is that it tackles some very hard questions, and not really answering them it just made me uncomfortably squirm in my own thoughts, decisions, life views… Shaker Highs is a progressive, liberal community, who still seems to fall in all the traps (and tropes) of close-mindedness and fear.
#newbooks !!! I repeat! #newbooks 😍😍😍

How to start your Saturday? While still in your PJ's, walk over to the neighborhood library and pick up some new books!
Believe it or not, this is a caption of an actual book I'm reading. Limited Croatian edition of this title is spectacular! It glows! ❤ #neilgaiman
Nightingale is back on the New York times best seller list! That makes it 63 weeks!
It is a great book to pick up when you need something immersive and exciting, but also very easy to read. The language Sanderson uses is simple and fluent, but the world he built is deep and complex, which makes this a really, really fun.
Those who have seen Blade Runner 2049 will know what I'm talking about:
Cells interlinked within cells interlinked
Within one stem. And, dreadfully distinct
Against the dark, a tall white fountain played.
I always stack a couple of books on my night stand even if I'm not currently reading them. The comfort they provide only a fellow #bookworm could understand. ❤
Those glorious days when the postman brings you #books instead of bills. 😍
Starting this lovely today. How did you like it?
Definitely a favourite time travel series! #FunFridayPhoto
This was a difficult book. It systematically devours your every expectation on how the story will develop. Story is hectic, messy, cringworthy, bloddy... I think even the author struggled a lot. Also, it is not your tipical coming of age YA fantasy story.
The value of this book(s) is in its ideas. Amazing, enormous ideas that resonate deeply in these modern times. Pursuit of utophia. Value of empathy. Bravery in utter loss.
A beautiful book. ❤
Pre-ordered it 4months ago and today it arrived! the (hopefully) epic conclusion of the trilogy!
What is reading without cat hair :)
So, this was an ok book. Readable, often sweet, rarely confusing, had a little social commentary and is setting up a larger story within the trilogy. characters were ok, even though sometimes annoying, not too deep but not too shallow.
All in all, I'm not giving this book a lower score because it's unpretentious and doesn't aim high, while being consistent.
Pick it up when you need a fast, easy read, but not much more than that.
