Finally diving into this. It is one of the books I purchased when the district gave me money to add to my classroom library. #notyourprincess may be next.

I have read the other two books from the editors, #NotYourPrincess and Urban Tribes, and this one is the best (which is saying something). Beautiful art and beautiful writing, with some incredible things to be said. I was familiar with several names here, but especially glad to see Tanya Tagaq make an appearance.
I'm catching up with #jubilantjuly --
This is a wonderful book filled with Native voices, many of them young people. One example here: Model Ashley Callingbull (Cree) and photographer Thosh Collins (Pima, Seneca-Cayuga) "reappropriate" Native #style.
I adored the variety of Indigenous perspectives in this book: Writers, visual artists, activists, musicians... the list goes on.

This collection of #NativeAmerican writings, interviews, photos, and artwork offered an amazing look into the contributors' lives. Literature often relegates Native Americans to stories set in the past, but this work confronts that issue, showing that they are still here and still matter. The book does an excellent job of showcasing a variety of talented people from different nations with different jobs, helping to fight long-held stereotypes.
I'm enjoying a healthy late lunch with #teaandbooks on this snowy afternoon. #diversebooks #nativeamerican #ownvoices
I can't come up with words to describe this beautiful anthology, so I'll offer a quote from the foreword. "All the works...are part of our amazing struggle to go forward...without leaving our ancient selves behind." #weneeddiversebooks
Every page of this book is different and filled with talent. I can't wait to make something like this with my future students.
