Enjoying this strange book. I love the layers to it.
Haven‘t been on in a while, but had to come celebrate this arriving today!
So hanging out in the lobby while my husband has appointments isn‘t great, but I did get to read this entire book today. It was fun and I liked the characters. Nice to see bi representation.
I opened my package from @Johanna414 to find so many goodies it was hard to get them in the picture. The mouse pad says, “I need a day between Saturday and Sunday” which is so true. Tons of stationary and notes, I love it! Gorgeous washi and bookmarks too. The lotion is eucalyptus and tea and smells divine. I can‘t wait to read the books and add them to my classroom shelves. Thanks so much! @hermyknee
Finally diving into this. It is one of the books I purchased when the district gave me money to add to my classroom library. #notyourprincess may be next.
Got a late start on the #reversereadathon #deweysreadathon because we were out of town visiting family and friends, but was able to get a start listening to this on the way home. It‘s been on my tbr forever! Enjoying it so far.
He thinks he is going to be able to use this as a pillow. Sorry to tell you, Little Bat, I‘m going to need that.
“How can you really tell the story of a culture when you don‘t include all the voices within the culture? Otherwise it‘s just the story and history of power.”- Guerrilla girl known as “Frida Kahlo.” ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
Trying to decide if I can count this toward the #readharder2018 challenge of a book from BRICS- there are stories of women from each of the countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa.
Book haul. Maybe I can apply the self-discipline from No Excuses to not buying any more books for a while.
I have a reading buddy on the dock.
“The tendency to see the founding fathers as infallible statesmen and sages who capably delivered up a nation to flourish for hundreds of years obscured the fact that, in many ways, they were white-knuckling it through completely uncharted waters.”
My entry for the #yawednesday giveaway! I read the #first5 chapters, and can‘t wait to read more. @TheFunkyBookworm
Loved the first one. I learned about people I hadn‘t heard of, cried, and laughed. Can‘t wait to read this one. #yawednesday @TheFunkyBookworm
“For in the end, it is only the story that matters.”
Ignore the wedding stuff being torn down, but check out my reading spot for the morning! #NotInIowaAnymore
I hadn‘t heard of this, but I love Jason Reynolds. I think this will make a good graduation gift.
This bookmark is too cute. It‘s distracting me from reading. I love its collar.
Next shipment of birthday books. Possibly the last... I don‘t remember what I got 😬
Reading my #firstfive of Dread Nation finally. I think I‘m going to end up picking this one up. The cover always reminds me of Zoe from Firefly (maybe it‘s the coat?), and after the first chapter, the character does a bit too. Smart, strong, and funny.
Sad sentiment before bed.
4.5. I was a little unsure at times if this would be a 4 or a 5. The way the plot works out pushed it up for me. I love the imagery in this book and the conflicts the characters face within themselves. Now... when does the next one come out?
New book!
Made them fit! One pile to go to school and one to donate left me with a little room to grow. Which is good because on my nightstand are about 10 more on my tbr.
Reorganizing and moving my bookshelf. Why is it so hard to get rid of books?
Day 2 of appointments, and I came prepared. Now if I only had the audiobook for the drive home.
Sitting in the doctor‘s waiting room, and I left my book in the hotel 😭 This is why I love reading on my phone. Oh well, gives me some time to browse Litsy!
Books that wouldn‘t fit on my shelf and I don‘t read much... but couldn‘t get rid of yet. A lot are from college. I need to fix the one that is being bent, but otherwise they were in rough shape to start with and aren‘t being too abused. Now I‘ll have to find little books to fit in on top.
“He wants to believe that playing by the monarchy‘s rules will keep us safe, but nothing can protect us when those rules are rooted in hate.”
I am looking for some recommendations for good picture books for 8th graders. Any ideas? #recommend #picturebook
I‘ve heard good things about this, but couldn‘t get past the cover. I am enjoying it so far, and using if for my #readharder2018 challenge for a cover you hate.
And on to the next volume. With a kitty trying to get in the way.
After Code Name Verity, I decided I needed a fun read... which these really aren‘t at all, but they‘re good.
