pickI read this for a summer class I'm taking. It's a very well written and an amazing story, but it doesn't sit well with me to put a rating on real experiences Solomon Northup endured, especially considering the nature of what he braved. Suffice to say, this is an emotional, eye opening read, and I heartily recommend it.
