Characters were likable but I also loved that they did mistakes and weren't flawless.
This was a bit rough to read, this told about people who were living in the middle of the war and there weren't that many happy moments.
This had some repetitive sentences and also could have been a bit shorter. But this was pretty intriguing to read.
I love characters in this series, I enjoyed meeting them again.
There was a lot of action, but the plot wasn't really surprising: every single thing got solved maybe even too smoothly and I was a bit disappointed. At the beginning there were several impossible looking challenges ahead but they weren't that challenging after all.
This was a fun book, made me laugh and I enjoyed reading.

Chapters were like short stories: every chapter was from different POV and main characters were from different generations.
Writing felt a bit dull and didn't get me to feel all those emotions. And it's a shame because everybody's story was interesting and touching, but still managed to left me a bit cold.
I would have loved to have some plot, because this felt a bit like an anthology and I didn't love that.
I loved how well written characters were: some are super despicable and some really likable.
This was pretty dark book, and that's the atmosphere I often love. But this also felt a bit confusing to read: there were questions you wanted answered - but not so many answers were given. I think things make more sense in the next book.
#SeriesLove2024
This was an insta-love, and that didn't work for me at the beginning. The present timeline felt more believable, and flashbacks about things that had happened years ago gave some depth.
Plot was a bit missing, it took some time before things got interesting. But the last part of the book was really intriguing and everythings ends with a cliffhanger.

June is so unlikable and delusional main character - and that's why I liked her. Her mind was so twisted, I loved to see what she's going to make up next.
This was really captivating read, I was intrigued to see what was going to happen next. Super easy & enjoyable read. And I loved the ending, it was twisted enough to my liking 😀
Characters weren't likable, but behind them were clearly author's own experiences. I really appreciate that part.
This was mysterious, but had so many unbelievable things happening that I took this as a soap opera.
The ending felt rushed and didn't answer to all questions either. That was disappointing.
I loved Lacey, I really loved to have a bit different main character!! I adored characters overall, there were several who became friends with Lacey.
This felt super cozy, even though at some point I hated people of the small town who were judging.
Like many cozy mysteries, this too was a bit unbelievable. But I still enjoyed this and the ending made me curious about sequel.

I was in the zoom meeting with C.J. Tudor a year ago and LOVED her. I would love to interview her.

A favorite female author is a hard one, but I have enjoyed books by Karin Slaughter recently.
I don't know why, but I wasn't super invested in characters. I liked them and they had touching backstories, but something was missing that would have made me to love them.
This had a nice atmosphere, I loved the world. It felt alive.
This felt a bit slow to read: things happened but there were slower parts too. Or it felt like that when every little detail was explained. I would have been happy with less details & more action.
Characters weren't really fleshed out, they felt flat. That was the reason why I didn't feel all the emotions. There were scenes that should have made me feel more than what they did. I also don't like insta-love and that was the case here. Characters' bigger-than-life emotions at the end were unrelatable because there hadn't been a prober building up.
This was easy to read but a bit tasteless.
#SeriesLove2024
Characters were well developed, I really adored this circus troupe of misfits. This was also a story about toxic relationship, and I felt for Ruth. It's awful what people can do to each other, saying they love you.
I adore circus as a setting, and time travelling - this had both! I loved how this made me to think about who I really am.
There happened pretty much, there was one subplot that wasn't needed.

I hated how every POV was in first-person narration and you had to figure out who this “I“ is this time. I don't know if that was the reason why I couldn't relate to characters. Or was the writing style the reason? Writing was too detailed and wordy, and that made this pretty long read - even though there didn't happen that much. I ended up liking the romance in this book, but that only means the last pages.
I loved the world & magical atmosphere.
Characters felt somehow a bit flat, and I couldn't feel all their emotions. They were likable, but nothing more.
This felt so much like many other fantasy YA stories, this wasn't really unique. Plot was also pretty common and predictable. The first 100 pages dragged, and it took that long before starting to be interesting.
This didn't have that special feeling that the first book had, but this was still entertaining story.
#SeriesLove2024
I didn't find main characters likable and it was hard to relate to their relationship, but it was toxic. I appreciate how this showed things from isolated person's POV. And then how everything went toward destruction.
This was more like a drama, I started this thinking I would be reading a mystery and that was a mistake.
I didn't like the writing.
I would say this was super interesting read, this really made me see things differently.
Supporting characters in this series are awesome! But it seems like this on-off relationship got me tired. At least some hard feelings would have been understandable if someone had walked away only to come back TWO YEARS later.
I also found this unbelievable thinking about composing music. It's hardly believable that someone comes from retirement, starts composing and the album is out in couple weeks.

Books I read for #WintersRespite
“We believe the one who has power. He is the one who gets to write the story. So when you study history, you must ask yourself, Whose story am I missing? Whose voice was suppressed so that this voice could come forth? Once you have figured that out, you must find that story too. From there you get a clearer, yet still imperfect, picture.”

Alizeh was likable, and ended up liking the chemistry between her & Cyrus. It was easy to relate to Kamran and why he couldn't know who're trustworthy. I really loved one evilish character, because I am eager to see what part they're playing in the next book.
I loved plotting/politics in this book, and the setting was lovely too.
Strangely there doesn't happen really much in this book, but I still enjoyed reading this.
#SeriesLove2024
This book had unbelievable likable characters! I really loved them, even secondary characters. I didn't expect liking the main characters xD
This was a bit gory but still light & fun. I loved this pecualiar mixture :D The beginning was a bit off, but soon this really hooked me. And I loved everything after that point.
#SeriesLove2024
I have a bit mixed feelings. I was intrigued but I am not sure if I was that only for the true story behind the book. Main characters had so much happening in their lives, and I am not sure if I was interested in all of that.
We really should talk about victims more. I don't know if fictional book was the right choice. Does this work as a fictional story without knowing the true story? I am not sure.
