This is a mystery with magic, mostly set on a boat. Everyone is goddess blessed except D. He lied to everyone, so they think he‘s blessed. Murders start to happen and he‘s the main suspect. Lots of characters and different provinces. I don‘t agree with comparing this to Agatha Christie if she wrote fantasy… can you honestly compare anyone to her? This is a debut novel.

I really liked this book. Inspired by the legend of the 4 beauties of ancient China. I‘m not sure why this is classified as a historical fantasy. There weren‘t really any fantastical elements that I noticed except maybe the end.

Xishi learns how to be a spy and a seductress to bring down the current king who destroyed her people.

Really glad I picked this one up.

Needed a cozy read so I picked this one up. This is the 4th one in the vampire knitting club series. This one is set at the holidays so they have a booth at an artisan market. They become friendly with another booth and she gets attacked. So mystery is started. Pretty good.

This was good on audio because each character has their own narrator. Though with all the names in the world why did 3 people they talked about have very similar names. The king, the brother and the guy Rio is trying to save from prison.

This was an okay fantasy. Low pick. I‘ll probably continue the series, but it‘s not really a high priority.

My November #readyourkindle picks! I‘m hoping to read at least a couple of these.

I am obsessed with this world and this series. I‘m upset I read it so fast and have to wait another year or so for the next one. This was just published 10/29/24. I highly recommend this series. Romantasy.

This House is haunted was my favorite October book. However, it wasn‘t better than Fall of Ruin and Wrath. And Fall of Ruin and Wrath wasn‘t better than A Tempest of Tea.

Last book I finished in October. This was a fantasy romance novel where every year a witch is collected from each village to protect the realm. The village is attacked and set ablaze so they go off on a journey to get to the king. A lot happens on the journey. I believe this is the first in the series.

Really liked this witchy romance. Lucy feels like she‘s in a rut so she and her family make magical wishes. She then has to watch the wish unfold and it stops her from saying no. She has to bake and do karaoke. She also doesn‘t know if the wish is making Alex and her fall in love. I did not like Ursula and the next book is her POV, so we‘ll see if I pick it up.

This was an interesting take on the vampire story. They can go out in the day and the sun actually makes them stronger. Malinalli is an Aztec vampire and has lived a long guilty life. She finally decides to visit Europe and finally live. You get flashbacks of her history and why she lives the way she does. Liked it!

My least favorite Nancy Drew book of the series so far. It just felt very ridiculous and unlikely. I also don‘t think the ebook was 100% accurate. I felt like I was missing something or there were typos and stuff. Hopefully the next one is better.

Nope! All done with this trilogy (2nd in the series). Too much angel/devil/religious rules. She has to be a virgin so she doesn‘t get corrupted and not allowed to touch the guy. And she‘s so ashamed about how turned on she is because she‘s an effin 21 year old and wants to have sex. I know this series is older, but F THAT! To each their own and their own beliefs but this series is over for me.

Low pick. I randomly picked this one up because I needed an audiobook to listen to. It‘s a dark academia (with not really a lot of learning or classes). A lot of sex, drama and revenge. I had no idea where this story was going or what it was really about. But the ending was pretty good. I don‘t know if I‘ll read the 2nd book.

I picked this up randomly because I needed an audiobook to listen to. I did not really like this book. It kind of seemed like there was no point but at the same time all over the place and had a lot going on. For a book called library of the dead, there are not a lot of library scenes.

Idk if audio was the best format to read this book. There are a lot of points of view as the MC has DID. They get a job at a remote castle on an island as a caretaker. It‘s a thriller so won‘t say much more. I‘m not sure I like Alyssa Cole‘s mysteries.

I‘ve never read this collection of Sookie Stackhouse short stories. I‘ve read one or 2 in other anthologies but most of them were new to me. It was also really nice to finally understand some of the side stories that happen in the series that are referenced.

And finishing this had me meet my goodreads goal of 200 books! Now to see how many more I can read.

This was a cute story. Living in London, Bella is a witch working at a bookstore which her new boss is draining the magic out of the place. Bella is turning 30 and needs to pass a magic test to stay a witch. She gets a mentor and a protector and sparks fly.

A Miss Marple mystery. I haven‘t read a lot of this series but I feel like Miss Marple doesn‘t show up a lot in the book. Most of it is the mystery unfolding and then Miss Marple finally shows up. This one definitely surprised me!

I finished this book just to finish it. I didn‘t really enjoy this book, but I think it was more me than the book. It‘s set in the 19th century and inspired by Sri Lankan folklore. Amara is the daughter of a demon priest and seen as a witch. The British are colonizing the island and most of the residents are switching religion and no longer believe in the old ways. Men are being attacked by a demon and they can‘t figure out who. Very gruesome.

Idk why I thought this was going to be witchy. But this book was great anyway. Augusta is turning 80 and is forced to retire. Her niece helps her find a retirement home where she meets people from her past and makes new friends. You go back in time from when Augusta was 16 in Brooklyn and flash back and forth between the 2 time periods.

I wanted to like this book more than I did. The MC just turned 40 and she was obnoxious. If it didn‘t tell me that, I wouldn‘t have guessed. She is also grieving the loss of her husband after 2 years. She goes to a medium and something happens and now she can see ghosts. It took her way too long to figure out how to handle it.

This book is set in the summer but was pretty spooky. Brynn stays in a small town in a little hotel where she finds the support she needs. She‘s grieving the loss of her mother and trying to get her life back together. I didn‘t really know what to expect from this book but really liked it.

Finished this one yesterday. This one is set on a witchy island that has a ward that makes any visitors need to leave after 2 days except for Luke. It seems the island wants him there. A murder happens, so they need to figure out who did it because everyone suspects Luke.

It‘s been about a year since I‘ve read the last book in the series. This one has Undrea who owns an aquarium business and Ethan who just moved to town. He thinks she‘s drowning but she‘s a mermaid so she can breathe underwater, so he gives her “cpr” which enacts a curse that she will fall in love with him.

This one is a low pick. I have a lot of this author on my TBR, but this is only the 2nd book I‘ve read by them. This one freaked me out because pregnancy freaks me out lol. A lot of pregnant women, set in the 50s/60s so a lot of prejudice against unwed pregnant women. And a lot of mushrooms.

This is the 3rd book in the Witchlore series. This one is from the perspective of Ellowyn. She has to tell the truth all the time because of a spell her mother accidentally put on her. This one had lots of drama but it might be my favorite of the series so far.

I didn‘t really know what this one was about. Riley inherits a house and town from a long lost aunt on a tiny island. She realizes that she‘s a witch and has to deal with ghosts. It‘s another witchy romance and I really liked this one.
